Was our first time there! Food was excellent! Burger was amazing and so was the Reuben. Great atmosphere too! Left there and was back in an hour with another set of friends! How bout that for a return customer!
Service was amazing. Food was great. Can’t beat the location.
This is my new favorite to-go spot. Ambiance is cool and fresh, service staff is always outstanding, friendly, accommodating, and the food is always delicious. Definitely recommend the Cobb Salad or the Cronut Sliders.
Went for brunch. Food was outstanding. Bloody Mary’s the best I’ve had in Denver so far. Would definitely return my next visit to Denver
This was our first time at The Original and couldn't be happier with our experience! The restaurant itself is beautiful with great visuals throughout and the seating was super trendy and comfortable. Our server Jenny was awesome. I had some questions about the menu and she gave details answers and suggestions and was excited to be talking about what the restaurant had to offer. Cannot wait to go back again!
Fun spot, yummy food! The service was incredibly slow however; we had food in front of us for more than 10 minutes before we had napkins and silverware.
We went for their first day of brunch and it went so smoothly! The drinks were really good and so was the homemade everything bagel seasoning. We ate outside but the inside is so cute that we’d like to try dining inside sometime soon!
Maybe it's that it's still new, but we were sat down quickly and left for dead. One of the bus staff noticed we hadn't been offered any water and brought some for us, then nothing again. Eventually we were rescued by Brandon, who said that he'd look after us when he too noticed nobody was serving us. Brandon did a great job, we really enjoyed working with him, and as we were early in the evening he was able to spend some time with us. He's a star and needs to be cloned. Couple of comments on the food, the brussel sprouts need something to perk them up, they were good, but a little bland. Charging an extra $4 for an impossible burger was robbery, particularly when you could double the regular burger for $5. Happy hour offerings on drinks were thin, but the drinks on the main menu were tasty. The vienetta for dessert was spectacular and we'll be back just to enjoy another. Just adjust the price of the impossible burger and have a manager who notices when guests are not being looked after. Again, kudos to Brandon, it was a pleasure working with him.
I loved the food! The poutine, stroganoff, and cheeseburger were particularly delicious. The staff was helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to go there again!
I really enjoyed the design of the restaurant and the servers were great! The food was pretty basic, I enjoyed my burger but the french fries were dry inside and out. My daughter enjoyed her milk shake very much, but did not enjoy her pancakes; I tried the pancakes for her and they may have been a little undercooked, I think I tasted a little of the raw batter. I think the place could be really amazing if they tighten things up in the kitchen a bit.
Fantastic food and service. High end comfort food is the best description.
Way overpriced for the execution of the dishes. Poutine was not poutine. It was fries sitting in au jus with cubes of cheese that weren't even warmed to be able to melt. The raclette grilled cheese was completely underwhelming. Pretty sure they didn't use raclette and ratio of cheese to toast was completely off. Think Texas toast ( super thick bread) with equivalent of one slice of cheese. This place will cater to hotel and rockies traffic but I don't recommend this place to those reading this review.
The cronut sliders are the best thing I've eaten in a long time. My wife and I each had one. I could have eaten two orders myself. And Ashley, the bartender/our server, was one of the loveliest people who've waited on us over. We'll be back!
Had a great time visiting the original on Friday. The drinks were pricey but tasted great and the food was amazing. I have a food blog and instagram so coming here was definitely a fun experience! I will be back Saturday for brunch. :)
Kind of a higher end take on diner food, higher priced then your usual diner, but the quality much better so overall a good value for what you get.
The team at The Original made our daughter’s birthday dinner very memorable. The food was excellent and the service was great. Would highly recommend. Very nice decor and location.
Very cool new place with diverse upscale diner type menu.
All 4 of us really liked the food and the drinks. Fun atmosphere. Great new addition to neighborhood and impressive new McGregor Square. .
