Morgan was our server last night, his customer service and attention to detail was outstanding. Want to give him a shout out for making my friend’s birthday so special also shoutout to the bartender who made the perfect dirty martini.

Oysters were great, starters of figs and Spanish octopus were outstanding, entrees of Halibut and Mahi Mahi were incredible, dessert of chocolate pudding cake capped off an unforgettable dinner. The weather was perfect so we were able to sit outside. Inside was cozy, but very dark. When I think of seafood I imagine bright open spaces. So being outside was definitely a much better outcome for me.

Excellent experience… A bit noisy, but small price to pay when the food was that outstanding. Every single bite. Locally sourced produce, quality protein… amazing service! Thank you, Noam 👏🏻

Waitress Paige made the experience. My birthday dinner was amazing and she was so attentive. Her suggestions were on point! Food was as I had hoped. They brought the seashore to Nashville bite after bite!!!

The pork schnitzel was excellent. The sauce with clams added the additional flavor to the dish. The roasted oyster were different and the flavors used over powered the oysters. The peach and fig appetizer was very good, I liked the flavors and freshness to the palate. The summer squash dish was unique and had a nice kick of spice. What surprised me the most was the service. The Optimist has always had an excellent service at the bar, but this time it was like we were getting ignore by the bartender. Initially we thought that probably he was just allowed to prepare cocktails and not serving. But then, he will acknowledge other customers except us. It was like he did not want us there. We had to ask another server that was attending the tables for silverware, which he only brought fork and knives but not napkins, so we had to stand up and grab napkins from another table. For the level of Restaurant and prices that they charge, service should always be top level.

I was blown away by the Optimist! I just moved to Germantown and this has by far become my new favorite restaurant. The staff and service was amazing and our needs were not only met but exceeded. All of the food was unique and delicious. The space was beautifully designed with great attention to detail. 10/10 highly recommend!
