The Oaks Kitchen
We love the food at The Oaks, the atmosphere, and great waitstaff..
Yummy brunch with great desserts. Lovely indoor and outdoor seating. Great service.
Great service, perfect cocktails and good company!
My husband and I are there for the first time last week. The food and service were amazing. There was live music at the time that we went. We will definitely be going back.
Always love the over all experience! Great place!
OUTSTANDING experience! I have already recommended it to numerous individuals.
Johnny Cash provided exceptionally hospitable service, and even remembered me from a visit several weeks back! Ramon, my original server from the prior visit, as well as the manager even came by to welcome me back! There is obviously a CARING culture here and would certainly recommend to any potential patrons! The Ceviche is an amazing appetizer, and have never gone wrong with an Old Fashioned or Bourbon Smash cocktail! I have only been for dinner, and have always shared with my guests!!!
Great service. Good variety of menu items and drink selections. Great outdoor seating with live music.
We just moved to Cane Island in Aug. Friends we’ve not seen since Jan due to COVID came out to see the house and social distance at The Oaks. They never been to The Oaks and were pleasantly surprised to see this part of Texas bustling with excitement vs what they’ve been experiencing in Harris Co. They said they can’t wait to come back again. The music, food, drinks and overall atmosphere was outstanding
Had a fantastic time w friends! Food was amazing & weather was perfect! Such a great atmosphere! Always perfect & friendly service! 💕💕
I thought it was a wonderful place to go with friends. It had great food service and atmosphere. Would love to go again
Salmon was under cooked. Raw. And bread pudding was weird. Thick dense cake like. Shrimp and grits were good
We really love this place - the atmosphere is open yet warm and inviting; the food is excellent; drink menu enticing; and the service is always excellent. When we book here, they always deliver. So glad we have a place like this in our area!
The ribeye was amazing as well as the burger. My wife and I also enjoyed the pork belly appetizer.
We were greeted at the door and told they close at 3, but since we made a reservation they would honor it this time. It was quite rude. I will say our server was amazing and the food was good. We will not be going back because of how rude they were at the door.
First visit but definitely not the last! So glad we found this place! The atmosphere, the food, everything was fantastic!
This is one of my favorite places but we had a bad experience this time. I found a dead bug in my drink which freaked me out and when I told the manager he laughed and said that I should just drink it for protein. (joking but not funny). I had to wait longer for another drink and never received an apology or an offer to make it better.
Food, waitstaff, and ambience was good. Loved the live music and food.
Very slow service. Second time here and did not improve
We enjoyed our evening dining outside. We will definitely be going back!
It was nice to sit outdoors and enjoy family, music and great food and drinks! Thank you to Adam and the staff at The Oaks for making it possible.
The food and ambience was fabulous but the service was very slow. They did not seem to have enough help.
Honestly, this was my second time there and I️ was so disappointed. The first time we went, for dinner, it was an easy-going, relaxing atmosphere. A pleasant experience, and definitely left me wanting to dine again. Not likely after this last time.
Went for Sunday brunch, and the service just wasn’t the same. The drinks took a while to come out, and they hadn’t updated their menu. I️ ended up ordering something that was apparently taken off the menu, so I️ was served a downgraded version of my order. They could’ve done one of two things:
1) fix the online menu. The server mentioned to me I️ was the 4th person that day with the same issue, and that item had been off of the menu for weeks. So a simple solution is to fix it.
2) I️ could’ve been informed. My food was brought to me after a long wait, and while they offered simple pleasantries, I️ didn’t want to change my order considering the amount of time I’d waited originally.
All in all, they’ve done a lot better. It’s going to take a lot to get me back there again. I️ was thoroughly disappointed.
Service was so slow, food was wrong (I ordered a vegetarian sandwich and was served a meat sandwich instead), server kept making excuses as to why he kept taking 30-45 minutes to get us our drinks each time, but ambiance was great outside.
Excellent brunch locations with ample outdoor seating and wonderful food.
Another great evening at The Oaks. Great live music, great food, great wine, great family gathering, great service, great ______ (whatever it was, it was great:-).
My in-laws we’re visiting from Michigan and the weather was perfect for an outdoor dining retreat. A male guitarist was playing which made it extra special. The next day my in-laws were bragging to my hub’s sibs about the great restaurant they ate at. They kept referring to it as our country club 😂. I agree with everything they said! Great location, food and ambience - private club feeling. You guys knocked it out of the park yet again!!
Everything was amazing and we will definitely be back. All of the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. And the food was delicious. Great place for date night, or Sunday brunch and hanging out.
Dinner just ok. Did not like shrimp with grits at all. Fish ok, overpriced. Burger good.
Usually love the oaks but food was not good- cold and service was very slow
The food is always perfection!!! My family always enjoys everything!!!
Friend’s birthday celebration was so much fun! Great service. Such a beautiful place!
I’ve been here several times and usually something is wrong with our food. This time, after ordering the dish many times, there were ingredients inside that were not listed in the menu. Had to be remade. Ordered the lump crab meat crab cakes and found NO LUMP CRAB. Also I had a very different type of flavor which was not appealing. My mom didn’t eat it.
My wife and I invited some friends who had never been to The Oaks Kitchen. They loved it. Our food was great and the service was excellent. I had the blackened salmon, my wife the shrimp tacos and our friends had the shrimp and grits and the other a salad with a side of soup. They loved their meals and dessert. Great food, great atmosphere and a place you don't have to get all dressed up for. Casual dining experience but huge upside on the food and service! We'll keep coming back.
The food is OUTSTANDING! the service is ALWAYS top notch! We enjoy the live concerts too. Only negative was $5.00 for a bottle of beer is a bit too much.
I want to preface this to say that the food was excellent and fresh. But we did have two hiccups. Once we were seated, no waiters were approaching us. After 10 minutes, I went up to ask the hostess and she apologized and had a waiter tend to us right away. It was just a mix-up with the waiter not knowing he had our table. We then placed our orders (three mushroom swiss burgers and one chicken alfredo). Within 5 minutes, the waiter came back to tell us that the kitchen told him they couldn't serve what we had ordered since it was Brunch menu only. I showed him that the food we ordered was on the Brunch menu and if only the Brunch Menu is being served, that is what we would like, unless they just didn't have all the ingredients to make it. He went back to tell the kitchen and he was told that they would cook it. So, I was a little taken aback that they (a) didn't realize what was on their brunch menu and (b) had our waiter come tell us they couldn't serve what we had ordered instead of just cooking it. BUT, I can tell you that the burger was excellent...probably the best I have had in a long while. It was cooked perfectly and had a really great flavor. My sister said her chicken alfredo was really good too. The atmosphere was pretty busy, but nice. They had a great lady singing jazz. The waiter was attentive and quick once we cleared the initial mix-up with him. Another little annoyance was that they had the patio doors opened and a lot of flies were coming in. They gave each table a little fan to deter them, but it wasn't really working. Overall, we will be coming back.
We visit Oaks Kitchen frequently, however lately it has turned into a very loud, lot of children running around unsupervised, slow service kind of place. Maybe it's better for lunch now or dinner during school nights?
Everything was perfect! The service, the food, the ambiance! Oh and the band they had! They rocked out! They played music from every decade!!! We danced and sang! Great night!
Absolutely fantastic experience. Logan, our server was outstanding and attentive. Service was slow but expected due to the amount of customers. The chef came out and we complimented him on the food. It was fantastic. This is a great find and we will be returning. Don’t leave this place without trying the Wagyu Steak. WOW! Great place. Great food. Great chef great employees. Bravo.
