Really poor visit yesterday after a really good experience earlier in the year. All food cold. Roast potatoes were inedible, like they had been sat all day. Cauliflower cheese so dry. Told the waiter who said could replace but would take ages; no offer to remove from bill. The food is expensive and would expect much better for the prices charged. The burger was cold too.

Service was very slow due to a lack of staff meaning we sat for 20 mins before any order was taken, we had to flag down a passing member of staff to take our order. Food eventually came out but everything was cold and had clearly been sat under a hot plate for far too long. Food prices are very high with a beef roast being £23 which is on the extremely high side for the small portion size and cold food. Would not revisit this location.

Been here a few times during my visits to the Zoo and love it every time. Food is great every time as is the service. The ambience is usually good. But the MVP is the surroundings. I love the history of the place and the building itself is fantastic.

Beautiful building and decor. Staff were very friendly and accommodating to my disabled Father. Lovely with the children. Service was quick but were not rushed between mains and pudding. Food was delicious. Reasonable prices and good sized portions.

Very poor service table was almost forgotten about. This was for my son’s 4th birthday, and first time back after getting married in the square earlier this month

Quality of food is average at best, service was polite but incredibly slow for 2 drinks and 2 meals. To also be sat on a table next to clearly a previous / currently employed member of staff and hear the collective “this place is **** to work” doesn’t exactly set the right kind of ambience…

Previously eaten at Oakfield and had very nice meals but quality has greatly reduced overtime. Picked the oakfield over the zoos fast food options as was hoping for something more gastropub and other than the lovely building we were really disappointed. Very limited and “beige” menu, food was on par with their fast food outlets and our server was struggling with basic orders. Very disappointed and will probably bring a picnic in the future

Menu interesting but perhaps less burgers and more simple dishes like "pie of the day" or a pasta might attract more custom, however the presentation and quality is excellent.

We wanted to do something special to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed. It was delicious and the service was excellent

Food was very good but overpriced in comparison to other nice pubs £30 for a 6oz steak is more than I would like to pay. However it was cooked well and was very tasty. The service is a little slow and it can be hard to get the waiting staff's attention. It was quiet when we were in.
