The food was great (A Burger and a Thai Red curry). Service was really good. The only downside was areas of the premises were tired and need a lift. Prices were fair as the food was lovely.

Another wonderful Sunday Lunch thoroughly enjoyed. I introduced my daughter to The Newbury for the first time and she was so impressed with the food and the Beautiful decor and looks forward to returning. My favourite Newbury venue and never disappointed - I’m going there for Supper this evening and cannot wait.

Extremely average. Quality of the food was good but all felt like it had been kept warm or reheated and was served lukewarm. Our food arrived within minutes of them taking our order. Felt like it had been just served onto plates from wherever it had been kept warm under a hot plate. Yorkshires burnt to a crisp and the replacements were exactly the same. Loads of staff but all congregated around the till area chatting and it was difficult to interrupt them to get their attention. We had the same experience last time but thought it was because we booked at 4pm towards the end of the shift so this time we booked at 1.30pm, prime time and if anything worse not better. On the last occasion I’d specifically asked about vegetarian options for my daughter and was told no problem all cooked to order on the day but on the day they couldn’t offer a veggie option so offered the veggies with an extra Yorkshire… We won’t be rushing back!

We had the roast all 3 meats such lovely food. Everything you could ask for. The service however let it down. It was busy though. We got our first drinks from the bar as it was difficukt to attract the staffs eye. We also had the wrong food etc put on our bill and this was put right at the 3rd attempt.

Booked for a family meal over the Christmas week. Was a little concerned when we found the menu had been reduced as it didn't leave much choice but all our food was so tasty that we were more than happy. The service was fine but needed a little more finesse to get the extra star. No complaints though. Overall, a lovely meal.

First time eating here since change of ownership. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food although we had to wait quite a long time for it to be served. The Thai fish curry was sublime and my friend thoroughly enjoyed her Chicken Caeser Salad.

Great service and food. Husband’s steak was cooked to perfection and that has never happened before when eating out. I had the dirty turkey burger and it was the best burger I’ve ever had, should keep it on the menu all year. Our daughter had the curry (she doesn’t normally do spices) but she ate the whole lot and thoroughly enjoyed it. Starters and dessert were great value too. Highly recommend, we will be back!!

Great food, variety of choices and quality. I had the salmon and my only regret was I didn't order seconds :) Service was impeccable, nothing was too much trouble and the staff all very warm , friendly and keen to ensure our visit met all expectations. Ambience just right, very clean and comfortable and after the meal we were able to take time out to sit back, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Loved it.

The staff were very attentive and helpful. our order was taken quickly and drinks were served quickly. There was a perfect amount of time between courses and the food was reasonably priced. Unfortunately the quality of the food was simply ok. We had Sunday roast and all of the meats (we had beef and pork between us) was quite overcooked and a bit dry. The veg was fine and the gravy was good. It was a little chilly in the bar, given the freezing temperatures outside I was surprised the fire was already going when we arrived for lunch at 12:30. We had a nice time but was a bit let down by the quality of the food.

We booked a table many weeks ago for a Christmas dinner for four. Nowhere does it say when i booked that i needed to pre book the Christmas dinner. One of us are on disability benefits so couldnt afford your normal prices. When i asked we were refused the Christmas menu as we had not pre ordered. It even advertises it on your usual menu with nothing about pre ordering. I was told you had called me twice. i am not sure when but no voicemail text or email was left. If it had been i would have pre ordered. It was even accepted by a waitress that there was no info on open table about pre ordering. I must say the pork I had was lovely. Service was poor. We had to wait a long time to order. When we did order a bottle of prosecco took ages to arrive. I finally had to go to the bar. I was then bought a glass and not a bottle. It took ages to pay at the end as we simply couldn't see any staff. It was a lovely lively atmosphere just didnt feel like it was running very smoothly. You take 25% off the bill to be fair which was something but wasnt the Christmas themed event we had hoped for Sophia OHagan

Excellent. Would just suggest to ask the customers whether they’d like salad dressing on the side. But overall an excellent pub experience. The ice cream was also worth mentioning- delicious. I recommend the the flat iron steak! The peppercorn sauce is worth the trip to Newbury alone!
