Came in and was placed in the dinner area with a view of the state capital. Really delicious food with a local server with great ideas for my date night with my gf.
Delicious food choices. Every course was fabulous! If I could eat here everyday, I would!
I love the relaxed feel of this place . Quiet place for a nice date night, although the noise did increase a little as other guests were waiting for their tables.we went during restaurant week and tried the quail. Very good. I definitely would return to try more dishes. Service was well-timed and friendly.
The service was great and the food was great from the first course to the last. No complaints on the food! Its an expensive night out but definitely worth the experience.
Amazing food and service!! 10/10 would recommend to anyone that is looking to take family and friends to celebrate special occasions.
Went for Sunday Brunch. The food was all delicious; everyone enjoyed the appetizers and entree’s. Most of all, the staff was very accommodating and our server (Ryan) was outstanding. Can’t wait to return for dinner!
Great ambiance and amazing food
Chef Todd is hands down the best chef in Columbia. Everything was incredible! Our server, Ryan was very professional, informative, and friendly! I definitely recommend this restaurant. I cannot wait to go back!
We sat at a big table in the northeast corner. It was too dark; hard to see the menu and the food etc. Need more light...or at least more than one candle. Food was delicious, but should have been warmer. I had cooked carrots with my quail (delicious), but the carrots were TOO SALTY. Our main server was Ryan, who was excellent!
The food has been exceptional every time we’ve been. They ran out of the appetizer I wanted but the suggestion from our server was even better than what I had ordered. One cocktail from the bar took a long time on this specific visit but other than that we had a great experience. We requested a specific table and the staff was more than happy to accommodate. I love the view and atmosphere as well.
As a resident of a food city (Washington, DC), I find dining options in Columbia to be generally abysmal. A friend recently came across a write up on Oak Table and a few other Metro spots in Food and Wine magazine and sent me the link. Needless to say, I was stoked.
I visited Oak Table on Christmas Eve, so the menu was very limited. That said, our meal was very enjoyable. The food was of a much higher caliber than any other restaurant I've visited in Columbia (that's not an exaggeration). Definitely executed the level I expect when going out for a decent bite. Looking forward to visiting this island of truly edible food again next time I'm in Columbia.
Great family brunch spot! Food was delicious and creative - not the usual eggs Benedict etc. . Good bar drinks and a great atmosphere. Surprisingly not really more expensive than brunch at other high volume noisy places.
Graduation Brunch was wonderful, great service. Would recommend highly.
So happy to see a new menu! Duck cassoulet was delicious and strip steak was well prepared, tender and very tasty. Much improved from past experiences. Only drawback is there are no substitutions. Changing fries for veggies seems a small thing but chef refused. However, I’m glad to know COLUMBIA is starting to improve its dining venue.
Everything was fantastic - wanted a Christmas environment and it was great. Quiet. Beautiful tree and a nice Christmas soundtrack. Service was awesome.
Went on a date and was a well-done and appropriate for a date.
My second meal at the Oak Table and a very good experience again. Very accommodating and attentive wait staff. Bar selections, appetizers and main courses were all excellent. Simple, varied menu offers a good variety of farm to table fare that was prepared exactly as ordered. Temperature and taste were exceptional. I would heartily recommend The Oak Table to anyone looking for a quality experience meal for a business meal or a special occasion.
The food was really good (although very eclectic). For my small plate (appetizer) I had the seafood tartine and I could have eaten 3 more they were spot on! I had the catch for the day as my entree and the crown jewel was the Pimm's Cup! Service was friendly and attentetive even though there were several large parties.
Overall good. Has a lot of potential.
Excellent service, well-prepared inventive menu, great wine list. We came here for my birthday, and it's now one of my favorite Columbia restaurants. Highly recommend!
Overpriced for what you get. My $35 steak was as good as any at Longhorn. Another entree at the table was a beef rib that was 75% fat. It was a mess to try to eat. Even though the bone was out for some reason it was on the plate taking up a ton of space. With all that fat to pick through the bone was in the way. The dessert was definitely worth the $8. The wedge salad was worth the $11 as well.
