I will write this review and concentrate on one specific time and on the dining portion of the tavern and not the pub version. My wife, our older son, and my four-year-old granddaughter. This was a Friday afternoon and they were offering a buffet for $12.95 and $7.95 for children. Here are the offerings they had: A mixed green salad, one pasta dish, mac and cheese, potato salad and roasted chicken. That was it. No other options. No fish, beef, pork or even road kill from I-84. My granddaughter simply had some mac and cheese and pasta. I passed since this was a disgraceful value option that is quite possibly on the very bottom rung of any buffet I have ever seen. The food itself was quite ordinary as reported by the others in our party. The dessert tray offered was what can best be described as commercial leftovers. To charge such a price is just visitor robbery. The service was no problem, but the wait time was excessive – we were told 30 minutes and it became 50 minutes. Just looking at the dining area with half the tables empty while people waited is a management staffing issue. There are other dining options at Sturbridge Village, but my suggestion would be to go about one mile to the Publik House.

We found this spot on OpenTable and it was an excellent choice. Very nice atmosphere and wide selection of food make this a very good brunch option. Service was attentive and friendly

We had a recent family reunion here. The restaurant was empty at the time which was perfect for many family members talking ! The food was very fresh and ample in size portions. We really enjoyed our time there.

Plenty of traditional buffet food at a reasonable price. If you are looking for a special dining experience then go elsewhere.

While to food was overall very good, the yankee pot roast was dry, extra juice would have been nice. The clam chowder was delicious. Our waitress was extremely abrupt and not very friendly, just about threw our meals at us.

We recently visited the Oliver Wright Tavern for brunch with our two young children (6 and 8). Overall the experience was good, and the food selection is also good. Children under 10 eat for free, and there are plenty of "kid friendly" options, our children really liked the place. For the adunts in our party, the impressions were mixed. While some food items were very good, the omlettes, and Belgiam waffles come to mind, most of the selections were strictly middle of the road, while other areas were definately lacking. Several of the bakery items had a distinct "just baught at the local wholesale club" feel. The bagels in particular were lacking in quality. The price is good, though we would gladly pay more for a tic up in overall quality.

Brunch was wonderful with many choices for all tastes from an omelet station to a carving station. All food items were expertly prepared and tasty. Would recommend to friends.

My family of three had Sunday brunch at the Oliver Wight Tavern. Though we were seated promptly upon arrival, we had to wait and wait for a server to come by for our drink orders. When our drinks finally did arrive, the order was incorrect and had to be sent back. We didn't order anything complicated either - just coffee, juice, and water. Our plates sat stacked up and it took a long time for us to check out. The food was great and included an omelet station, waffles, breakfast meats, luncheon fare, desserts, and much more. We all had several helpings. Kids under 10 are free and Old Sturbridge Village members get a discount. Service aside, we do recommend this restaurant and plan to return. We hope that the poor service was fluke.

We've been here for brunch 2x, Sturbridge being 1/2 way between family in Boston & in Lenox. The food selections are extensive, but adequate, brunch fare; I was stunned to find that there's an extra charge for juice. Our waitress was very nice; she remembered us from the previous time that we'd been here. No ambiance - the dining room is Spartan, in keeping with the old Sturbridge theme, I imagine. The noise level is so high that it's almost impossible to talk with tablemates because there's no sound insulation, and because even quite young children are welcome - not that they shouldn't be, but they're noisy. Will we return, possibly, because there are few alternatives.
