   It's a great place to go for fresh seafood. The ambience is rustic warehouse, the service is top notch, and the food is outstanding. The only weakness of The Optimist is the dessert menu, but you will likely be too stuffed for dessert, so that's not a major issue. I would recomend some specific items on the menu, but really, everything is so good there is really no reason to do so. And an A+ to the cocktail menu as well.

   Food, service, and energy were amazing. Pepper was our server and helped us with any questions or recommendations. She went above and beyond. This spot is a hidden gem!

   We had a great meal!! We started with oysters and they were excellent, clean and with all the accompaniments you would want. Then, we shared the baby kale salad, the octopus and the redfish. Salad is incredible and the octopus may be the best we have tried in Nashville. The redfish and the broth it was in was amazing.

   I'm not aware of any good seafood restaurants in Nash, so this is a much needed welcome addition to the food scene here! Mahi was cooked perfectly, portion was just right (because who wants leftover fish...). Great wine selection. Next time I'll try the oysters. Excited to add this to my recommendations list.

   The Optimist is my favorite restaurant in Nashville and I’m so happy it has never disappointed!! I always bring in out of town guests and take friends for celebrations. Our server was a bit too expedient in trying to get our order yet took some time to get our bottle of wine otherwise he was fantastic!!

   Our server was amazingly knowledgeable and friendly. He had that story you want to hear, he dined there a couple years earlier and liked it enough to apply and be there ever since. People seemed happy to be there at work and serve a quality menu. Food was delicious, only comment is maybe a touch too Asian fusion, the dishes that didn’t hit as hard were underwhelming it Asian.

   The Optimist is everything a person could want in an upscale restaurant. The service is great from the beginning to the end. The atmosphere is very good and the best thing of course is the food. Everything we had was outstanding.

    Can't say enough nice things about The Optimistic. My partner and I were out for our anniversary. Booked through Open Table and mentioned it was our anniversary. Usually restaurants don't mention it though so nothing was expected. Not only did each staff member which us a happy anniversary, but we were also given a free appetizer that wasn't on the menu and then added ice cream on the house with our dessert. The staff were lovely and the food was incredibly delicious. Not a single negative.

    Food was great. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Not inexpensive but a great place for a date night. Parking is the only issue -neighborhood under construction and valet is $8.00 plus tip.

    L'Optimiste is a nice and fancy restaurant. Overall the food is good, not exceptional. We had appetizers and oysters and there were perfects. The fishes were well cooked but the portions are very small, and there is no side included. However, we were very disappointed by the desserts, which are too sweets and not really tasty.

    I've been here going on 4 times. Food has been spectacular each time. Love the atmosphere, service was good overall, although it took 8 minutes for a server to greet us which is quite long time and our drinks also took a long time. Each time our appetizers arrived before our drinks. Besides that, definitely recommend!!

    The experience was outstanding.Our table was right by the plate up area of the kitchen. This created an energetic atmosphere watching a seamless display by the culinary team plate up delicious food to a very busy restaurant.The cocktails were amazing ,order the halibut and lobster burrata salad. Our server Brian Alexander was knowledgeable ,attentive,had a great sense of humor and conversationalist.I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant when in Nashville.

    I would not recommend this restaurant. The worst octopus appetizer ever- chewy non flavorful. Theses people do not know how to cook seafood. My mistake- being from the coast and ordering from an inland restaurant

    We had an amazing meal and dining experience. The bread was so delicious. The seafood chowder was smoky and tasty. The mani mani was delicious! And apple pudding topped off a fabulous meal!

    The food was fantastic. Our waiter was extremely knowledge and the recommendations were spot on. I am considering coming back again before we return home, which is saying a lot, considering all the amazing food in this city.