I've been 4 or 5 times and had unremarkable experiences. This is the first time I felt motivated enough to leave a review. So maybe a good place to go for small plates and dessert but skip the entree if price matters.
Wonderful food and very good service. Delicious seasonal butternut squash salad. GORGEOUS view of the State House Christmas Tree from the dinning area. We’ll be back!
The Oak Table never disappoints but last night was by far superior! My husband said his quail entree was the best entree he had EVER had anyplace. The butternut squash salad could be a meal on its own. Delicious! The service is always wonderful and Cameron went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was awesome!
Oak Table is a great restaurant. cozy atmosphere with great staff and not the same old same old on the menu.
Ryan was our server and he was amazing! His mastery of the menu was the finest detail of the experience. He was able suggest the best items from the menu to fit our dairy-free, no beef, no pork "food profile." Great attention to the details of our meal could be observed from the managers' whispers to the chef to the runner who delivered our entree. Having food sensitivities often garner exasperated responses, which produces exasperating experiences. On the contrary, Ryan and the team gave us concierge treatment. As the menu evolves to include more options that fit within our "food profile" (adopted from Ryan) :-) we will happily return!
Date night with my husband for our second visit to Oak Table. Disappointed that with a reservation we waited for 35 minuets for a table. Once seated we were crammed between 2 couples so tightly it was uncomfortable. Even the wait staff can’t stand beside the table without their rear being in someone’s face. Table service was good and food was average but in all it was a very pricey experience.
Excellent as always! Impeccable service, phenomenal cuisine, a progressive wine program! What more could you ask for in Columbia.
Disappointed in not being seated quickly even with a reservation. 25m early arrival but had to wait until exact reservation time even though the table was available. The manager didn't visit or acknowledge until the bill arrived. The wait staff chatted and fixed their hair in view of the customers an an open kitchen area. In the open kitchen area, one preparer wiped his face, and his ear without gloves or washing. The valet wasn't at his station when we arrived after our meal. Very disappointed in this caliber of restaurant given the expense and expectation. Both entrees were good, but on the "cold" side as if they weren't served when ready.
The food and service were very good. Had the steak and mashed Potatoes. The potatoes were out of this world.
Had great service from Elise. Food was very good. Perfect portions. Unusual drinks. Nice view of state capital.
Thanksgiving dinner and it was absolutely fabulous. Food was delicious and our server, Natalie, was delightful. Definitely will return.
Went on Thanksgiving, last minute reservation through Open Table. Decor a bit sterile and modern. Food was excellent! Service as well.
Excellent food. Great bar! Good vibe. There for h9liday celebrations and was perfect.
Very good meal and an attentive service staff. Group had a mix of ravioli and quail. Both meal choices were excellent. Couple of requests for extra bread were met quickly. Nice cocktails before meal. All in all and good place for a nice meal on any occasion.
Party of 12 - 2 reservations of 6 each for the same time. They sat the first 6 and would not seat the other due to "lack of enough menus" and "not wanting the kitchen staff to get backed up". However, only 2 other tables had customers and 2 customers sat at the bar. Otherwise, the place was empty. Food came out and steaks were tough and chewy. Hamburger was raw after ordering well done. Hamburger came out a second time and was still undercooked. Management handled well by comping bill. Server and bartender were excellent. However, would not revisit.
Incredibly slow service. Waited at bar 20 minutes for them to seat us even thought table was open. Took another 20 minutes after being seated to get a cocktail. Waited an hour for ok food. Too many good places in town to bother with the Oak Table.
The coffee was weak. When brought to the waiter's attention, nothing was done and we were charged. Food was pricey for portion and brunch.
Amazing experience! Food was both beautiful and delicious as always. Service was extremely knowledgeable and on top of it.
The service was great and the NY Strip was delicious.
Service was great. Food was just ok. Started off with vegetable tartine- a lot of effort on presentation but very awkward to eat. Venison entree was uninspired and average at best. Best part of meal was the service.
