Amazing space!! Absolutely beautiful. Love the beautiful sofas and chairs. Food was good but entrees were served at room temperature instead of warm
Kind of pricey for the type of food served. Their most popular dishes only available for dinner. So, I would say, come only for dinner.
Fantastic space and delicious food. Wonderful spot for a special occasion. The duck is not to be missed. Cocktails are stylish and original. WIll definitely be back.
Everything was great except for the service bring a little slow. We waited several minutes for someone to wait on our table. It took forever to get the check, the waiter completely disappeared. We tried to order a desert for my friend’s birthday, but it took so long we canceled the order. The food was amazing.
My friends and I came here for DineLA. The standout of the first course was the fava bean hummus - the most delicious hummus I've ever tasted. 2 out of 3 of us had the hanger steak, which was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Although a bit of a cop-out for a DineLA experience (is every DineLA restaurant required to serve hanger steak?) it was a large portion and prepared very nicely. The dessert options were both terrific - my preference was the chocolate malt - delicious - and the fresh brewed coffee was a nice added touch. Also worthy of note (not on the DineLA menu) were the cocktails - I'm not much of a drinker and can take or leave cocktails, but this place has an excellent mixology dept. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back again for sure.
Great food and ambiance for an anniversary dinner.
Overall a great experience. Came here for lunch. The food, drinks and service were all good. Atmosphere is great.
For lunch, good location for intimate business meetings!
After approaching the hostess about a table and her telling us that of her next reservation was a no show, she could seat us. I made this reservation on my phone.
It took 1 hour form the time we were seated for our appetizer to get delivered to our table.
Not once did our waiter check up on us and our salty food. We practically had to call his attention to pay our bill since he was busy chatting it up ...
Great atmosphere, customer service was A1.. the menu options were super limited... this place would be a favorite if there were more options for main course dishes. The fried chicken was more like chicken tenders (but they were delicious and seasoned), the burger was pretty small but well made, the french fries were amazing and the drinks were great also.
All was excellent, but they add a 4% surcharge for ‘healthcare’ and when asked it is the server that has to explain it, but adds, “I can remove it if your not comfortable with it.” It’s awkward. The restaurant should either build the 4% into the prices or not have.
Pricey restaurant serving a limited menu—great place if you want to order small plates and pay a high price for the privilege of being seated in a remodeled bank building with a bathroom located in the old bank vault. Your excrement is quite secure. The restaurant decor is “restored 40s” with an open concept. Fried chicken with an order of fries is one of the choices most of our party chose—who needs to order a $62 whole chicken when Costco can provide. I am unsure that the fried chicken did not emerge from an industrial size bulk bag of fried chicken—the fries could be bested by In-n-Out with little effort. The pieces of fried chicken came with a thong sized piece of onion and nothing else. To add insult to injury the price of parking will stiffen your trousers: they validate for only two hours—and with that privilege it will cost you $10–we overstayed our welcome by 30 minutes which added $8–without validation we would pay $18/hr. —initially our parking bill was $54!—>for dinner. Trendy and upscale we could wow our neighbors at the trailer park while regaling stories of expensive ordinary food presented in a downtown atmosphere of homeless encampments.
We were having dinner one night at another restaurant when one of our dinner companions strongly suggested that we try Nomad. So we did. It was great. The dining room had high ceilings books and art pieces. All the tables were layer out so you did not have to enjoy the conversation of the people next to you. The green salad was done simply and right. I never order fried chicken for dinner, but that was done beautifully. There was a sauce with lime that was wonderful. Seared scallops were also nicely done. For dessert we had the ice cream sundae for two. Every fixing you could think of was available plus chocolate, salted caramel, and whipped cream. Cocktails were first rate. Wine was exactly what I asked for. Service was excellent. This is one of the best meals I have had period.
Always amazing service, food the gorgeous space. Thank you guys always!
Lovely time at the NoMad. Spent some time at the bar before getting to our table. Food was enjoyable, and service was on par. Will be back!
Food was amazing, which was the only reason my husband and I stayed. Cocktails were tasty. Our server disappeared into the abyss for most of our meal. We waited a really long time in between finishing courses and being cleared. Our first course arrived without silverware. Our server walked by looking around, as if checking her section, yet walked right by us. The gentleman who brought us silverware checked up on us more than she did. After finishing our last course, we sat with empty drinks and an empty table. She comes to bring us the check then says’ “wait, I have to bring you ‘things’.” It was extremely disappointing. After dessert, which was delicious, the table on the other side of the pillar was sitting with their first course.... and no silverware.
