Beef brisket slow-cooked in red wine, served with Roquefort in crusty French bread

Tender chicken marinated in a blend of spices, served golden on a bed of salad and fresh chillies

Slow roasted pork belly served in a duo of bao buns with hoisin, quick pickled veg, and Sriracha mayo
The Burger

Very cramped can seat a maximum of 20 comfortably but they managed to cram a part of 10 and a part of 8 by the door which was a fire hazard. The menu was limited and only gluten free option was cheese on toast! The seating as above was cramped but also uncomfortable as very narrow wooden benches or chairs with a few cushions. The service was pretty appalling and we sat for 15 minutes before seeing a free member of staff (there were only 4 other diners in there so not sure why they were so pre-occupied) and only then when we approached them were we informed it was counter not waiting service. As usual the beer you always want wasn’t on tap and it was quite pricey for a 2/3rd of a pint. All in all would not go again.

Great dog friendly restaurant in the centre of York. Dogs and their humans made very welcome. Unusual menu but very tasty. Limited space and limited soft drink choices.

Lovely evening. Enjoyed the poetry night that was going on in the background. Tasty food. Good atmosphere.
