The Mustang Ratings and Reviews
The Mustang was recommended to us and we were blown away. We started with a Duck Chili Relleno, which may be the best chili relleno either of us have ever had. They have a nice wine list, we ordered a Ponzi Pinot which complemented our meal perfectly. My wife had the Sea Scallops and I had the Sea Bass, we both loved our meals. We rarely have dessert, but we tried the soufflé and it was amazing. Michael our server did a great job and Dustin the owner stopped by a couple times to check in with us, which was a really nice touch. Clearly they care about their customer's experience.
Don't visit Park City without visiting this restaurant, you won't be disappointed.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I headed out for The Mustang. The reviews were good, but all left me wondering what the ambiance was like there. I was not disappointed.
The restaurant gives a feel of elegance immediately. Dark drapes, white linen table cloths, glimmering wine glasses dotting each table. There were vibrant paintings on the walls (of horses, of course!), and bright colors accenting the restaurant nicely. The lighting was wonderfully sufficient on each table, but left the overall restaurant somewhat dim and romantic.
The service was mostly what you'd expect from a fine dining experience. There were a couple of times I wished I would have seen our server sooner, but overall she was personable, helpful, attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. We were VERY pleased! Thanks, Sharon!
The food...well, the food was perfection. We started with salads. I had the spinach and pear salad; it was good but NOTHING compared to my wife's Fried Goat Cheese Salad. That was outstanding. For our entree, we each had the filet. They were cooked PERFECTLY to our specification, and the flavor was delightful. They did not have horseradish to offer (a personal enjoyment of mine), but they were amazing nonetheless. Now, we have had fantastic steaks many places, but what we hadn't had were the potatoes that came with it. They were called sweet potatoes pave, and they were AMAZING! Thinly-sliced Yukon potatoes sandwiched between thinly sliced sweet potatoes, coated in a glaze and baked. Just incredible. The brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection, and the carrots were delicious.
We each had some fine cocktails and wine. Their prices are superb for restaurant wine and scotch. The cocktails were a touch small, but the other drinks were great.
We didn't indulge in dessert this time, but they had several that I'm sure would have been stupendous, had we tried them.
We highly recommend The Mustang to anyone thinking of a special night.
Great Resturant. Very accommodating with our seating. We had the duck chili appetizer and wedge salad that were both large enough to share and had wonderful flavors. For our mains the sea bass was delicious as was the Elk chop. Additions were also phenomenal. We ended with the chocolate soufflé. A memorable occasion.
We've been going to Mustang for years, and it never disappoints. The food and service are consistently excellent. Being at the bottom of Main St., it's not quite as "happening" as some other places, but we usually go with friends that we want to visit with, anyway.
We went for my dad's 68th birthday. We sat outside. The food was top notch. My 2 year old had room to play while we waited for food. Birthday dessert was comped and they offer a local's discount. Our party of 5 all agreed that we enjoyed it more than The Edge. And it is right up there with Blind Dog.
Dinner with the family on vacation however, as I wrote on open table dads 50th bday family vacation. The restaurant did nothing at all to recognize this Occassion. I didn't remind them as we enjoyed our meals so much that we had no room for dessert so it seemed unnecessary, but with our large bill a bday surprise would have been nice. I realized also after the fact that they did not remember to give us the summer advertised discount.
Service was simple and they just got the job done. Nothing extra nice or worth writing home about as far as service...no smile, no bday mention, no excitement. But overall good atmosphere and lovely meal.
The food and service were excellent. The price was reasonable but its summer and there was a $25 credit for 2 entrees. Also there was only an $8 corkage fee and we brought our own wine. The menu was bery interesting and the atmosphere was delightful. Validated underground parking was helpful. We'd go again and highly recommend to other summer visitors.
No complaints from my wife. Service by NIC was very good. I was disappointed with my fried goat cheese salad. Huge pile of mixed greens and only one ball of fried goat cheese. Not much dressing for the amount of greens. Local steak was cooked perfectly. Mustang is our go-to place for birthdays.
