Always a pleasure to eat at The Nash. Food is always top notch!
Love the food. Fantastic service - thank you, Jeremy.
Making a reso for my wife’s birthday and then getting seated at the bar beside the kitchen was not a power move.
We ordered a glass of wine from the wine list that “was no longer available”. For the price point, my gentle suggestion is that that should not happen.
Great spot - one of our favourite celebration spots and again - Jeremy did a bang up job.
Excellent professional and curteous service in a friendly ambiance. See you again soon. Thank you.
Fabulous! Great service, amazing food, this is a Calgary gem!
Celebrated a friends achievement at work with a nice dinner out and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. Great ambiance and atmosphere inside the restaurant. Food and drinks were excellent!
We got recommendations about this place from different sources. It was underwhelming and mostly disappointing. The “famous” burger was dry and flavorless, iron flat steak was juicy but lacking flavor. We really wanted to like these dishes, but the chef favored too much salt so it was really hard to distinguish real taste of dishes. Desert usually our favorite part of the meal, but tonight it didn’t cut for us: chocolate tart was drowning in caramel, so we couldn’t feel any flavor until we scraped all caramel off. French press coffee wasn’t that good, jasmine green tea was lacking jasmine flavor, so we even mentioned it to the waitress. She apologized and brought another tea pot, which was good.
But the worse part was the little flies, lots of them which were flying everywhere and getting into our faces, food and drinks, which was very disturbing.
The only good dish was fries, side salad and the “Hotel Nacional “ cocktail, which was very well balanced and made me accept all imperfections
Great food - great service. Our server Shannon was fabulous!!
Business dinner with out-of-town guests. All very happy with the meal, ambience, and service. Dishes served were charbroiled chicken, short ribs, pasta, and hamburger. Definitely be back for business and personal. It's a gem.
They do meat well! Each cut of beef (we shared) was subtly different and exquisitely good. Nice single malt selection, too. Service was excellent but staffing was a little thin. Great experience overall!
We went for a double date night and it was fantastic! Great food, good wine list. Our server was great, though I don’t remember his name. I’ll definitely be back!
Loved our dinner here. The service was amazing and the food was so good. They make it really easy for my husband who is celiac. Can't wait for our next dinner here!
We had a fantastic time last Saturday with my friends,we celebrated my birthday.Everything is awesome, the service the tummy food the drinks the great ambience,we’re very impressed. It is our first time here and definitely planning to come back again. We are already recommending it to friends....
The Nash has a nice open feel with lots of light and comfortable chairs. We had the scallops and pork belly for an appetizers and it was delicious. My husband had the halibut which was priced at a whopping $49. It was cooked perfectly, but it did not meet expectations for the price. It came with 4 very large potatoes which was a huge disappointment. I had the salmon which was also cooked perfectly, but for $32 the portion size was very small compared to other restaurants like Notable, Blink, etc. It came with beets and cauliflower. I usually love cauliflower (especially fired roasted), but it tasted like propane and was very off-putting. The rest of the vegetables were very good. Overall the experience was good, but I wouldn't go back because the price exceeded the value of the food.
My husband. Had the duck ... bun haws tasty... duck was tough and cold.... I had the black cod special... was ok but not my favourite... pricey meal with no wine
This is the old National Hotel’s reincarnation as a modern restaurant—tasteful, understated decor, plenty of room, reasonably quiet (on a Sunday morning, anyway) with plenty of street windows and an open, central kitchen. Our server, originally from Berlin, was on the ball, clued in and very pleasant. Most of us (4) enjoyed the eggs Benedict with trout; mine, however, was just a bit runny and arrived just a bit cold. Easy enough to remedy. We will return. Oh—parking was easy, on the street and behind the building.
We made a late reservation for 2 at the counter. We showed up early and they found a table for us. The food is excellent and the service wonderful. We were visiting Banff and Lake Louise (supposed to go to Waterton as well, but closed due to wild fires). Asked a friend who is a Calgary native for recommendations for our evening in Calgary and she recommended The Nash. We were very pleased.
