The NoMad Restaurant - LA
An inviting space for dining throughout the day and evening, The NoMad’s sunlit, casually-elegant restaurant and bar are on the ground floor of the hotel. It sits beneath the building’s original, 1920s blue and gold Italianate ceiling which has been meticulously restored to its full grandeur. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all served in the space, with the Giannini Bar connected for a pre- or post-meal drink.

Beautiful dining room, wonderful service & the food was really delicious. Great night!
A fun experience. It's a lazy timeframe so not for a quick bite.
Terrible attitude and service would not recommend
The only negative was the initial seating by a staff member who wasn't that pleasant. She tried seating us in the back in an area not well populated. Then she chose another seating area also not that desirable and we got an old school eye roll when we asked to be moved to a more desirable table where we were told a table was being held for a larger party. Shortly thereafter that table was taken apart and those sitting next to us, party of 2, were moved there. I wish I had gotten her name but didn't!
First time to the restaurant at the Nomad. Room is truly beautiful. Wonderful mix of old building and new design elements. An exciting place to be (see and be seen). Service was attentive. Food was interesting and pretty good. Menu is very small, too small in my opinion even though I prefer smaller menus. What we had was good but there may not be options for everyone. Will go back if in the neighborhood.
The service was poor, we arrived on time for our reservation. waited 15 minutes for hostess. I finally gave up on waiting and went it look for her. When I found her, I asked to be seated and she gave an attitude. Once seated the service did not get better. The waiter came maybe 2 time to see if we needed anything and as well seemed like he did not want to be there. Other than that the drinks were good and the food was so so.
Lovely service and decor, and the food is delicious. I’ve been twice and both times had a great experience.
absolutely awful experience. we arrived 10 minutes before our reservation and were seated immediately. once seated we were urged to order soon because they had a limited menu and the kitchen was closing soon. ordered a glass of wine each, fries and the cheese plate. the food and wine came out within 10 minutes which was great! The waiter came by five minutes after our food arrived and asked us if we needed anything else as the kitchen was closing, we asked for more Brad and he said he would go get it. He returned and said that the bread was already put away so you couldn’t give us anything further and the kitchen was already closed. He then brought over the check, and said again that that they were closing soon. They picked up her check within 25 minutes of us arriving, mind you we arrive 10 minutes prior to our reservation. Once the check was completed we weren’t even done with our glasses of wine or our food the manager came by and told us that they were shutting down and we had to leave. the tots time in the restaurant was 40 minutes...absolutely unprofessional and complete disregard for clients comfort and needs. not sure why a restaurant of this caliber would have reservations so late in the evening (10:30/10:45) if they were just going to rush people out as soon as they sat down. I also noticed other tables leaving with their full beers in hand, having to finishing them standing in the lobby, as they were ushered out as soon as ordering. I have frequented the nomad and this last experience will be my last.
The dinner menu was very limited and for that reason I son't think i would go again
A lovely place for drinks
Fun brunch with a beautiful dining room.
Wonderful beautiful room and ambience, not too crowded or noisy for brunch. Friendly staff, but very uneven attention - took far to long with drinks and second course, some dishes got cleared, some left on the table. I found the food really top quality and serving sizes just right, not the usual US oversized meals. I hope they find an experienced manager to run the whole restaurant team soon, judging from the comments they haven’t got it quite together yet. Despite that, I’d happily return any day.
What a beautiful place! Food was delicious and creative - not what see everywhere else. Definitely will come back.
Family Style eating with small portions an overpriced
Had a Great dinner. Husband's birthday and he loved it all. Great time
Delicious food, awesome presentation, surprising flavors, great ambiance. Fun night excellent service. All around incredible ambiance! 10 stars
Good steak just get it
Great room, lobby restaurant (didn’t see rooftop space) bar is excellent with wonderful crafted cocktails without being “precious”. Dining room has a fun vibe and the food is delicious and considering the location etc, very good value. A little dismayed by the wait for table - seated 45mins after reservations but I’ll chalk it up to holiday chaos. That being said, most restaurants of this caliber would do something to make it better. Service was very attentive. Looking forward to dining and drinks there again!
