French fries were good. Other food portions very small for the price. Needs a bathroom on the first floor. I had to go through a private party on the second floor to get to the ladies room.
I would recommend NoMad as a fun place to meet for drinks. The cocktails are unique and truly the best part of the restaurant. The food was very average, but the hotel was lovely.
My friend ordered a medium rare burger, they sent us rare and completely forgot the fries... which we had to follow up with on our own because our waitress never did the 5 min follow up after back waiters dropped food off. Alcoholic drinks were good. Setting was good. They had good intentions with their service but it was too slow for them to not be on their p and q’s... I’ll also say they did their due diligence in making it up to us. Won’t be returning though.
This was my first time at the NoMad Restaurant and it was great. The decor of the hotel is wonderful and I think the salad I ordered was one the best that I have ever had and the service was fine.
We were extremely impressed with the staff, friendly, courteous and patient with my special request. The food was delicious, we wanted to try everything!! The stand out dish for us was the scallops. Will be back with others for sure!
Service was great! The food was binge worthy. I would highly recommend the crispy potatoes and the fried chicken.
Always a delight to visit. Staff is attentive, food is wonderful.
Nice quiet breakfast meeting
The LA version seems very off brand compared to NYC. I felt i was eating at an el torito located in a hotel lobby in an old retirement community.
Food was good. Service was very bad. Overall.. meh... uneventful and mediocre.
Dinner review: It’s a very cool place. Nicely appointed. Tastefully retro.
It pretends to be a tapas menu, but it’s really just medium and large plates or mains and sides to the rest of us. Limited choices but everything was delicious. We had the fried potatoes, fruit salad, cauliflower, and scallops. My guest enjoyed the honeycomb dessert.
Service was rushed. Unnecessary given a slow Tuesday night. No sensitivity on pacing. Waiter was a bit gruff and seemed put upon to help with selections. Based on that I wouldn’t recommend. Given some of the other reviewers said the same thing I suggest Managment address it.
Our waiter was absent minded. Disappeared several times. Completely forgot one of our entrées. Left without silverware when food arrived for several minutes. Such a Disappointment.
We loved Jo
She was lovely. The roasted chicken was amazing as was the ice cream crunch desert. This is my second time this week.
Extraordinary experience and service in LA. We went celebrate birthdays for my aunt there. They were so accommodating and patient with the whole group, made a lot of good recommendations.
The food is superb. First glance to the menu it looks like the food we would normally see in the restaurant in LA. Selection was not overwhelming so we weren't holding any expectation. Until the food are on the table, it was beautiful, joyful presentation for each dish, flavor was delicious, unique and balanced. I feel like I will never be able to eat same taste anywhere else.
They are dedicated to provide the best they can, all their servers, manager went above and beyond to help us experience their best. We also had a kitchen tour, they put candles on the dessert, provided us with celebration drinks to the birthday girls.
We had a total blast, appreciated all the people there who made this night so unforgettable and easy in such elegance.
Fantastic place...outstanding food and experience
Lovely restaurant in beautiful hotel. We enjoyed splitting the large vegetable entree with the mushrooms. Also the calamari and the scallops. Great ambiance and lovely decor.
Update: I wanted to a write a new review but for some reason I was unable to so I'd like to update this one. We did go back at the invitation of a manager and had a much better experience. The timing of the meal was still leisurely (it's perfect for a meal with someone you want to sit and talk to but not the right place for you if you're trying to have a quick meal) but we never felt ignored. I really want to stress that the busboys are amazing, they always kept our waters filled and cleared our table quickly. This time we were able to focus on the food, the crispy potatoes are SO GOOD, the milk punch is my favorite thing and my new obsession, and for dessert there's a milk and honey ice cream plate that was a joy to eat.
This is my second time here, I would say that I was much more disappointed by this experience. With a restaurant of this caliber, coupled by the fact that they present themselves as a high-end experience, I would expect better service. We waited approximately 15 minutes after our second appetizer left the table for our entrees. In fact, we ordered another round of drinks (from a busser) and received them after our appetizer had been cleared and our entrees still hadn't come out. A 15 minute wait is sometimes unavoidable, but I would expect given these price points and the way Nomad presents itself, that our server should have at least come by to apologize for the wait and offer some bread or anything, or at the very least acknowledge that we had been waiting for a long time. Our server glanced at our table multiple times while we waited and seemed to have actively avoided our table. I might be back with friends but my husband (and dining companion) was very put off and likely will never come back for a meal.
The food and drinks, and service was excellent. We had a great table in the corner against a bookshelf. Unique bank-vault bathroom, awesome rooftop bar.
The food and ambiance was wonderful but the service was poor. It took too long to get our beverages and when our meal was brought out we had to ask for silverware. The main waitress did not check in work us. However when the bill came as soon as she put it down she stepped away for less than a minute and came right back and expected payment.
I have been here several times; KNOW that you will need to HAVE TIME to relax for a meal/drinks - service is slow.
Beautiful restaurant, Delicious Food, and quick and easy valet service
Great food and service. The hostess could improve on customer service. Other than that amazing experience!
Celebrated a friend’s birthday here. We had a blast! As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was in awe. The aesthetic, me and my friends were amazed. We tried their dine LA menu and the food was bomb. From the starter to dessert. So so good.
