The New York Beer Company Ratings and Reviews
went there after visit to Rockefeller Center on a recommendation.
After being seated and greeted by server, she took drink order and disappeared for 10 minutes.
she then apps and entrée order, and didn't see her again (expo person served food) until I was given final check. Good for sports and maybe better when crowded, but they should have been more attentive with the lack of a crowd... would not return
First time in NYC and wanted a meet a friend for brunch. Unfortunately they ran out of coffee and informed us they were buying more at this moment- which was very surprising since it was only 11ish in the morning. We were a table of 7, and the food came out cold. To their defense, they indicated that they were using K-cups and only had one chef.
Food was ok, the Chicken and Pancake Waffles isn't what you expect when your order chicken and waffles, but the Challah French Toast was great! I also got the bottomless mimosas and they were alright. The didn't get filled as frequently as I would have liked, especially when you're going out for a boozy brunch so that sort of sucked.
We came in on Sunday to celebrate the marathon. The place was packed (of course). Service at the bar was good, but when we moved to our table (for which we’ve had a reservation for weeks), service quality took a steep drop off. We understand that when things are busy, it’s tough—and mistakes happen (there were a bunch of experienced servers in our group)—but a pleasant attitude and one or two apologies for mistakes would’ve gone a long way (instead of treating us like it was our fault).
What a find this was. So many choices of beers and the best burgers we have had in a long time! The service was excellent (our server, Amanda, was attentive, smart, got absolutely everything correct on our orders and was a sweet as can be!) We look forward to returning again.
Went to meet a buddy for an early dinner. Its a pretty large place with plenty of room at the bar as opposed to other smaller sports bars in other parts of NYC. Great selection of tap beers - always a big plus in my book. Food was average - ordered a cheeseburger medium - came well done. Buffalo wings were good but a tad expensive $21 for a dozen! Service was average. Overall a decent spot but not the greatest.
This is a good place to go to if you want to watch sports. I wish I could have reviewed this place better but I ended up getting sick off of either my sandwich or drink. I ordered a hard root-beer and it tasted really funny to me. I just assumed that this was the way that brand of root-beer tasted. I also ordered a sandwich that didn't taste too good. It took a half hour for the one appetizer we ordered to come out and then ten minutes later our entree came out. The server checked on us once and never came back. I had to ask someone else for our check because my boyfriend and I had a show to attend to. I ended up getting sick within 20 minutes of finishing our dinner.
I had a terrible experience with the server who only checked on us once voluntarily. The other two times that she came by our table was because we either flagged her down, or we had to ask upper management to have her come by the table. I ordered a bud light which came flat and lukewarm. The truffle fries and wings that I ordered came without ranch, dipping sauce, or ketchup. I asked for these items and they were never brought to the table. Aside from this experience, I will say and end this review on a good note. The truffle fries were delicious and the wings were good.
Good food and service. Menu had a nice selection and there were plenty of beers on the drink menu. It was very loud inside, almost uncomfortably so, even for a pub. This is the kind of place I would bring unwelcome company to so I wouldn't have to make conversation...
Love this place! Went to Trivia Night with friends and had a blast. Beer selection is awesome. Was there from 7:30-10:30pm on a Wednesday night. Not sure how it is outside that time but I would imagine it would still be awesome! Great place! Going back for football Sunday's for their specials!
Love this place! I've been coming here since they opened a few years ago. It's HUGE so you don't have to sit on top of people. Great beer selection and great bar food. It's a little loud but not to the point that you can't hear. It's a cool laid back atmosphere. Love it!
We were pleasantly surprised! This was our first time here and place was GREAT! The food was wonderful! There was no long wait for our food to arrive at the table or our drinks. The vibe of the place was perfect. The staff was extremely friendly. We will be back!!!
We should have left at the very beginning. When we arrived, we noticed how loud the place was. The hostess asked if we where there for trivia. We couldn't even hear her. She repeated herself and we said 'No'. She placed us at the most noisy table in the place. We should have left, but we didn't want to make a scene. We later realized that the tables towards the back which where available would have been better. We where never offered that location. We asked if they could turn down the volume, but the response was that the tables in the back would not be able to hear. We waited a very long time for the food. The burgers where served over cooked and dry. The sweet potato fries where served burnt and they had to be replaced. The replacement arrived after all the other food was gone. We have been here before for lunch and dinner and it was better. This was a total disappointment and a waste of a nice evening with friends that we could not hear at all.
It served its purpose (food before a show) and wasn't too bad considering the location, but it was only OK. We liked our beer and cocktails. They forgot to put the onions and jalapenos on my boyfriend's pizza (brought it out as cheese) they brought it back to the kitchen, threw on the veggies RAW and brought it back out.
Excellent service place was very busy but our server never forgot about us. Good food with a great selection of craft beers and beer cocktails. My only negative was is that it was so LOUD unbelievably loud, I was at a two person table but I couldn't have conversation. Wish it wasn't so loud I would have stayed and moved to the bar for more cocktails.
Had the 3 appetizer platter w macaroni balls, buffalo chicken dip and brisket over chips.
Maybe a bit too much fried food. But went for the happy hour timing. Fun place w a decent crowd.
Service was a bit sketchy as we had to keep asking for things and flagging people down.
We stopped for supper before the theater on a week night. We used the link on their website to make reservations for six about 3 hours before we arrived. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
We ordered a range from the casual pizza and burgers, fish & chips to and an elegant dish of garlic lemon shrimp with a generous choice of sides. Everyone raved about their dinners. We also tried some great craft beers.
The room was spacious and not crowded. Several tvs were on sports chanels, but the sound didn't interfere with our conversations. It was an altogether pleasant experience and we will return the next time we're in New York.