The Nomad is a beautiful place for a unique dining experience. Enjoyed Sunday Brunch, starting with a Good Bloody Mary! The highlight of our meal was the fabulous barata salad. Very unusual and very tasty. Although not inexpensive, the Nomad is a great place for a special occasion. Must see the restrooms inside the vault downstairs.
Best chicken & duck I may have ever had!
We had a lovely and quiet birthday brunch. The hotel ambience and creative decor added to the special occasion atmosphere. The food was EXCELLENT! We are all thrilled we spent our afternoon at the NoMad.
beautiful setting. Food was sadly blah. We visited the roof deck after brunch and it looked like a great place to spend a Sunday.
Delightful, delovely, delicious! It doesn’t matter why we ended up at NoMad at the right time on the wrong day. We were greeted with smiles, offered a fantastic table, and served with grace and charm. It’s not a bargain meal, but nothing of real value comes cheap.
Go. Enjoy. Go again!
Love the ambiance...the service was very good...the food was good as well although it is a very limited menu. Still will visit again and next time, will stay there as well.
The food and drinks are excellent. We had the hangar steak which was excellent, but the portions were smaller than when we were there about a month ago.
Roasted chicken was amazing
All of the appetizers and drinks were great and service and ambiance were 5-stars. The main duck dish was a bit underwhelming.
Very few food option , no surprise on the food
Great anniversary dinner! I love the ambiance and vibe of this place: 1920s hip vintage chic; classy with a book smart meets Casablanca vibe. The food is always on point, the cocktails are delicious, and service is top-notch. The little details make it an exceptional experience for me everytime. One of my favorite downtown spots for special occasions.
Great atmosphere. Interesting menu. An extensive wine and drinks menu/ list. Impressive. Service lagged at times, but otherwise it would get 5 stars all around.
I think that the Nomad Restaurant is probably now one of my top three favorite restaurants in LA, and definitely the best restaurant I have visited in the past year.
A fantastic ambiance, excellent drinks, great service, and well prepared plates.
1. Ambiance - The decoration of the main dining area is superb. My date and I sat in a room farther in the back, which itself was well laid out with about eight two-tops and two four-top setups.
2. Drinks - Had the Detox Retox and the Los Angeles Sour, both which were well mixed between sweetness and alcohol. My date thought the drinks were excellent, which to me indicates they were well made.
3. Service - The server was attentive and thoughtful. It is a welcome experience because I have had poor service high end restaurants, which I have never understood.
4. Dinner - The Grilled Calamari and Hangar Steak are excellent. First time that I have had calamari that is not fried. Hangar steak was tender and cooked medium rare.
Def. recommend for casual meeting or date or gather around. The staff was attentive and the food was excellent.
We love this restaurant. The roasted chicken and the Nomad version of Peking Duck are both to die for.
The service (including the hostess staff) is attentive, knowledgeable, welcoming, and professional. The space is gorgeous.
A perfect night and an even better meal! We will keep coming back!!
Birthday all good
It was my moms bday. Everything was excellent. The only negative was that we waited a while before our server came to our table. We were in the restaurant for about 45 min before we got served! The food was amazing though! I was dissapointed that they didnt mention or brought my mom a little something for her bday.
Best service , ambiance and decor . I just couldn’t get enough of it . The price point wasn’t outrageous either for such great quality . The cocktails were scrumptious .
Wonderful.attentive service at every level- excellent for fun time with friends or a quiet, romantic evening with someone special.
Great Architecture and ambiance. Be sure to use the Restrooms downstairs. A true L.A. Landmark
The seafood was amazing, and the sun-chokes were the best I've ever had.
Gracious and friendly service, delicious and varied small plates, fun atmosphere. We will return.
We came for the legendary roasted chicken, one of the best and most beautifully presented restaurant dishes I've ever had. But California has banned fois gras so we got Plan B chicken. It was okay. Still a great cocktail bar and beautiful place, but I have to take it off of the "gotta go there" list in LA without that chicken. Thankfully, they still do it in Las Vegas in an even more gorgeous room.
