I wrote a better review on Google than I'm about to here. I enjoyed my experience. I may be back in 5 years. The prices paid mean I should get the best steak I've ever eaten at the temperature I order it at. I ordered med/med-rare, my daughter ordered med-rare, we both got rare. Don't get me wrong it was delicious, but both of our orders were wrong. This was during Taste of BG week when you and local restaurants were offering a 3 course meal for $27. I chose to order off the regular menu to get the real feel, because nobody is going to make the decision to keep coming back at your regular menu pricing. The table next to ours ordered a medium steak off your discount meal and sent it back twice, the second time refusing it entirely. Based of other reviews I see here at OpenTable, you have a problem.

Meh... for the money I doubt I’ll go back. My steak was over cooked but I didn’t complain as we had a show at skypac and wouldn’t have had time for them to remake it. My husbands beer came after his plate was cleaned....

This was our second trip to Night Cap, probably our last. We had the special 3 course dinner. The salad was a little plain and unexciting. It was fresh, but utterly forgettable. I had the shrimp and grits. The grits were really good, the shrimp was fine. We had the bread basket as an extra it was overpriced and really small and boring. My wife had the bacon wrapped sirloin and mashed potatoes. It was exactly what you would get at a chain restaurant. It wasn't bad, but not outstanding. Our friend who dined with us had the crab cakes. They were expensive and she felt not worth the money. The asparagus that came with them was overcook. The best part of the meal was the blueberry cake with maple buttercream. We made the mistake of ordering coffee with it. Our server brought the coffee and then we had to wait forever to get the cream because it was way in the back. It was ridiculous and our coffee was cold by the time it arrived. Overall, the experience was fine, but not worth a return visit.

It took forever to get a drink order. The couple next to us had a different waiter and they were waiting as well. The steak was no cooked as ordered and it was extremely tough for a filet. I had been before and the service was slow. There will not be a next time.

I ate here two years ago and absolutely loved it. The price seems to have have gone up while the quality and selection went down. My service wasn’t that good as my fiancé and I felt a little awkward and ignored. The food wasn’t bad, but we both agreed we could have had the same steak at outback and been satisfied.

The Night Cap offers a unique setting for Bowling Green, but ultimately may think a bit too highly of itself. Our bill (which didn't include alcohol) totaled $105 after two of the less expensive steak options, a simple bread and butter appetizer, and a dessert. This isn't an outrageous price, but it is the most expensive meal I've eaten in town. Also we were seated in a middle table next to a table of six that was the loudest in the restaurant, despite having reservations made three weeks in advance. On the plus side, the food was good and our service was terrific. I would hesitate to recommend Night Cap to a friend because I think the price is off-putting.

Great evening. We had the Chateaubriand for 2 for Valentines Day. Steak was so tender the fork just glided through it. Excellent food and service and the ambience was great. Can’t wait to go there again.
