Pub
The Old Clubhouse Pub has been the site of good times and warm welcomes since 1876 when it served as the original clubhouse of the Machrihanish Golf Club back in the days of Old Tom Morris. The atmosphere at The Old Clubhouse is one of a relaxed old-world style golf pub serving up delicious pub food and gourmet dinner offerings before becoming the site of nightly revelry for locals and guests alike. The meticulously restored interior has been masterfully crafted to recreate the pub as it may have looked more than 100 years earlier. As regulars and visitors will attest, the pub food and drink here are truly some of the finest you will find.

Food was really terrific and reasonably priced. All very fresh and hot. The whisky list was decent and fairly priced. A nice spot to be on a cold and rainy evening.

We have visited this "local" restaurant a number of times and have always had good service. This time, after enquiring at the beginning of ordering what the "quiche starter" was, and being told it was broccoli and cheese, found the ones served contained ham - I don't eat meat. It was changed reasonably promptly without fuss, but it still put a slight dampener on what was otherwise a good evening.

Pleasant traditional building and Victorian styled interior, close to the beach for an after-dinner walk. Reasonable menu and agreeable staff.

It was our last evening of our friends’ 4 day visit and the extremely poor service was really disappointing. Not what we had anticipated.

We had a lovely lunch sitting outdoors, had three children with me who loved the little outdoor games and the space to play around while they waited on lunch. Food was delicious, great menu, relaxed atmosphere and staff very friendly and attentive - will be back soon 😊

Lovely food, great choice and use of local ingredients. Portions were massive and it was impossible to eat all that was put down in front of you. Staff were friendly and efficient. We stayed on the for the pub quiz which was great fun especially since we won!! A great evening of food and fun.

Staff were lovely. Friendly and attentive and happy to help whenever they could. Service was quick. Food was ok although a couple of things could have been better. Fish or batter was not seasoned enough in the fish and chips which made it quite bland over all. The haggis nachos were also a bit dry as the nachos used had a lot of seasoning on them which made them powdery and there wasn’t enough sauce underneath the cheesey layer to compensate for this. Although this won’t stop me going again, this wasn’t the best meal I’ve had at the old clubhouse.

Excellent meal as always. Loved sampling the new additions to the menu - the sticky Korean ribs are to die for! Friendly service, looking forward to our next visit already

The noise from the bar area made us unable to talk to one another. The foul language and the boisterous nature of the people there made us uncomfortable. One even jumped on the bench beside us to talk to people behind us. Complained to the manager and he asked some to leave, one or two did to smoke outside the open door which then wafted inside. The noise and behaviour did not improve and the manager did not follow through on his request. We left our unfinished meals within the hour. Despite being obviously under the influence, they were still being served drinks as we left. Having spoken to other diners, that night they were disgusted with the behaviour and how it was dealt with, mostly locals too. Hadn't had a bad meal there, before, but the ambience does not suggest a quick return.

This was our 2nd meal here this weekend and overall the food has been fantastic, burger, haggis nachos, tacos, good kids portions and a good gin selection. 1 st night service was excellent, 2nd evening it was a little patchy with us having to ask for cutlery and wine lists more than once but this shouldn’t detract from an excellent pub.
