The Outpost American Tavern
Great neighborhood place. Food is always great and service is always excellent. If you haven’t been - put it on your “restaurants to visit” list.
Food was once again delicious! I had the grown up grilled cheese enjoyed every bite. The ketchup was a show stopper as well - I generally don't put ketchup on my fries - but it was too good not to!
Took points away for parking issue! Didnt want ticket on Mothers Day, no parking without permit after 2pm. Not familiar with area or where to park.
1/2 off bottles of wine on Wednesday!!
The evening started out with a very watered down martini, which was very discouraging. Food was uneven.
Food was great. Love the environment for a fun brunch spot. However, had two female servers, both REEKED of cigarette smoke. Clothes and BREATH. The older one was rude and loud.
Hidden gem in Federal Hill. Gourmet cuisine in a small tavern environment. The definition of a gastropub
Been here for brunch and dinner and definitely would do brunch over dinner there. The dinner isn’t bad , but the brunch is excellent!
We had a great time at the outpost! Our server Julie was friendly and attentive. It had a very cozy vibe and although the bar was boisterous, the dining area was quiet. The wings were perfect. I got the Cobb salad and it was amazing and my boyfriend love his grilled cheese with brisket. The wings were so good that we made a second order! Would definitely make the trek over here again.
Our server was phenomenal and raved about all of the food. We got the chicken and waffles and Outpost benedict. The chicken and waffles are the best I've had in Baltimore, and the benny was perfect. 10/10 will be back.
Great neighborhood bar where you can get some very interesting and satisfying dishes. Be sure to leave room for dessert. They are all amazing!
We came on Sunday for brunch (with a reservation of course) and were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Our table was one of the high tops (my personal favorite) by the window. It was a little noisy but we didn’t mind. Service was attentive, fun, and the food was delicious! I ordered the Johnny Ryall or something like that and it was the perfect mix of salty/sweet that I crave for brunch (and the leftovers are amazing the second day!). Will RUN, not walk, back here.
Our favorite restaurant in Fed Hill. The food is always awesome and the service is great. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good meal, creative dishes and drinks and a fun environment.
Amazing food and great atmosphere
Parking was a little tricky but I called the restaurant and they gave me great parking instructions. The nachos are AMAZING!!!
Great neighborhood spot . Good food and the staff is great. Very friendly and attentive
There were five ladies - several more pick eaters and everyone found something and really liked it. The service was excellent - our waitress was exceptional and really treated us well. The apple and ice cream desert was huge and more than enough to share. Highly recommend.
Justine was amazing. Food was awesome. Great bar ambience. Will definitely be back.
Food was great as well as service. Will continue to make this one of our go to restaurants.
A very filling brunch at an amazingly reasonable price. It feel like the place ‘where everyone knows your name’ and it is! The brunch options are filling and delicious. The vice is great and you don’t feel rushed. Families, friends, couples - it’s always welcoming.
The Outpost is one of our favorite local spots! We’ve always had a great experience- creative menu, good food + drink, reasonable prices, and solid service. We will be back soon!
We went as a friendly business meal and had an amazing time! Service was outstanding in this cozy tavern. Eclectic touches that made us feel comfortable. We shared the avocado toast and chicken and bubbles special and they did not disappoint. It’s a low key vibe and nothing pretentious about it. Delicious food and we will be back!!
My friends and I dined at the Outpost for Sunday brunch. The staff was very personable and passionate about what they offered at the restaurant. I had the chicken and waffles and a spicy Bloody Mary, both were outstanding! Others in the party had the smoked salmon omelette (very generous on the salmon, in a good way), the croque madame (out of this world), and nannas breakfast (well done classic breakfast). Overall, an awesome experience and I will be back again.
After passing by Outpost many times as seeing it full on weeknights, I now know why. Great food, with a diverse menu and good drink selection.
Food was ok. Nothing special. My friend ordered mushroom lasagna for $20 and it was one mushroom covered in cheese sauce... bad.
This place totally surprised us! We went for restaurant week and the perks are endless:
1. I have severe food allergies, and always note them when I make an open table reservation. As soon as I arrived was seated, the waitress immediately confirmed that I had allergies and told me she had already spoken to the chef about them, and told me the only item on the menu that I couldn't eat! She also even checked with me two different times during the meal about other add-ons, confirming I could have them! That type of extra concern and check is SO beyond appreciated, and truly so rare. I haven't felt that comfortable and confident in eating at a restaurant in a long time.
2. The portions for restaurant week at a lot of places can often be sized down, and these were not AT ALL. They were generous, and the food was delicious. I recommend the burrata and the mac & cheese.
3. They had good local options for draft beer
4. The drinks came with little colorful animals on the side, and I can't overstate how needlessly exciting that was.
Highly recommend, cannot wait to go back!
Went for restaurant week. The service was wonderful. The waitress was super excited about the food.
Visited for Restaurant Week. The atmosphere was lively but not noisy - very much the feel of a neighborhood tavern. The Burrata in Hell and crab dip appetizers were excellent as were the mushroom lasagna, spiced apple cobbler and tres leches cake. I didn't think the NY strip steak was at quite the level of the other dishes, though the sides with it were very good. I had the wine pairing, which was selected specifically to go with each dish and was nicely done. As others have mentioned, parking in this area is challenging but we were able to find metered parking on the street. I look forward to returning sometime soon.
This is a great location for a Sunday brunch. The food was delicious, and our server was passionate about the menu.
Awesome little neighbor bar. Had board and card games to play while we waited
For our meals
Consistently great food. The chef does a great job of adding new things, and keeping current. She and the staff are great ( and we were there for New Year’s dinner)
What a find! So so good. From the comfy cozy ambiance, through great service, all the way to a delicious meal. Everything we tried was a slam dunk. YUM, YUM, YUM!!! Heats off to whoever is cooking in the kitchen.
We got brunch here and it was good food at a decent price
Great place forbore-Ravens game brunch!
Excellent service and the food was amazing, as always. Don’t forget to ask for the daily special. The Outpost never disappoints.
While this is a cozy little spot, the crew at the Outpost Tavern made it happen for our group of 18 business travelers, even after we had to adjust the reservation to a larger number multiple times. Staff - Super accommodating, kind, hard working, great with suggestions, and speedy with all of their service. We were always taken care of and didn't wait long for anything. Food / drinks - absolutely delicious, creative +fun. We shared a ton of appetizers that our group was so pleased with and then all ordered entrees and desserts. We were so pleased to hear, " we love this place" "these ____ are so good!" " great call on the restaurant" numerous times throughout the meal and we definitely hit the nail on the head with choosing the Outpost Tavern to make our business guests happy. The atmosphere was comfortable, inviting + unique throughout. Our whole group left with full bellies + happy energy and we will DEFINITELY be returning if we're back in Baltimore. I can say with enthusiasm that all 18 of us would recommend this spot!
Magnificent !! Simply magnificent
Always great service, and yummy food!
Outstanding Sunday brunch. The waffle with brisket and mushies was great. And of course, the biscuits were phenomenal as always.
We had the best service when we went. Our server, Natalie I believe, was incredibly busy as it was a Friday night, but she was killing it! Service can make or break a meal and even though she was so busy with a hundred other tables, she did an amazing job making my group of 5 still feel like we were important to her! On top of that- my steak frites and the nachos were amazing.
