Every bit the welcoming country pub you may well be hoping to stumble upon around Bournheath, The Nailers Arms attracts a loyal clientele from Bromsgrove and beyond, drawn by the delicious food (available seven days a week) as well as a wide selection of quality beers, wines and spirits and that welcoming atmosphere only possible in a truly local institution. Phil and Shula Witherford are the passionate couple behind this popular bar and contemporary restaurant on Doctors Hill, a place which is hard to leave without a personal promise to the publican that you’ll be back to get your fill again before too long.

An old-fashioned carvery- great quality and value. The parking is safe and ample, the staff are friendly and efficient, and the food is excellent. We have no reason to go anywhere else for our carvery fix.

We had a table in an alcove with poor lighting and we felt shut off The food was good Had to wait a while for the food The waitress was very attentive We wll be going again but will request a table nearer the windows

We have been to the Nailers Arms a number if times and gave been very happy with our experience. However, yesterday we visited at 4.15pm and we were very disappointed with the lack of food on the carvery and the state of the carvery with food all over the counter and on the floor. We were served with our meat and then had a long delay waiting for the vegetables to be restocked. No one seemed to be restocking and cleaning the counter to ensure customers had food readily and the counter kept clean. We were not happy with this visit. We were celebrating a birthday and wanted it to be special! We will think twice before we return here. We know this was not the normal standard achieved.

Came in on Sunday for an early fathers day treat - Lady came to tell us my daughters food would be out and we should go get our carvery, Massive queue for Carvery which didn't move for about 15 minutes as the guy carving the meat was also re-stocking the veg and potatoes and was in and out the kitchen for a good 10 minutes. This meant my daughters meal was on the table so i had to sit with her whilst my mum and dad went for their carvery. By the time they had come back my daughter had almost finished her meal and i then had to go queue for another 10 minutes for my Carvery - By the time if had got my food my Mum, dad and daughter had all finished their meals. Came out for a nice meal together and ended up eating all at different times.

Very busy on Sunday. Food very good but had to wait quite a while for some of the vegetables to be re stocked so meal was a little cool. But saying that would still return. Staff were very friendly and gave very good service.

What a disappointment. I have been to the carvery at the Nailers Arms many times before- but this time it was awful. There was a tiny dried up chunk of turkey, some beef and ham. The amount of meat we were given was very stingy (we avoided the turkey. Roast parsnips were so hard we couldn’t eat them, roast potatoes were sitting in a puddle of oil and the dauphinois potatoes and cauliflower cheese were unrecognisable. The sauces all had drips of other sauces in them and the gravy was so thick it was like blancmange. We ate our meal didn’t have desert, paid our bill and left- it was just after 9 pm. Before we had left the car park they locked the door- I think we must have held them up. Not an enjoyable evening and nothing like it used to be

I'm afraid we had a very long wait for our meal even though we had booked the time and most of the customers were queuing for the roast. We all had the line caught fish, whilst there was warning of possible fish bones I had 20 in my fish. As tasty as it was it makes for an uncomfortable eat. Luckily my friend who is blind only had one or two.

Service and food as always was exceptional. The food is always great quality and fresh and the service is always attentive.
