The Olive Tree
The food was amazing!
Had the beetroot smoked salmon for starter and the herb crusted cod ( specials )
Highly recommend the food and great service
Really good gastropub meal. We just had main courses - pie of the day (lamb), burger and risotto all well prepared with quality ingredients. Good selection of wines by the glass. Service charming as well as efficient.
Excellent service & food - and dog friendly. Very pleasant afternoon drink & meal ...
Great food very friendly attentive service and good adherence to COVID safety practices - had a really good time
Good pub food in a very pleasant atmosphere. The waiting staff were attentive and extremely helpful. All round a very good lunch and we will return.
We had the curry with fish followed by the eton mess. Both were excellent dishes that we enjoyed. Care was taken by staff at all times to respect the virus criteria
Fantastic proper home cooked pub food. Our family group of 5 all loved the delicious generous meals. Extremely good value and very good service. The dinning room was a little cold but it was a crisp evening.
My sister and I ate dinner here recently. She had Pork Belly and I had Mussels. We both shared bread and Olives to start. The staff were attentive, taking our drinks order as we sat. Our food was , fresh and well prepared and presented. The drinks are a little pricy but in these times where we don’t drink much or go out often, I didn’t really mind. The Covid protocol was being taken seriously but with a friendly approach. We both enjoyed our experience and will return soon!
Would go back in a heart beat. Had a lovely lunch and the service was just right on speed and very friendly.
The Mussels in Cream and white wine starter very tasty and we had the Harissa Lamb rump with giant Couscous as one main which was both tasty and very tender.
The other main was the Goan Hake & Prawn Curry with Poppadoms which was delicious and not over spiced, so you could taste the fish and the very succulent Prawns.
We were too full for desserts I'm afraid!!
Enjoyed a nice quiet lunch with friends. Good selection of food and friendly staff. We found the restaurant a little cold,.
The food, service and ambience were all excellent and we shall definitely eat / drink there again
Covid precautions excellent. The food was very good, especially the mussels.
AND there was 50 per cent off cost on Tuesday lunchtime which was pleasant surprise. Will definitely return soon.
Lovely food bit slow when ordering drinks, also a bit cold due to windows being open.
We found the staff excellent due to Covid we felt very comfortable & the food was lovely xTables well spaced .
Lovely food, relaxed atmosphere. Since covid service is a little slow but staff adhere to distancing, masks etc.. and food worth the wait.
Think its imperative to support local businesses like restaurants so made a point of returning to the Olive Tree for a birthday celebratory meal. we were very impressed at the quality of the food and friendly, attentive yet subtle service.
Lunchtime meal. Great food and service, not rushed at any time, allowing us to sit & natter.
It was great to return to the Olive Tree. The food and service were as good as usual. The restaurant was well organised covid wise.
Great Sunday lunch
I had the mushroom wellington Sunday dinner choice and it did not disappoint
Lovely crumble and custard
Super friendly service
The staff were welcoming and attentive . The menu was varied and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal
Delicious food and very friendly staff. Unfortunately it was quite noisy so difficult to keep a conversation going.
My husband and I went there on Friday 2nd October. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was delicious! I had the mussels and they were big and lovely. Hubby had the lamb steak and said it was very tasty. A lovely evening. Thank you!
Fabulous food, great service
Lovely venue, however food over priced, disappointed with a very average scampi and chips, that quite honestly I could have cooked from my freezer. Maybe I made the wrong choice. Staff were friendly. Would I go back? Not sure.
Good choice of food served with a smile by the staff.
Well spaced tables enabling distancing. Staff wore face shields at all times. Great food.
Very nice to be able to return, as always food & service was up to their usual standard.
Food was out of this world, cooked fresh and very tasty. Great value for money, staff extremely friendly and they were very particular in sticking with the Covid 19 guildlines. Soft drinks also were value for money. The pub itself is very clean, great atmosphere but you do get the one customer who likes their voice to be heard. We were sat near a man who seemed to be a regular but he was rather loud and he did not order food either.
Good honest food , well laid out, only issue was that we sat near the door to the rear garden that was always open and a cold draft was unpleasant
Very good Sunday roast and the burgers are excellent. Our only problem was that on Sunday it was very chilly. Roast beef very good but would have preferred it to have been hotter. Overall enjoyed our lunch
Our shared appetizers were good and my friend said his hake was good but I was very disappointed with my rump steak which was nearly all fat. I was brought another one which was only slightly better but I would prefer to pay more for a fillet or sirloin and be able to eat it. I thought £18 was quite a lot for such a disappointing main course
Superb Friday lunch, great selection and quick efficient service. Quiet but that suited us.
We visited early, on a quiet Thursday which just happened to be the first night of “Lockdown Lite” where the new regulations for pubs to shut at 10 pm and customers to wear masks except when seated came into force.
We were warmly welcomed and offered a choice of tables, either in the bar or restaurant. We chose the restaurant, where we were the only diners. Service was pleasant, food was excellent and good value. If anything sucked the joy out of our experience it was COVID and not the venue! We both agreed we would happily return.
Everything was good nothing exceptional but food was good price reasonable with dis count
Excellent Sunday roast in the pleasant and quiet garden. The waiting staff were very friendly but the overall service was slow. We arrived at 2pm but didn’t receive our meals until about 3.15pm. If you’re not in a hurry, I’d highly recommend it.
A very pleasant visit. I was made very welcome even though I was on my own for lunch. Enjoyed the experience and will come again. Thank you to the friendly staff.
A great local, always good food. Friendly staff, very accommodating.
The waiting staff have stopped wearing masks since I visited a couple of weeks ago. When asked they said it was because it was hot / uncomfortable ! We were served by 3 different people. I think that's not good given C19 . I'd suggest you again start to wear masks / visers and hkeep serving staff to one person per table.
