Neither food nor service were a distraction on my date night, and that’s unusual these days. A little glitch here or there, a delay, an ambiguous comment from the staff, an overlooked side dish, anything can throw off a romantic evening. But last night everything went absolutely smoothly at this restaurant . The food actually exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth coming back.
Great food and ambiance
Amazing food, service, and environment! Will not hesitate to return!
Service was slow and spotty, as in 20 mins between courses, 20 mins for cocktails, etc. food was spot on!
An excellent addition to the Telluride dinning scene.
We had a great dinner! Cocktails were amazing-Mountain Shrine highly recommended(get it with vodka if you’re not a gin fan). We started with two apps: the shrimp & the short rib. Both were very good. Two of us split the porterhouse, and the other had the filet. Both were cooked to perfection.
We ended with the bread pudding-a great end to a fabulous meal
Can’t wait to come back next time we are in Telluride
Our best restaurant experience in Telluride for the week! Service was so friendly, informative, and efficient. The great service with the ultra-cool look of The National added to the over-the-top delicious food and beverage possibilities. Our party of 4 was so delighted with this experience, the “yummy every bite and sip joy”, the staff’s kindness and attention to us, and the vibe of the place, especially to celebrate our last night in town on Valentines Day. Much appreciation to The National!!
This is our new favorite restaurant in Telluride. Hands-down amazing food, excellent staff, beautiful space. It's the new happening place in town!
Not a place to take kids. No high chairs. No children menu. However, they were exceptionally courteous to us when we went there with a 4 year old and a 1 year old. It just would have been nice to know that in advance.
Great experience. maybe the best restaurant in Telluride?
you should try it1
The food, cocktails and atmosphere is beyond spectacular at the National!
Great food, ambiant and service. I will go again on my next trip to Telluride. Try the Shrimp, Scallops and Tuna.
Great new restaurant in Telluride! Love the atmosphere, service was very good, menu has so many things - wanted to try them all! We split the whole Branzino and it was one of the best pieces of fish I've ever had. Highly recommend The National!!!
Wonderful for a celebration! We had a great time celebrating a friend's birthday and would return again!
Great addition to dining scene in Telluride
The food was amazing. This team absolutely slays it.
Food was very good but expensive
The Ahi tuna special and the shrimp appetizer were delicious. My salad, on the other hand, had very little dressing, and the pears and crispy onions were missing altogether. The service was good. Our biggest gripe was that the high-top tables were too close together. It was nearly impossible to get out of my seat without toppling the drinks on the next table.
Celebrating anniversary 🎉. Madison was a perfect waitress!!!
Food was very good but our waiter was bad. The Branzino for two was great.
The Pastrami Short Rib appetizer was amazing! Everything was great for sharing.
This new restaurant in Telluride offered exceptionally flavorful and well presented food and the service was excellent, despite being very crowded. A bit pricey but not out of line for Telluride and for the quality of the food. You sit very close to your fellow diners and it is loud so you must be ok with an energetic crowd. Recommend reservations several days in advance. A definite must try when in Telluride!
Nice place. A bit noisy. Service was great.
Terrible experience. Sat for 20 minutes without service. Repeatedly had to request to order. Porterhouse was amazing. Side of cauliflower consisted of 3 cauliflower pieces. Drinks were excellent, yet mine was filled to the top, my husband’s halfway. We would have complained, but could not get the attention of waitlist for anther 20minutes.
Our waiter was quick and kinda unfriendly, we weren’t sure if he was rude or painfully shy. Not the best experience with him. Also the lights kept changing- from bright to dim and even dimmer to bright again. Weird! Food was excellent!!!!
Excellent restaurant. One of the beat meals I’ve had in or out of telluride.
The food was wonderful and the service was great. It's a lovely atmosphere and perfect place for me to take my clients.
I would expect to be able to cut through a $48 steak
Awesome food & great service
The National is now THE place in Telluride. Situated in a upper level brick room adorned with luminescent wine bottles, the place vibrates. Marin does a masterful job handling the very active front of the house and it is a marvelous place for people watching! We had a light dinner of superbly crafted appetizers.
- duck mousse, hamachi, and short ribs. Sensational food, terrific atmosphere and our server, Trevor, could not have been more attentive.
Duck liver mousse appetizer was good and had lots of nice stuff on the plate, but they were very stingy with the bread crisps, especially when you have to order (and pay extra for) bread. Lamb shank was a very tasty plate, but could have used either more grated cheese or a bit more salt. (And this is one of those precious places where the chefs seem to think they are above putting salt & pepper on the tables.) The trout was overcooked (despite my asking to have it cooked gently) and every accompaniment on that plate was sweet, overpowering what was basically a very neutral trout almandine. Worst of all, the server didn’t seem to care: we were never asked how anything was or if we needed something. The bright spot was the wine list and sommelier- the wine list is interesting and varied and the sommelier knows her stuff. Plus, I’m all for lively, but the place is downright loud—tables are close together and most of the surfaces are hard.
A new and beautiful gem in Telluride. Lots of glass and metal in the design and a great looking bar. Love the ambience at this place -- if you're looking to eat fantastic food at a stylish 21st century restaurant, inside a 19th century building, this is the place!
Great addition to Telluride.
Cool vibe. Sommelier very helpful wine eclectic list
At reasonable prices. We will be back
Still needs to work out the kinks.
All around superb in every way.
Delicious food, fantastic modern atmosphere. Definitely give this new place a shot!
We really enjoyed our dining experience, thank you
Everything that could go wrong that night went wrong. First of all, we got there and the hostess wasn’t there . There were about 12 people squeezed in a small stair waiting for the hostess. We had a reservation for 8 pm and got our table at 8:40. And the funny thing was the reason of the delay: a table had paid and the owner of the restaurant went to speak to them. They were friends, it seems. So, nobody from the staff would tell them that the table was needed for a reservation and the owner himself didn’t think that was important. It was important to keep chatting with his buddies without caring about the other clients. The food was ok, nothing special. For sure there are better option in city. And the noise , it was loud . So, it wasn’t a good night!
First rate in every way. Amazing menu.
The bartender was possibly the worst I've ever experienced. Didn't have any idea of the tequila brands they offered, and would not provide a simple paper bar napkin with our drinks.
Otherwise, the experience was terrific!
Great table service, capable wait staff, and excellent food.
Loved the overall experience...but will avoid the bar next time.
