The New London Restaurant and Lounge

Great food and good service. Well worth the bill!

Fabulous food, pricey but well worth it for a special occasion.

My girlfriend ate there on the Saturday afternoon and cam home raving about it.
It was just over 24 hours later that I took her back to try for myself and it didn't disappoint.
We both had the roast beef for our main course and it was delicious.

Wonderful evening with amazing food. I will be going back!

Despite all the restrictions social distancing etc The New London are still delivering a superb dining experience. From the welcome as we went in to the Goodbye as we left. From the pre lunch drink to the cheese and coffee it was super. The quality of the food and the innovative menu are a delight.

Excellent meal as usual. Always feel a little more green veg could be served with a roast, ànd beef slightly tough, but very tasty.
Lovely deserts, xmas pudding and cheeseboard.

Prensently, The New London is probably one of, or the best place to eat in Chelmsford. Having recently also eaten at Galvin's 'The Green Man', I would say that The New London does actually edge out ahead in the quality of food served.
The Green Man is better for larger groups simply due to the larger venue, but The New London is a far more intimate dining experience for couples or groups up to 6.
It's expensive, but you get what you pay for in life!!
If you can afford it, then go there! You won't be dissapointed.
Enough said!

Great food, really excellent quality - and attentive service (but not overly so)

Shame about the lack of veg!! the beef was lovely.. However I recieved one carrot with my dinner (actually more like 1/4 of a carrot and tablespoon portion of mash). me and my partner both left hungry! Such a shame as lovley atmosphere and the beef was cooked really well. Just not worth the money

We had a lovely time as usual . It was my son’s birthday and wasn’t sure the atmosphere was going to be as good due to covid but it was just as nice . The staff obviously carried out the measures they needed to but still allowing us a pleasant dining experience. Can’t wait to go back . By the way the cauliflower soup is amazing.

The New London is consistent in their delivery of excellent food and wine to a level that is incredibly difficult to find in Essex and beyond.

The roast quail starter was my highlight on a seasonal menu that really all looks completely delicious, never leaving any guest dissatisfied.

Very pleased with our experience again, the food was delicious and we always have great service.

Great service and amazing food!!

It was delightful to be able to have such a great meal out in The New London again last night. The whole experience was so good and whilst it is slightly pricey the whole experience for a special celebration makes it worth it.
The team in the Restaurant both front and back of house deserve praise for their excellence.

Whenever we visit this restaurant, the food is always more than exceptional, the service is impeccable, the ambiance is boudoir with elegance, and there's always a great selection of music. We have recommended this restaurant to many of our friends as it is now one of our absolute favourites.

Nice to have something a little different from the standard “Pub Grub” and the presentation and service was excellent.

Fantastic Sunday lunch at this beautifully designed restaurant. The menu was varied and not limited to the usual Sunday roast options. All the food we ordered was exquistely presented and the vegetarian main was delicious and well thought out. The waiting staff were excellent, friendly, efficient and enthusiastic. We were very impressed by our first visit here and look forward to returning once lockdown is over.

My wife and I went to the New London for date night on a Friday evening. It was the first time we had been there and we found everything to be high quality - from the decor, to the food and the service.

Highly recommend and we will definitely be returning!

The lunch menu was excellent quality and value for money, the food taste and presentation couldn't be faulted, excellent.

Very slow service and too many people in the restaurant without any window ventilation, plus the Guineafowl for main course had a balsamic sauce that was about 90% raw balsamic vinegar, and when I explained to the waiter who tried to tell me I was wrong even though I explained in great detail.

Really nice little lounge area for pre drinks! Actual restaurant area very ambient and smart. Tables not too close together. Not a huge restaurant which is a plus and the service was brilliant. Food was really delicious and well presented, sides were really tasty and portions a good size. Would definitely return and have recommended already.

I didn’t know a nice restaurant like this was on New London road all this while.
We had a great evening.

Best Restaurant in Chelmsford without question.
Food is always delicious, and menu is changed every 8 weeks. The service is excellent, they go out of the way to make sure your dining experience is as good as it can be. Cannot recommend enough.
