Sat outside and watched all the yachts go by. Gumbo was outstanding as well as the shrimp quesadillas. Will be going back.

Love the decor and atmosphere here. Service was top notch. Noise level was a pleasant surprise. There are many restaurants in Rockwall that are so loud we don't frequent them any longer. We don't mind some energetic chatter, but when you have to shout for the person at your table to hear, it makes for a very uncomfortable dinner. The menu has some great choices. Our group had lobster bisque, a fancy salad, veal, and halibut. Everything was delicious but, the halibut was a bit overcooked and dry. All in all, very pleased and we will be back for sure.

The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed what they ate. The only thing we had a problem with was it seemed like it took our waitress longer than it should to check on us or complete tasks. I don’t know how many tables she had but it didn’t seem that busy. Thankfully everything we ordered was amazing. Also the bartender made a amazing mock tail for us to celebrate my mom’s birthday that wasn’t on the menu.

The was our first time at Oar house and we have to say, this was an amazing time. Robert was our server and he did a fantastic job explaining the menu, providing us stellar service and even telling us a little about the restaurant. But that wasn’t all. The whole staff was fantastic as they always took care of our table and never left us unattended. Food was amazing and worth the price tag. Definitely coming back again and hope you all will pay them a visit.

This was a great place for a first date for two of us in our 20’s known to be “old souls.” My family has been coming here for years, and from outside of the Oar House, has made friends with the main chef. The food is always incredible and the atmosphere is very pleasant. A very nice place to go for dinner and conversation.

It was a nice place- would have been noisy but there were only a few other people so it was very quiet and private. Food was ok. Really expected better for the price - nothing special. The service was fine but not especially attentive. Overall a nice place and evening but probably not my first choice for another special dinner.

The Oar House is one of my favorite restaurants. My husband and I have been dining here for years and have never been disappointed. We enjoyed a set menu for our most recent visit on New Years Eve. The food was, as usual, phenomenal. Mary is one of our favorite servers and she went above and beyond. We always choose The Oar House when we want an exceptional meal and fabulous, friendly service.

Very disappointing for a high end restaurant. Waiter wasn't attentive. Two of three meals were excellent, third was warm at best. Our waiter finally showed up, long after we had salads, and asked if we would like to see the dessert menu. We told him we would like eat dinner first. He apologized, and headed for the kitchen. From the time we set down, until we left was 3 hours. For a salad and a meal.

The service was amazing but the tables were soooo close together… I had to move multiple times to let the server by for her to put food at another table. The people at a table near us were so close (like one foot away from our table) could hear our entire conversation… way too close… the food was pretty good and well as the drinks. I would come here again but I would specify I don’t want a table so close to another table….. it was less than ideal.

A hidden gem we did not expect in Rockwall (sorry Rockwell!). Fantastic food and drinks well worth making a special trip for. My husband wanted to lick the plate and I wouldn’t let him!

It was absolutely outstanding. It is absolutely the best restaurant in all of Rockwall county and the surrounding counties. We eat there at least three nights a week, I can’t stay out of that place. Its sooooooo good!!!!

The food was amazing and the service was excellent. I had the veal and my wife had the chicken Parmesan and they were both excellent. We are definitely coming back.