Fabulous dinner with the hubs while in town! Great cocktails and wine list. Absolutely loved the food, everything was so flavorful.
I've been in the restaurant twice for brunch and think it's a great place to go to converse with someone whom you haven't seen in a long time. It is relatively quiet and there is a good distance between tables and hasn't been crowded either time. The restaurant and hotel are beautiful and nicely located in the Downtown LA area.
Now I understand what all the fuss is about. A very enjoyable evening.
One of my favorites in LA. Love the creative cocktails! The ambiance and decor are beautiful. The service from the valet to the table service is excellent.
Loved the entire experience.
Terrible service, took 40 minutes past reservation time to seat, and waitress barely came by. Food took 3 hours for a 3 course meal. Horrible Christmas dinner.
We waited 45 minutes to get seated past our reservation time, plus one hour for the food to arrive. Because of this we were there for hours and, with validation, were charged $36 for valet. Ambiance is great. Overall, food or service, not worth it.
Food was incredible, scallops perfectly prepared and the family style sides were delicious. However service was extremely slow. Reservation at 7 pm. We were seated promptly but entrees didn't arrive until 8:50. They indicated that the kitchen was backed up, so I think they should have offered bread or something to tide us over.
I'll give them another chance.
We were here for the price fix Christmas dinner... it was loud, close, and the service was incredibly slow. It wasn’t our waitress’ fault, everyone was waiting over an hour between courses. No one apologized until I finally complained, and they comped our dinner. On an ordinary day, I’m sure it’s much better, but they were wildly understaffed and overbooked on this night.
Adequate service with simply outstanding food. Nothing more needs to be said.
Christmas & mom’s birthday
I don't believe I will be returning to this restaurant.
The food was good but the servings were small.
Great space, great cocktail menu, amazing food and service. Graciously accommodated my family’s many dietary needs.
Probably the best restaurant in LA. Better vibes than the NYC nomad which is stuffy and better food
I felt like the portions were so small.
We ordered the chicken for 5 people and they showed us a whole chicken but it was not what were served at all
This place is absolutely amazing a must see when you are in DTLA.
First time dining, food was good but service was lacking. Meal was almost done when I finally received my drink order. Awkward hostess stand location and hoatess needs some training.
Overall really like this space and the food. Service was slow and dismissive.
I’ve been to dinner at NoMad about a half dozen times this year. Food is excellent. The only criticism I’d offer (and one that I find with a number of otherwise good/great restaurants) is that wait staff is very attentive and responsive in the early going but tails off considerably during the last half of the meal. It took far too long to flag down server on a few occasions during last half of our meal and it somewhat soured the experience. All that said, though, it’s still a very solid choice but they could certainly enhance the experience but ensuring that servers consistently did fly bys past all the tables throughout the evening.
Flavor was exquisite. Price not equal to amount of food provided. Portions were ridiculously small. Hamburger was size of a slider but the price was that of a steak. The menu was very restrictive. There were no sufficient options. The structure, the furnishings, the decor were magical. I will not return. Once is enough.
The food was amazing. The service was horrible. Drinks ordered never showed up for the whole meal, the server disappeared, our empty plates were left on the table for about 15 min until a new waiter was flagged down & came to clear it, & the 2 item dessert list was sad & basic (“Sundae For Two” REALLY?!). The meal’s only saving grace was the amazing hangar steak (so tender, so juicy, & that chimichuri sauce tho!)...as well as the scallops which were cooked to perfection & accompanied by well though our flavors of squash & beans. Hats off to the chef & sous chefs....thumbs down for the wait staff.
Soup was cold, pasta was cold, espresso was cold, wine took a long time to be served.
