Magical place with incredible food and attentive, relaxed staff. Highly recommended!
We had a lovely evening celebrating our friend's birthday. It was a quiet night due to the coronavirus situation but all was clean and carefully handled. We enjoyed meandering around outside on the spacious grounds and charmingly lit pathways with our drinks as the sun was setting. Our meal was exquisite and the service perfect. I would definitely recommend to friends and look forward to returning soon.
Food, service, and ambiance was excellent!
We enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. We will return.
Tasty brunch, amazing live music, friendly staff, cozy environment
I should have warned our server that with a toddler we wanted to order sooner than we were able. Otherwise, another great experience. Love the ambiance, especially the live music.
We have been going to Old School Farm to Table for the last three years and we really enjoy their brunch on the weekends. So happy that they brought back the Full Farmers Breakfast. Also, their Croughnuts are to absolutely DIE for!!! The Cherry Limeade cocktail was very tasty.
A great brunch with a friend; it was our first time at the restaurant; she has proposed we stop changing locations when we can get together and just make this our brunch spot. Loved it.
The Bluegrass Brunch at The Old School was so fun! It's a beautiful spot for brunch and the live entertainment was fantastic. We had a table of 5 including one busy toddler and the service could not have been nicer. We tried the assortment of baked goods, which all were terrific and then two of us had the breakfast pizza - a true work of art with perfect poached eggs and the other two had the farmer breakfast. We will definitely be back!
Excellent service. Drinks were too notch. Dinner entries we okay.
Love this place! great service, delicious cocktails, good food. The staff is available for any questions, recommendations, and even just to chat. Love the small plates and rotating menu options. Entrees are just a tad overpriced IMO.
We always love coming here. Had some friends in town and they loved it also. The staff is always amazing and the food is some of the best our City has to offer. True craftsmanship. Already looking forward to our next visit :)
We love old school farm and often recommend to our family and friends
A wonderful experience in a unique setting ! Loved the music! First date after 35 years apart for Sunday brunch. Listening to bluegrass yet able to talk/hear one another and out of the way/private. No hussle/bustle of downtown Nashville yet only a few minutes away. Would recommend to couples and families! Love the farm to table menu and philosophy. You have to go!
My breakfast pizza was delicious.
Food was good, expensive for what was served. Drinks are pretty costly in small glasses. $100 for 3 people to eat lunch, only 2 mixed drinks (to me that is expensive). Service was decent. Ambiance was good, very cool ideas for what they have planned. We will definitely try it again though.
They were not prepared for Valentine’s Day. They planned two seatings but did not have enough staff to manage the flow. Guests were forced to huddle in the hall with no host, no organization and no restaurant staff there to manage the crowd. We could not even check in with someone to let them know we had arrived until 30 minutes after our reservation time. That’s how long the line was to even talk to a staff person. They charged a premium for a very sub par experience. I felt ripped off. We have been many times previously. I used to recommend this restaurant to everyone. This was an unmitigated failure on their part and I can not recommend this to anyone going forward. They made no attempt to recover from their mistakes. They did not even acknowledge their short comings.
Valentine’s Day dinner. Normally The Old School is fantastic, but they were overwhelmed and unable to provide the service I would expect for a $300/2 person dinner.
AMAZING! It was the Valentines meal and all we can say is that the chef is amazing... she has never disappointed on meals in the past but tonight she out did herself!!
Valentines menu was extremely overpriced and the staff seemed to be unprepared for the evening. There should’ve been at the very least a wine pairing added for the price.
Had a great meal and entertainment as well. I got the Winter Paradise cocktail came with a smoldering sprig of rosemary which was very different and good!. For my entree, I got the mushroom tartine with a poached egg on top with side salad of fresh greens which was great!
The food was fine, but the service was terrible. We thought the waitress forgot about us before she came back to take our order, and we were virtually the only new people in the restaurant. We were there for brunch, and the daily special was a bloody mary with bacon for $15.00 and it was dreadful. I only drank a small portion.
On the plus side, the atmosphere is lovely and the decor is extremely well done. We'll probably give it another chance, just to see if we hit it on a bad day. The dog park was awesome and we can envision having drinks outside with appetizers, etc.
Best little place outside of Nashville----classy, rustic-chic. Low lights in the evening with good cocktails and great food. Would like to see the wine program grow---some natural options would be nice. Overall, highly recommend for a well-paced evening that's a little out of the norm. Leans on farmhouse-chic. Balanced well.
I love this place and will come again. The food is delicious and I really love the ambiance.
What a treasure, right outside the city. The food, vibe, music, location are all amazing. We look forward to returning often, and I am especially excited about the new music opportunities there. What fun to hear music and not be competing with drunk tourists. :-)
The food was exciting, imaginative and delicious. The service was very warm and welcoming as well. I also love knowing that I’m supporting a wonderful non-profit every time I eat there!
The place is wonderful, the food imaginative and intriguing. The service was good; the waitress made very good recommendations and was very knowledgeable. There was one slight problem easily remedied: our brunch orders came to the table tepid, even cool: there needs to be a better system to let the waitstaff know that dishes are ready to be brought to the table. The food was very good, even cold, but would have been better if eaten as the chef intended it to be.
Food had so much potential, but our entire party each that their entree needed a sauce/or something additional. Pork was extremely dry. cocktails mediocre. Starters great. silk pie / sorbet / and lemon blueberry thing AMAZING .
We made a reservation for 2:15pm on Sunday...the hostess called us and told us that’s the time when the kitchen takes the last order, and asked if we wanted to come in earlier. When we got there, she greeted us by name. As we were being seated, the music was very loud. The hostess immediately stated she would turn down the music - without us asking! A+ for customer service!
Our server, Connie, was wonderful and attentive.
The food was great! Our teenage son was still hungry after eating the oxtail, but that’s nothing new...
This place was a derelict school and now is a thriving and conscientious business!
Have loved this place for a while now. Serene and sophisticated, and totally unpretentious.
The only 4 star was because there was really no clear markings in how to get to the restaurant once we got there. If the weather hadn't been 20 degrees it would not be an issue but it was cold figuring out where to go!!!!
It’s a little out the way but worth it they have amazing food! The staff is friendly and overall had a great time
Loved the atmosphere! Great place to get brunch the savory cronuts are a must try!!!
I’ve eaten there 3 times prior and this time was a disappointment. The entertainment had left by 1 pm on Sunday. The kale salad was just fair. The added ham was a few shavings. The omelette was ok. It came with no bread and none was offered or suggested by the server.
Best brunch in Nashville, hands down
Was really looking forward to my visit here, and I hate to say I was somewhat disappointed! The menu was very heavy on meats (at least 3 different pork options) and lacking in vegetables. Maybe it’s the winter season, I’m not sure. Even the grilled vegetable of the day was an apple (?). We loved the pork hash, though. The bakers basket was somewhat odd to include a sugar cookie for brunch, but everything in the basket was very good. We may try again for dinner in the spring and hope to have more of “farm” in our farm to table meal.
Food was just “ok”
Service was great!
Price was high for what we received and we’ve eaten out all over the world.
The Old School Farm is my four granddaughters’ favorite place to go for brunch. I enjoy being with them in such a lovely place with such a great menu. It’s a pleasant drive in the country and well worth the effort to get there.
A hidden gem! Easily accessible from Nashville and surrounding areas. Beautiful cozy venue for couples or groups. Delicious farm to table menu that changes seasonally, extensive bar with a good selection of wines as well as specialty cocktails. A treat for the senses.
Fabulous place! We will be back