The drinks as expected were fantastic and the food was delicious, however, the service was a little slow and inattentive in my opinion. Definitely coming back for the drinks, the LA Sour was perfect.
Came there for Dine LA. Hanger Steak was amazing! Great drink selection. Really good bang for your buck. Service was polite and attentive!
If you are a fan of classic architecture and like the idea that the Bank of Italy (precursor to Bank of America) building is now a restaurant, you have found your niche. This place is beautiful, the service impeccable and the food delightful. We first went to the roof/pool side bar and that is studding. The service was professional and respectful. The clientele was just ok however, with 2 women getting a bit tipsy and tripping themselves out of the bar. When we went to dinner downstairs (don't make the mistake I did thinking the restaurant is on the rooftop - the staff is so professional I got a call before I arrived to clear up any confusion as to where I thought my reservation would be) everything had the feel of old school and I love that. Most of the patrons were "dressed up," which I also love but rarely see. All in all I can't think of a better meal that I've had in the last 20 years in L.A.
We ended up not eating at the restaurant because the host was so rude that I refused to eat there. I had arrived for the reservation, but the person with me had some parking issues and they would not seat us until they were standing with me. The host already got testy and rude, though the situation was explained to her. Once they arrived, the host then told us she would not honor the Dine in LA menu for us. We still are not sure why, but it was obviously her own decision. The other kind person helping at the front (I think she was Jamaican) said she was in the wrong and she should not have told us that. She realized how rude she was being. I offered to just go to my companion and she rudely smiled and said shortly "OK", which just got us more upset. We asked to see the manager, which then she responded rudely "Which one?", then she continued to delay, and then could not find the manager or they were busy... It was late at this point, we asked for their card to not wait longer, and she opened a box with multiple cards... how are we supposed to know who is on that night. We asked to give us the one that was working and left. I live and work in the neighborhood, so I am shocked that this my experience for my first time someplace I was looking forward to trying with a friend visiting. I will never to back and will make sure everyone who asks for recommendations to avoid this establishment.
The décor of the restaurant and bar are very unique. The first bartender was not very friendly then Elliot came and saved the beginning of a great evening. We are coming back with other friends this weekend hopefully it will not disappoint.
Amazing space!! Absolutely beautiful. Love the beautiful sofas and chairs. Food was good but entrees were served at room temperature instead of warm
Kind of pricey for the type of food served. Their most popular dishes only available for dinner. So, I would say, come only for dinner.
Fantastic space and delicious food. Wonderful spot for a special occasion. The duck is not to be missed. Cocktails are stylish and original. WIll definitely be back.
Everything was great except for the service bring a little slow. We waited several minutes for someone to wait on our table. It took forever to get the check, the waiter completely disappeared. We tried to order a desert for my friend’s birthday, but it took so long we canceled the order. The food was amazing.
My friends and I came here for DineLA. The standout of the first course was the fava bean hummus - the most delicious hummus I've ever tasted. 2 out of 3 of us had the hanger steak, which was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Although a bit of a cop-out for a DineLA experience (is every DineLA restaurant required to serve hanger steak?) it was a large portion and prepared very nicely. The dessert options were both terrific - my preference was the chocolate malt - delicious - and the fresh brewed coffee was a nice added touch. Also worthy of note (not on the DineLA menu) were the cocktails - I'm not much of a drinker and can take or leave cocktails, but this place has an excellent mixology dept. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back again for sure.
Great food and ambiance for an anniversary dinner.
Overall a great experience. Came here for lunch. The food, drinks and service were all good. Atmosphere is great.
A beautiful room !
For lunch, good location for intimate business meetings!
After approaching the hostess about a table and her telling us that of her next reservation was a no show, she could seat us. I made this reservation on my phone.
It took 1 hour form the time we were seated for our appetizer to get delivered to our table.
Not once did our waiter check up on us and our salty food. We practically had to call his attention to pay our bill since he was busy chatting it up ...
Great atmosphere, customer service was A1.. the menu options were super limited... this place would be a favorite if there were more options for main course dishes. The fried chicken was more like chicken tenders (but they were delicious and seasoned), the burger was pretty small but well made, the french fries were amazing and the drinks were great also.
Pricey restaurant serving a limited menu—great place if you want to order small plates and pay a high price for the privilege of being seated in a remodeled bank building with a bathroom located in the old bank vault. Your excrement is quite secure. The restaurant decor is “restored 40s” with an open concept. Fried chicken with an order of fries is one of the choices most of our party chose—who needs to order a $62 whole chicken when Costco can provide. I am unsure that the fried chicken did not emerge from an industrial size bulk bag of fried chicken—the fries could be bested by In-n-Out with little effort. The pieces of fried chicken came with a thong sized piece of onion and nothing else. To add insult to injury the price of parking will stiffen your trousers: they validate for only two hours—and with that privilege it will cost you $10–we overstayed our welcome by 30 minutes which added $8–without validation we would pay $18/hr. —initially our parking bill was $54!—>for dinner. Trendy and upscale we could wow our neighbors at the trailer park while regaling stories of expensive ordinary food presented in a downtown atmosphere of homeless encampments.
