The New York Restaurant
Sun 11:00 am–8:30 pm
Thursday- ambient jazz sounds.
Friday & Saturday- ranges from folk, indie, acoustic to blues and alternative.
Sunday- Live Jazz Brunch. Four piece band with voices.
Lots of good stuff from the pickle soup all the way through to excellent deserts. Just the right place to stop after a long drive. Clientele on a Sunday afternoon was mixed with friends, families, dates plus good live music which was not intrusive. Good staff.
First time here with friends. Everyone had a fantastic meal. Brussels sprout chips were very tasty , honeycomb and ricotta spread was a hit.
I’m sure we all will be back
Great service and food!
Delicious food and friendly service. Would happily return.
We were greeted, seated and drink orders were taken promptly and efficiently. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive.
The food was awesome and the fare was a complimented by the modern day rustic European pub decor with a hint of NYC flare. Will definitely be back.
Delightful music. Good service , relaxed atmosphere and pleasant food. A good find for the immediate area.
The Polish food was great, and we definitely enjoyed the two person live music set on Saturday night. What a great place to go to while on vacation here in the Catskills !!
Great food. Authentic ethnic side to menu. Really nice people. Low key, casual.
Ever had Polish pickle soup? Fantastic.
We loved the live band, food (New American with an Eastern European flair), and service!
The cowboy steak was excellent, probably the best I ever had.
Still one of my fav's. Keep up the good work, NY Restaurant.
Seating is a bit cramped, but the food made it worth our while!
My daughter and I went for mother’s day lunch before going over to Olana where we had a reservation. It took so long to get our food that we missed our tour time. The waitress must have forgotten to put our order in because everyone around us got their food. I ordered a flatbread and my daughter had avacado toast. Should that take an hour and a half to prepare? Meanwhile a person who came in 40minutes after us got the toast before she did. My food was cold so it must have been sitting for awhile. Saying sorry is not acceptable. We did not have time to finish eating and we were given dessert to go. Never again!
The food was very good but the server seemed under trained. The Ambiance is attractive and comfortable. I found the prices a little high, but the servings sizes were large, enough so that we all had leftovers. I would rather they reduce the serving sizes and the price, making the meal a better value.
Great burgers wonderful polish kielbasa excellent and reasonably bottle of Wine
The food was great as usually got the pork tacos and Mac and cheese which were both excellent! It was cinco de mayo
Had a delicious meal. Great drinks and service. The crusted come salmon was amazing. Loved the atmosphere
Great food and atmosphere! Will definitely go back again.
Server Sarah was awesome. Had the cowboy ribeye. Excellent. They nailed the temperature. Ask for the horse radish sauce with which they used to tip the strip steak. Delish
The New York Restaurant was a disappointment, mainly because of the service. The menu is extensive, with a great mix of brunch and lunch dishes and a nice cocktail selection. The space is very attractive and comfortable. But our waiter was spread too thin and was inattentive.
We were a group of 4 on a Sunday afternoon. We were not in a hurry and looked forward to a leisurely meal, but the wait for our entrees (we hadn't ordered apps) was excessive. We had to ask for a coffee refill, which came out in a small pot. A nice idea, but the coffee was not that hot. Three of our entrees finally arrived; the wait for the 4th, which was in no way a special order was more than 5 minutes.
The food was tasty - I had a plate of four pierogi with salmon, sour cream and a salad that was quite nice. But indifferent service will keep us from returning.
Great food and nice environment. A little in the pricey side but nice for a special occasion.
This was my first visit and I went for late lunch on a Sunday with friends. I was happily surprised by the food, décor, menu, service and there was even live music that was nice but not overly intrusive. I will definitely return.
What a gem. Wonderful food and great staff. It was a pleasure. We will be coming back.
Nice historic inn. Unusual selections. Pickle soup was divine. Perogies were ok but a bit dry. Not like my Polish grandmothers but that would be a very tall order.
Overall, a great find. Highly recommend.
Great food, great atmosphere, best restaurant around!!!
Food is excellent, the servers are wonderful. We were here for St Patrick's Day. The only thing I would say for next year, bagpipes and drums are wonderful but WAY too loud for the restaurant. It was a little too intense, especially when you are sitting right next to the stage.
We love the New York, food is always good. Service is sometimes sketchie but always quick to make it right. The only complaint would be is that its very dark. It would be nice to be able to see the menu without my phone light.
Fantastic restaurant with a unique menu and great local beers! Every course was delicious. Live music on a Friday evening was a great addition.
Just fantastic! From the moment we arrived until we left! Food, service everything was top notch!
On point as always! Highly recommend!
Delish, as always! The strip steak is awesome. Good job!
The New York Restaurant was excellent. My co-workers and I were on a ski trip for the weekend at Hunter Mountain and found the New York Restaurant on google. We are from New York city and are used to good meals and creative dishes. From the appetizers to dessert every dish was phenomenal. We had a group of 7 and were seated in the back private room which was perfect for our group. Our server Crystal was on point with her service and recommendations and made us feel welcomed and right at home. All 7 people in our group left full and satisfied. Next time we are upstate we will be sure to attend again. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a new york city quality meal right in the mountains.
I really appreciate the attentive service. Food is always great.
What a lovely place for a romantic dinner for Valentine’s Day. My boyfriend and I had such a lovely time. The server was wonderful and there was live music but wasn’t loud that you couldn’t hear each other. Food was super tasty, have been dreaming about the buffalo cauliflower. Will be back again soon!
The food is very good and the portion size is small, which I like, but the price is too high for the smaller amount of food that you're getting.
The service is amazing and the atmosphere is great. The noise level can be ridiculous if you're seated next to the band when they're playing. Had I known that I might be seated directly next to the band I would have asked to be seated elsewhere when I made my reservation.
Excellent band at the Sunday brunch-- jazz played at a high level.
We were placed near the stage at a very tiny table and were told that we had an hour before the band arrived. What was the point of making a reservation when you’re still going to get very poor seating? So basically, we had to eat fast if we wanted to still hear before the end of dinner. We ordered the New York strip steak and a butternut squash special. The steak was over cooked and the extra flank steak that was ordered extra with the special was stone cold.
We had a great date night dinner at this quaint and intimate little restaurant in the heart of catskill NY
Food here is very tasty. The live music makes brunch more special, but the acoustics of the place makes it a like hard to converse during the performances. Waitstaff very hard working and a little short handed. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling through the area