Thanks for the great feedback Brian! We look forward to seeing you back at the Original soon! Michael GM
Love!!!!! Will be back soon
A fun quirky new addition to the Denver food scene. With a retro diner decor, the restaurant offers fun, creative and delicious items. The cronought appetizer is a must try. The sandwiches and burgers are delicious as well. The drinks are good but overpriced.
Ambience was great! Loved the cocktails. Definitely a great place to brunch before going to a Colorado Rockies game!
Thanks for the great feedback Anne! Looking forward to seeing you back at the Original soon!' Michael GM
Really delicious food in a cool, nostalgic ambiance, best describes as an upscale diner. We ordered the Cronut Sliders (a must!), steak and eggs, mac and cheese, Brussel sprouts and a salad.
Fun, mid-century modern diner in McGregor Square, close to Coors Field, LoDo and Union Station. Heavy pours on the drinks and tasty meals. Service was on point.
The ambiance was very modern upscale diner. The menu was great and so was the service. The Trout was delicious.
Prompt seating - great service - food served quickly - food hot when it came.
We arrived on a Sunday right after a game ended. We were seated at the entrance and tables were accurately spaced apart. Service began great, we got our drinks, then business started picking up and that’s when the quality of service dropped. My party ordered a salad and we were brought the wrong salad, no big deal, the waiter took it back and said the new one would be right out. Another party was seated when a party they recognized were leaving and decided to join them. The party sat themselves at the table that’s marked non seating due to spacing. They asked to move to a table behind their party which was still a non seating area and yet they were allowed to. Weird but whatever. The waiter checks in 10 minutes later and says again the salad will be right out. We finished our meals, drinks, paid the bill and still sat an additional 15 minutes. Still no salad. I asked the waiter if they could just pack it to go, he said yes and the salad would be right out. 10 minutes later still no salad. My waiter walked past us indoors and seen we were still waiting on the salad and walked off with no communication . I decided to skip the salad and took my copy of my signed receipt in to ask the manager to just remove the charge. He apologized and said he’d take care of it and I’d see a $16 credit to my bank account since the charge went through already. This was fine but here it is 3 days later and I am still not seeing the credit/charge reversal. I would probably not visit again nor would I suggest this restaurant to anyone to visit. If my order was at least accurate and accounted for I’d at the very least suggest pick up service but even the order was botched.
Had a reservation for Easter brunch... wait staff didn't want to seat us outside per request, poor service, hardly any acknowledgement if any .. starters came out w/ main course... waitress never brought our drink from the bar... extremely poor experience
The location and outdoor dining area were really good. The service was slow but the restaurant is new so with some time I would hope service will improve. The food was the biggest disappointment looking back on the experience; the Sourdough Pancakes (kids) were under cooked, the Cobb Salad was just a bowl of lettuce with some cold chicken and a few other veggies on top, the appetizer Veggies did not include enough veggies and the bread was missing, and the sides of fries were not hot. I also thought the mixed drinks were very small glasses for the price. For now, I would not recommend for a while until they work the kinks out of their process; hoping most are because they are new.
Service was great but the food is average. The place is clean and cute.
The food was AMAZING!!! Only reason why it doesn’t get a 5 star was we had to wait about 20 minutes for our waiter every time. Wasn’t sure if it’s because they were new & busy but once it got slow we still rarely saw our waiter & they kept forgetting food/drinks for people at our table. But again, the food was INCREDIBLE.
Food was good but service was very slow and drinks were like half pours.
Great food, great location. Service was excellent. Highly recommend the brownie sundae! Had a guest with celiacs disease and server answered all our questions about preparation of dishes. Kitchen was great in accommodating special dietary needs and provided a meal that was delicious and able to be enjoyed without worrying about cross contamination and being "glutened". Highly recommend and would dine here again. Lots of options for celiacs diners and vegetarians.
Great location in a nice open air environment. 5 minute walk to Coors field.
Slowest and worst experience ever
