I love this restaurant. We've been about 4 times and this most recent time was the only slightly disappointing one. My lamb entree was pretty boring, but everything else was delicious as usual. Good service as well.

Everything was awesome as always! Waitress and food was set too perfection. We will be returning for more of our business meetings in the near future.

The pacing was a little on the slow side - half an hour between salads and mains - but perhaps that's just the Southern way! Our server was great and the kitchen superb.

I'm not sure I would rush back to The Oak Table for a special occasion. There are better restaurants in Columbia. The service was so slow. Once we got the server to the table, she was excellent and knowledgeable. It shouldn't take three hours to eat.

The food at the Columbia location doesn't match the restaurant in Charleston. It's a disappointment.

The waitress was not well informed with the specials. 2 hours for a steak and fish meal is ridiculous. The quality was average. Not worth $100

Came to The Oak Table to celebrate a post-graduate Commencement and my mother visiting from overseas. Understandably, the restaurant was booked up later in the evening so we were seated at 5pm as a party of six. Outstanding service from Amanda - very knowledgeable about the menu and its ingredients, and she made we had everything we may need. The food was delicious; one of our party had the NC Snapper and said it was perhaps the best fish he had ever eaten. The Cava was reasonably priced and a very nice accompaniment. The most meaningful part of the evening was the restaurant's willingness to prepare the grilled cheese from the lunch menu as a special request. It truly made for a memorable occasion - I am so grateful for the way we were taken care of. Thank you.

We felt rushed - We were going to order more, but had had enough. The restaurant was practically empty at 6:30 when we left! I have been coming there since they opened - many, many times - and have noticed a real drop -off in service and staff training.
Great location, and food, so it is unfortunate at those prices to have bad service.

Overall the food was great, however the oysters were a bit small and were just mostly shells no oysters. Despite this I would still go back but I would be careful what I order.

The filet dish was one of the best, and while I know it may seem trivial, I love a place that has great dinner rolls... these might have been the best ever

The appetizers were really good. The service was so slow that they had to comp our drinks and give us free dessert. The main dishes were mediocre. If I went again I would just get an app and dessert

Went there for husband's birthday. Disappointed that there weren't adequate menu options for kids. Birthday boy had the fillet which was amazing and I had the muscles which were also very good. Our daughters fish was dry and son's flat iron steak was a bit over cooked. Bianca, our server, was amazing and really tried to make up for short comings. I would give it another try (without kids).

My wife and I had an incredible meal from a special fish dish entree to the desserts. Two tips: 1) if they have crab grits, order them. 2) you cannot go wrong with the bread pudding dessert. When back to Columbia we will return.

This place is known for beef, but the seafood preparation and presentation is stellar. Best softshell crab ever. Tempura batter of benne seed flour and sparkling water. Excellent service by knowledgeable serber.

Long wait time for food. Roughly over an hour between our initial appetizers and salads. Hostess apologized for the wait time, yet didn't seem to want to do anything about it besides asking if we wanted more drinks. Early in the evening as well (6:30p) and they were not inundated with patrons. I understand delays, but if you charge roughly +$30 average entree in Columbia, then you should be prepared to match that price with service. Comping a plate, instead of asking if our table wanted to pay $70 for another round of drinks (6) seems rational and would of put my review up to 4 for service. I've had other meals at Oak Table, so this was an exception, but nonetheless indicative of their service practices.

Really overall pleasant experience this trip. This was our first time back in several years. Food was very good, seating was poor, young lady who I assume was the manager stopped by and was very pleasant. My complaint was with our server who was ok when he stopped "telling" me what I wanted to drink and finally listened. When people tell you they have reactions or allergies to certain foods staff needs to listen or there will be problems. I'll go back but I will ask for a different table and different wait staff.
Overall this is a good spot.

Great restaurant, but if they serve weak french press coffee and serve a poached egg that is more like hard boiled are they worth the $$$$.....? I applaud the effort to be cool but keep it real Oak Table.

First visit for a luncheon meeting with two board members. Nice environment, unobtrusive service, and a well chosen menu - a variety of choices but not overwhelming. The chef has skillfully chosen ingredients that work well together but are comfortable for non-foodies. The fish tacos (skate with cornmeal breading) were great. A cosmopolitan experience, at a good value.