It was just alright! Won’t be headed back for a bit
Trendy restaurant and bar with a great menu. Jeremy provided exceptional service. The burger and fries was amazing. We took fresh cinnamon buns home for breakfast tomorrow... awesome
Great food, food presentation and ambiance. Perfect place for celebrating or business meal.
Always a pleasant visit here. Hidden gem! Was turned-on to this place by an exec @ CP. The food is as fresh as it gets and very unique too. I have a high bar for food, and they always exceed it.
I went to the Nash for my birthday and I was very pleased with the excellent service. The food was delicious, even though a little on the pricey side it was definitely worth it. I would definitely recommend going to Nash.
The service was amazing from the moment we walked through the door. The waitress was attentive and very helpful. We were there for a late Sunday brunch. The food was perfect portions and wonderful flavors. Can’t beat the cinnamon bun!
Great meal and great server. Thanks so much for a wonderful evening!
Fantastic food and great atmosphere. I’m dreaming about the meal we had.
Excellent food, generous portions, flavorful local veg. Friendly but not intrusive service just in time. Brought out of town guests and they were wowed. Roasted chicken, pork tenderloin, strip loin steak and Gnuddi - all winners.
I am a return customer after 2 years away from Calgary and The Nash did not disappoint.
Actually ,quite disappointed in the Lamb as they were very fatty . The pork rack was good. The reduction was excellent for both meats as well as the vegetables. The desserts excellent.
Overall the cost of this meal far exceeded the quality.
Having said this ,I would enjoy coming back to try your lunch .
From the moment we sat down, the experience was exquisite. Our server, Jeremy, made fantastic recommendations and each course exceeded our expectations. The cocktails alone are worth the trek, but the service and food will easily satisfy the most discerning of guests.
In the past I've had amazing brunch experiences at The Nash with attentive service and amazing food but my last visit felt like an entirely different restaurant. Our server was disorganized, slow, and rude - and unfortunately the food didn't make up for it. Our drinks took over 30 minutes to arrive despite a nearly empty restaurant and were not complex cocktails, which I have previously ordered here and know they take a while to prepare by hand, but in that case they were taken off of our bill (I mention this to highlight past experiences here of attentive service). Thirty minutes for two mimosas, a caesar, and baileys and coffee was shocking and they were delivered without an explanation. We finished our cinnamon bun before they arrived.
Our brunches came out all at separate times, mine over five minutes after the others and without any of the obvious accompaniments like ketchup for hashbrowns and syrup for waffles. They were delivered 10 minutes later, with plates going cold.
I hope it was a one-off type experience but can't say I'll be back any time soon to see if the restaurant can redeem itself. Truly disappointing as it was a go-to for me and my friends.
Our first time there and it was amazing. Good and service was first class! Will be going back.
My friend and I went for my birthday. It was a great experience! We had an appetizer, different main courses and dessert and everything was scrumptious!!
Great staff - from the hostess to the waiter to the restaurant manager - everyone was very pleasant and helpful. Food was delicious. Evening parking is great. Nice place to go for a special occasion or just for dinner or lunch with family or friends. A bit pricy but the food and the experience are worth it.
The scallops were amazing.... I would go back again just for that!
We were a little bit disappointed because we made a reservation at least 3 weeks prior and they did not have a low table for us. I am a bit short and it made it quite an uncomfortable dining experience. The food and server were great though.
The food was delicious and filling. An innovative menu and great service made our experience thoroughly enjoyable. However the value for money balance needs some tweaking. The menu pricing is quite high and perhaps out of kilter with what is being served.
We have been wanting to visit The Nash for a while, ever since my son told us about it. And it didn't disappoint. The food was wonderful, service was excellent, decor was lovely. We really had a wonderful meal.
Under staffed which caused a considerable delay between appetizers and our main meal. Three and half hours was just too long of a dinning experience. So many other character bars and restaurants in the immediate area; we wanted to be WOW'd then move on to the next place.
We booked for our anniversary and requested a table away from the centre and they were able to oblige - thanks! I never know if requests are even received but in this case it was received and they were able to put us at a lovely table by the window where it was quieter. We had great service and a fantastic meal - the prime rib rotisserie special was fab and the potatoes pave that came with it were absolutely delicious. Loved the wine by the glass selection too.
