The New York Beer Company Ratings and Reviews
I was pleasantly surprised on the size of the place being NYC locations are usually smaller, especially for a bar. Loved the food and service. The atmosphere was inviting and decor beautiful. Restrooms clean. Parking directly across the street. Went for pre-Broadway Show. Would definitely go back. Highly recommended.
Food was typical pub fare. Not great but good enough. The service was terrible! Checked in at 4:45 and waited over an hour for our dinner. The server was surly at best and when asked for the check took another 30 minutes. Would not recommend especially given all of the better options on restaurant row.
Did a late lunch to hang out with the family and the place was not busy to say the least. Food was excellent, but service was subpar with the amount of customers that were present. Non the less, the waitress was very friendly and the food made up for the lapse in service. Would make the return trip if ever in NY again.
went there after visit to Rockefeller Center on a recommendation.
After being seated and greeted by server, she took drink order and disappeared for 10 minutes.
she then apps and entrée order, and didn't see her again (expo person served food) until I was given final check. Good for sports and maybe better when crowded, but they should have been more attentive with the lack of a crowd... would not return
This was perhaps the worst dining experience we have ever had. First, both the men's and women's bathrooms were out of toilet paper the entire time and had obviously not been cleaned in awhile. Second, the service was awful even though we were one of the only patrons visiting at the time. Third, our food was slightly cold when it arrived and tasted like it had been sitting for quite awhile. 2 out of the 4 of our party felt ill afterwards. Finally we had a reservation and were at the restaurant for about an hour and 20 minutes with hardly anyone else in the restaurant when we were asked to either order something else or leave.
The only reason I can figure the restaurant might have been upset with us was that our party was originally 6, but two of our members had to leave for a family issue; however, there were still four of us who bought both drinks and food and there was no need for a reservation because there was no one else in the restaurant, so it is not as if they needed the table.
Final note, they asked us to leave immediately after we paid and one member of our party was still finishing their drink.
First time in NYC and wanted a meet a friend for brunch. Unfortunately they ran out of coffee and informed us they were buying more at this moment- which was very surprising since it was only 11ish in the morning. We were a table of 7, and the food came out cold. To their defense, they indicated that they were using K-cups and only had one chef.
Food was ok, the Chicken and Pancake Waffles isn't what you expect when your order chicken and waffles, but the Challah French Toast was great! I also got the bottomless mimosas and they were alright. The didn't get filled as frequently as I would have liked, especially when you're going out for a boozy brunch so that sort of sucked.
We came in on Sunday to celebrate the marathon. The place was packed (of course). Service at the bar was good, but when we moved to our table (for which we’ve had a reservation for weeks), service quality took a steep drop off. We understand that when things are busy, it’s tough—and mistakes happen (there were a bunch of experienced servers in our group)—but a pleasant attitude and one or two apologies for mistakes would’ve gone a long way (instead of treating us like it was our fault).
What a find this was. So many choices of beers and the best burgers we have had in a long time! The service was excellent (our server, Amanda, was attentive, smart, got absolutely everything correct on our orders and was a sweet as can be!) We look forward to returning again.
Went to meet a buddy for an early dinner. Its a pretty large place with plenty of room at the bar as opposed to other smaller sports bars in other parts of NYC. Great selection of tap beers - always a big plus in my book. Food was average - ordered a cheeseburger medium - came well done. Buffalo wings were good but a tad expensive $21 for a dozen! Service was average. Overall a decent spot but not the greatest.
This is a good place to go to if you want to watch sports. I wish I could have reviewed this place better but I ended up getting sick off of either my sandwich or drink. I ordered a hard root-beer and it tasted really funny to me. I just assumed that this was the way that brand of root-beer tasted. I also ordered a sandwich that didn't taste too good. It took a half hour for the one appetizer we ordered to come out and then ten minutes later our entree came out. The server checked on us once and never came back. I had to ask someone else for our check because my boyfriend and I had a show to attend to. I ended up getting sick within 20 minutes of finishing our dinner.
I had a terrible experience with the server who only checked on us once voluntarily. The other two times that she came by our table was because we either flagged her down, or we had to ask upper management to have her come by the table. I ordered a bud light which came flat and lukewarm. The truffle fries and wings that I ordered came without ranch, dipping sauce, or ketchup. I asked for these items and they were never brought to the table. Aside from this experience, I will say and end this review on a good note. The truffle fries were delicious and the wings were good.
Good food and service. Menu had a nice selection and there were plenty of beers on the drink menu. It was very loud inside, almost uncomfortably so, even for a pub. This is the kind of place I would bring unwelcome company to so I wouldn't have to make conversation...
