Overall wonderful experience. Excellent gluten free pizza!!!
I always forget about this adorable place, hanging on to its Ann Arbor legacy for 60 odd years and still going strong. We had a lovely dinner after seeing two Cinetopia films and we could actually discuss them, not too loud like so many restaurants in town. Delicious salads and they have very nice gluten free pizza. Impeccable and friendly service. Will definitely be back.
We really enjoyed the food! It was great, Aso our wait person, Athena, was really nice!
If you are lucky Tyler S. will be your server , he is fantastic and made a great spot even better.
Staff took great care of us for family get-together after Navy commissioning ceremony. Thank you!
Service was poor. Most orders came out wrong or did not come at all. Food tasted ok but some of us ended up eating something we did not order because we got tired of sending the meals back.
Wonderful food and cozy ambiance! Always an Ann Arbor staple! Our waitress seemed new to waitressing and we had to ask her to clear old glasses and plates. My eggplant Parmesan was terrific
Delicious food, great atmosphere, excellent service. Consistently a great place to enjoy a meal.
We waited nearly an hour to get our drinks and bread. Nice waiter. He was overworked though and help was provided way too late to make up for it.
Our table was ready right away, and the food was really good. My daughter declared it the best pizza she had ever eaten. It was Saturday night, however, and they were extremely busy. A second waiter had to pitch in to eventually get us drink refills and bring our food, and even then there were a few minor details missed (I asked for dressing on the side, but it came on the salad). Everyone loved the food, though, and we will be back.
Was in Ann Arbor for a college visit and thought we would try a local favorite. Hostess spent an inordinate time on the phone before seating, did not even acknowledge that we were there. The place was mostly empty on a Tuesday night and they had a trivia game going on that attracted what seemed to be some local students. Place was dated but quaint. Menu looked good - the spinach lasagna was very good and almonds in it were an added touch that I've never had before. The blackened salmon caesar salad sounded really good but unfortunately it was an entire piece of salmon just placed on top of a salad, thought it would be cut up. Salmon tasted more like crab than salmon which made it even more disappointing. Probably should have ordered the pizza instead. Waiter service was fine and friendly.
The quality of the food on the buffet was as good as prior years. There were just fewer selections.
Good pizza and excellent service!
We always have a good time at Original Cottage Inn! The owner and all employees are friendly and attentive. They have enough space to accommodate groups as well as cozy booths for two or four.
It was great place to eat with a big group. The pizzas were delicious.
Quick meal on a work day. Always good, always predictable, a great place for a pizza, salad or a burger!
The waiter was great and we loved the pizza and wine!
The original Cottage Inn experience was awesome. From the minute we walked in the door until we left we felt like royalty. Jen the bartender and our server in the bar area was totally five stars
I thought it was a really great meal and brought back a lot of memories from when I went to school in A2. Now, the only thing missing are my 100 points for dining there!
Very good. Never got a bread basket which is usually served.
Best pizza in Ann Arbor!
Nice waiter. Tasty food
Always a stop for us when returning to Ann Arbor. The service was fantastic and the pizza was delicious.
Good family Italian restaurant. Casual dining. Big menu.
I usually really like the original Cottage Inn, but they were off this week. We had occasion to eat their twice and in both cases the waitstaff were unattentive to the point of having to reask for things. Even drink requests after ordering took quite a while to deliver. Two people at our same table ordered the vegetarian sampler. One got a sampler, the other just spinach lasagna.
Food was tasty and high quality. Best of Cottage Inn pizza was quite tasty, plentiful topping great crust.
Our waiter Randy was NOT attentive, however the manager took up his slack
We were seated right away, the wait staff was very friendly, and the food was delicious!
Went on a Sunday at usual dinner time; had a reservation so we were seated immediately. The pizza was excellent and the dinner entrees were almost as good. Eggplant was a bit overcooked but still tasty. It did get a little noisy when people with very young children arrived and were seated nearby, but that should be expected on a weekend.
Absolutely delicious and surprised, but how tasty everything was!
A great place to eat during Restaurant Week. We hadn't been there for many years and wanted to take this occasion to try it once again. We were very pleased by the fabulous food and service.
We came to celebrate my wife’s birthday before we went to a hockey game at Yost. We got the pizza and salad for four. The salad was great as always. The pizza was also pretty good but it could have been cooked a little longer. The edges were great but a little underdone in the middle. We were in a little of a hurry to get to the hockey game and I asked if they did anything for birthdays. Most places give a free desert. Our server said they give a discount but the bill was already printed so he couldn’t do anything. Too bad.
We are never disappointed when we go to The Original Cottage Inn. Very friendly waitstaff, excellent food and always accommodating to any size party.
Food quality is consistent and good. Excellent value.
Wonderful menu, excellent pizza. Not your typical pizza, good variety! Wonderful salads and other italian options too. Love this place!
Needed a casual dinner the night before Thanksgiving, and this was perfect. Friendly service and had a great time with out-of-town company. A real slice of Ann Arbor.
The Original Cottage Inn is a dependable choice. We often come with a large group and everyone seems to find something they like. This time I had the minestrone soup and the meat sampler, which includes lasagne, meat ravioli, and manicotti. The food was properly prepared and tasted very good. Our friends who are vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free all found something to enjoy.
Our server was charming and very efficient. She made sure we got to our movie on time. She did manage to charge some of the alcoholic beverages to the wrong checks, but we decided to settle that among ourselves rather than taking time to have her correct the bills.
While I enjoy Cottage Inn - I have been to this location twice in 20 years. The rational - the kids in the loft area that have zero regard for the diners below. Our group of 4 was sitting in that area and could not hold a conversation due to the noise level of the (literally) screaming children. When our waiter was confronted about the noise level, we were disregarded and we were told that 'they will be here a while...' While I understand that there is a delicate line a restaurant can take with energic children, there are safety issues with the stairs and railing. Will not visit this location again, and probably will not support a franchaise that doesn't support all customers.
Pizza is the best! Very vibrant atmosphere. Large space.
Incredibly unfriendly older hostess, had no clue about our OpenTable reservation and seemed like she had no desire to help. So rude, made me not want to come back. Should be fired. If the owner, then shame on her.
