At the heart of Tresco, The New Inn is our island local, adorned with marine relics and offering a warm welcome throughout the year.

Prop up the Driftwood Bar, gather around a table in the wreck wood-lined snug, soak up the sun and the sea views on the sheltered terrace, or enjoy a relaxed and intimate dining experience in the Pavilion.

The bar is open throughout the day for drinks, and the food ranges from a hearty breakfast to morning coffee and cake, a classic pub lunch, and a wholesome dinner after a day's island adventure. The entertainment differs each day, from live music to spectacular sunsets over New Grimsby.

Our talented kitchen team, led by Head Chef Liam Caves, works with the best local suppliers to serve great British classics with a Tresco twist. We use as much locally grown, reared, and landed produce as possible. In the summer months, we fire up the Ox Grill on the terrace, cooking over coals to bring to life the flavours and aromas of the finest local produce.

Nothing we could fault. Excellent choice of wines and plenty of local gins! Very tasty food ; we had haddock, sea bass, brill and one of the best vegetarian (beetroot)burger the vegetarian in our group has tasted. The staff are delightful, friendly and helpful. We requested a cheese course, as there is no longer a “cheese and biscuits” choice, only (somewhat expensive) puddings and the chef accommodated with a dish of whipped goats cheese and a flatbread. We had an excellent evening and look forward to our return.

We had a table for 4 on Sunday night. We all chose the duck special as our main and it was delicious. The service was excellent and we also enjoyed our starters and puds.
