About The Olde English Tea Room

The Olde English Tea Room, which can be found in Wake Forest, North Carolina, is known for the pots of tea it serves its customers. Those pots of tea arent the only specialty though, as you can also enjoy a full homemade meal and dessert in the midst of a pleasant atmosphere. The Olde English Tea Room is a wonderful place to relax, thanks to the soothing music and the friendly staff combining with the food and drink.

The list of teas available at The Olde English Tea Room is quite extensive, including black, green, oolong, herbal, decaffeinated and much more. The sandwiches on the menu go great with the tea, so you should try the ham and aged cheddar or the turkey and provolone.

The Olde English Tea Room is a hidden gem located in Downtown Wake Forest. It is very quaint and charming. The staff is very efficient and so very friendly. There is a large menu with everything from quiche to salads to sandwiches to soups. There is a large selection of hot teas to choose from as well.

The servers are always smiling and on top of things. You don't usually have to ask twice for anything. They are timely and the food is really good. The tea room is a great place for all ages and taste buds.

Store bought cookies and rock hard scones made for a very disappointing tea experience.

This was the second time I had been here with a group of friends and we all truly enjoyed the dining and service that the restaurant provided. As a group of five teenagers, it was nice to go to a classy place and dine with friends. I do have to say that the restaurant was rather quite for the five of us but the food was definitely incredible. I would highly reccommend the Hot Cinnamon Spice tea. Absolutely delectable! Five stars!

My daughter and I have been going as a Christmas tradition for more than 10 years together and with her now out of state in College the tradition is even more important to her and I. Thank you again to the wonderful staff and owners for another life long memory

While the high tea was enjoyable and tasty, the other lunch items ordered were not. My daughter and 9 year old niece really had fun trying on the hats, scarves and gloves. We got lots of terrific photos. They ordered the high tea which consisted of soup, tea sandwiches, petite desserts and tea. The scones with Devonshire cream were delicious. We appreciated the different tea cup patterns and the English Tea Room's feminine atmosphere. However I would not go there for lunch. What they advertise as quiche is not that at all. There was no crust. The western quiche was over baked eggs in a casserole dish with peppers, sausage and bit of cheese. It was dried up and awful. And while the chunky Waldorf chicken salad tasted good, it was not worth the money spent. So if you're looking for a place to go for tea and desserts or high tea, I would recommend the Olde English Tea Room.

What a great place for friends to get together to celebrate the holidays! The food was delicious and the service was great. We get together once a month and this was an interesting setting for our monthly lunch. The food did not disappoint and the tea menu is extensive. We plan to make this an annual event.

Nice selection of Teas. Food was good, limited operating hours daily, but good atmosphere and not place to relax.

We were seated in front of the window and it was a tight fit for a party of four. Seemed cramped with uncomfortable chairs. Our server appeared to be new and was not fully attentive (slow on refills and checking back). The food was pretty good, but not great, but it wasn't expensive, so not terribly surprised. Choice of sides was limited (choice of 3). Parking is limited due to the location. Interesting place to have lunch for small groups of women.

I had 2 small children with me (this was a birthday lunch for my 5 year old). It was cute for a girly lunch but not the greatest for small children. The food was overpriced for what you got and it seemed like it took forever for our waitress to come back and see if we needed anything and I finally had to flag her down for our bill since my 3 year old was getting restless. It wasn't busy at all so I'm not sure why the service wasn't that good but it was a cute experience for a 5 year old girl. I wouldn't return there in a regular basis but maybe for a special occasion.

My girlfriend who is from Ireland wanted to go to a tea house that knew how to server tea. When we got there, it was quiet & very quaint. We ordered Irish tea and scones for two. She had mentioned the tea was a little weak but we waited for it to steap, but she wondered where the cozy was as the tea began to slowly cool down. the scones came out in the shape of a piece of pie; she had mentioned that is odd, but they were good. We never received our milk until I asked for it. So she had plain black Irish tea with sugar and I plane tea both cold and bland. I have an English lady friend of mine maybe I will suggest the place to her even though I have known her since I was a child.

Tea room was ok....our table seemed to be placed in a tight position near bathroom entrance area; lots of traffic going by our table; restaurant was not that busy and we were placed in same room with a very, very large party and that made it very difficult to have a quiet dialogue with friend at lunch;I think we should have been seated in another room as other rooms appeared empty; waitress was very attentive; food was average, typical tea room food. Some items seemed a bit pricey for lunch. Restaurant was VERY cold - take a sweater for sure!!! Like atmosphere in Wake Forest and would return for lunch.
