Contemporary American
An inviting space for dining throughout the day and evening, The NoMad’s sunlit, casually-elegant restaurant and bar are on the ground floor of the hotel. It sits beneath the building’s original, 1920s blue and gold Italianate ceiling which has been meticulously restored to its full grandeur. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all served in the space, with the Giannini Bar connected for a pre- or post-meal drink.

Stunning soaring intricate ceilings and an ambience that makes one say, “Wow” the first moment you step foot into the former Bank of Italy building. Gorgeous. Food was amazing.

The Nomad restaurant is always a surprise no matter how many times you have dinner there. The room is unique to LA. The round banquet hotel seating is grand and elegant to sit in. The menu seems is different than others in LA. The choices have something for any occasion including the Fresh shaved truffles over hand made pasta. This pasta is the standard for all other pastas to be judged against. It was perfect and so well executed that other hand made pastas cannot compare. The sauces on all the dishes are simple but no way can be replicated in your home kitchen. There is a very artful group of hands at work in the Nomad kitchen. It is hard to describe the food at the Nomad because when you eat it the flavors are so much more clear and pronounced that other restaurants. Even something as simple as a grilled chicken breast sandwich with aioli is simply better and more delicious than your mouth could imagine.

The service was absolutely terrible. We had 6 different people serve us during the 75 minutes we were there. Two of our drinks were forgotten and requested additional times, one was a coffee that arrived Cold and had to be sent back for a hot coffee. We had to ask three times for salad dressing that was ordered on the side. It was very slow. It was as though the original host who took our orders did make any of the notes we made. The omelette was cold when it arrived. When we asked for a menu to see if we wanted to order a dessert. We never received the menu.
The only redeeming element of the restaurant was the space is beautiful and it’s not noisy so you can have a conversation...
Terrible.

Overall the experience was great. I went to the rooftop bar which was seriously understaffed for a Saturday night. I had to wait twenty minutes to close my tab. Even though I had a dinner reservation the rooftop staff was unable to get a message to the restaurant to hold my table, much less transfer my tab to my restaurant bill. So I waited and almost lost my table. The saving grace was the wait staff and chef at the restaurant. I had a question on the wine selection and my waiter sent over the sommelier who was amazing. Dinner was outstanding. I totally recommend the cauliflower soup. I had the beats w pesto (amazing). I can't say enough about the food. Fix communication between the different lounge areas and you get 5 stars overall.

Seated 45 minutes after reservation (we arrived on time) service inattentive, prix fixe menu was a marked up selection of items from their normal dinner menu.

Probably the worst service I’ve ever experienced. I don’t knock the Hotel, but this one particular server. I won’t make names, but f*ck this guy, and that’s a lot coming from me

Lobby Restaurant was not so comfortable as one would hope. Portions of entrees were a bit undersized, we needed desert to complete the meal but wish that wasn't necessary for calorie reasons.Service was great cocktail was just OK. Food was delicious and artfully prepared, excellent in fact!
Best of luck!

Sunday brunch was delicious. Blueberry pancakes and the burger were good. Recommend lavender matcha drink if you like these ingredients. The lady manager took care of the raw burger and overcooked eggs. Remade both of them, apologized and comped them. What a great top notch service. Beautiful interior space.

This is not a restaurant restaurant, it's a hotel restaurant which means their menu is small. The items we ordered for dinner were delicious. We tried the charred octupus and a pasta dish, both were good but not exceptional. The ambiance was nice and I can see why a lot of people like it. I wouldn't recommend this place for the food, but definitely worth it a try if you want to get a drink and enjoy the ambiance with friends. Don't do valet parking, there are public parking nearby that is a lot more reasonable.

First time dining found on this site. Had brunch celebrating anniversary; not crowded at all inside the Nomad Hotel in DTLA come in from 7th street gps sent us to 6th. There is valet and many walking distance parking lots. Room is decorated like a living room/library with a bar 2 story. Music playing thruout. Our server was attentive but food took alittle longer than expected. The lemon poppy with blueberry compote tasty and breakfast burrito was good. Enjoyed the bellinis and matchalada coffee was delicious. Price is alittle on higher end. Also open for evenings dinner with club like atmosphere bar scene would like to come back and try. Seems to be popular location hotel stay for theater people; entertainers spotted Sting walked by us during breakfast.

Been wanting to try the restaurant after coming for drinks and loving the ambiance but the food is completely over priced for what you get. My scallops and rice dish tasted like something I would get at a chain restaurant, not a nicer dining experience. And despite making a reservation, we felt like we were shoved into a random corner of the downstairs restaurant area. Too many great restaurants in DTLA to come here again. Would rather go to our staples, Terroni or Le Petit Paris.
