The Original Cottage Inn
We had not been here in a long time. Basic scenario was a very long time to get in an order and get served. Staff was very pleasant but seemed to be trying to cover too much so was gone for long periods. Food was OK. Spaghetti with meat balls was great, cobb salad was not so good, wrong dressing soaked into it, lots of whilted lettuce. Roasted veggies appetizer are really like a flatbread pizza, good but not how it was described. They said long delay was due to ordering a cesear salad with blackened salmon cause it had to cook twice......salmon was really good in the end but was surprised this was the delay of almost 30 minutes to get food. Missed the start of our show. Probably should have focused on the pizza option.
Really good pasta - large portions. Second year in a row going there during a football weekend - plan to go again next year.
Always enjoy the food. Best Pizza in Michigan
Very welcoming. Good food and prices are descent. Was a little noisy for a large group conversation. Only one waiter in restaurant, due to buffet, so service was a little slow. Otherwise, I would recommend to a friend or colleague.
Prompted by the news of a vegan menu, we selected this as a birthday destination. We were not disappointed. A great selection of vegan offerings, as well as the standard omnivore selections meant that everyone involved could enjoy celebrating the day. The vegan options were not only plentiful, but delicious!! Service was excellent as well.
Excellent food and excellent service. Took care of our grandkids like family.
The service was amazing and the food was delicious!
This is a great pizza place and ordinary to mediocre on other items. The fries were good and the burger was ok. The eggplant parmesan was mediocre. The chicken marsala was overcooked but the steamed vegetables were very good.
Jazz was good. Meatballs were a huge disappointment..very dry and mushy. Pizza was good but ravioli cream sauce was a bit sour tasting.
Fay was a fantastic server. The food took a while but when it arrived it was really good. We had a mixed group, some vegans and some omnivores. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. When the vegan burger came out it arrived with fries, and Fay investigated and found out the fryer also is used for calamari. So she brought out roasted vegetables to replace the fries. I very much appreciated her thoughtfulness and service excellence. We will visit again.
Always a great choice for good pizza
Thanks for the hospitality Ann Arbor. We loved the relaxing dinner in one of our familiar spots
Food was OK. The server gave us all the wrong meals. Had lasagna and mixed meat pasta plate. Tables, chairs and floor are all pretty greasy. Need a major grease cutting cleaning. Ate there Jusy 3rd so it was really slow. Would not eat here again.
Best minestrone soup anywhere! Wonderful eggplant. Great service! No wonder they've been a favorite for decades!
We had reservations for nine to celebrate our son graduating high school. They gave us a great table and Jaz (our server) was AWESOME. The people that had never been to The Original Cottage Inn LOVED it.
Cozy, excellent wait staff and food was delicious with a beautiful presentation!
Food was good, and the service was great. They did their best to accommodate our large party
The Original Cottage Inn in downtown Ann Arbor has great gluten free options—pizza, pasta, even rolls, not to mention a wide variety of salads and entrees. Highly recommended!
Our server, Jazz, was outstanding, and the service in general (host, busboy, etc) was great and friendly. Food was excellent as usual. This is a longtime favorite of mine in Ann Arbor.
Booth seat, good server. Very good salad. Kids chicken and pasta were very well received.
Thanks fora great traditional Italian Dinner after graduation / our family of 10 enjoyed the great food along with great service with a reasonable price! Appreciate the table being ready on time as well....Thanks again for the great experience! Tim
Dinner was delicious.
very cozy; good food and great service even though it was very busy with pre concert crowd
I made reservations for Easter Sunday, but there was no indication on website of an Easter Brunch and that it was the only option. I am not a fan of these kind of brunches, especially for the price of 22.99. For this price I would expect a few more options, not pepperoni and cheese pizza. Very disappointed.
We were given a table for 8 with room for our birthday cake. Gentleman allowed us to bring a cake...very generous. Alex, waiter, allowed us plenty of time to visit and we didn't feel rushed.
Lunch buffet was quite good across the board! Luckily, we were able to largely serve ourselves because our server really didn’t want to!
They have the best pizza in town and the servers are always great!
I hadn't been to Cottage Inn since I graduated many years ago and I decided to try it again. The service was excellent (attentive but not intrusive), the atmosphere was comfortable, and the food was very good. I'll come back the next time I feel like having Italian food.
It was a real treat to relax here for my family and me. The pizza is as good as it was back in the day when I went to school at U of M.
The food and service were great however, the air freshener was overwhelming and should be lightened up.
The best place in Ann Arbor! Been going there for 36 years! Order the deep dish pizza / greek salad for 2 or 4. Great value and great food. Another great thing about this place is that you can usually get a table, even on weekend nights when other places in Ann Arbor have waits of 1.5 hours. GO! You will love it.
Our service was excellent from the hostess to the manager checking in with us on our way out. The restaurant is family friendly and as always, the food was excellent!
For the price, thought spaghetti/meatballs should have had at least 3 meatballs. Sauce was very tasty and noodles were perfectly cooked. Temp was great. Pizza was terrific. Good soup choices, though only a couple options. Minestrone was terrific.
Enjoyed the ambience. Online reservation worked well. Food came in a timely fashion. Waitress was attentive but seemed not to want to deal with details like changes in order and particular requests of diners.
Although the service was good and the staff was friendly, I went to the original cottage Inn to eat. I had meat lasagna and it was extremely salty. They didn't even ask how I like to have it. The taste was so disappointing. The atmosphere was good.
A favorite of ours for over twenty years, never disappoints. Something for everyone! You have to try the raspberry poppyseed dressing.
Vegies tasted and looked frozen out of a bag. Grilled salmon subpar. Blackened chicken pasta average and clamchowder was good. Bread was poor for a Italian restaurant.
The food was subpar but the service was great.
Our dinners arrived before we could finish our 'cup' of soup, hate that. Ordered lemon and rosemary chicken, the chicken had too much rosemary on it so you couldn't taste the lemon or the chicken for that matter. Also ordered the chicken Marsala, had to send it back because it was so tough you couldn't cut it with a knife or chew it. Reminded me of freezer burn meat. The server brought out another dinner which was better but the sauce tasted like beef gravy, not Marsala wine. I used to frequent this establishment when I worked in Ann Arbor, a lot has changed. I know they are known for their pizza but the chicken entrees are subpar.
Seated promptly, great service, not too loud with a floorplan or multiple rooms/levels. Great pizza and selection of craft beers.
Great as usual! Great food, nice service. Nice opportunity to catch up with loved ones.
Had an excellent meal with excellent service! Hadn't been here since my college days and brought my own kids along for a very enjoyable evening.
