Dinner was wonderful and our waitress Alison was outstanding
The Mustang is an excellent restaurant, and it is nice to see that after around 10 years since our last visit, it maintains a lovely atmosphere and high level of service. My only disappointment was the main course that I and one of my guests ordered, the Braised Lamb Shank. I love to cook, and have braised many meats including lamb, and this was off the mark. I don't need to go into details, but it seemed as if they had not been braised long enough; we ate early, at around 7pm, so there's a good chance that by 9pm it would have been much better. The meat was tough, did not fall off the bone easily (we left at least 25% of the meat on the bone, as we couldn't get it off), and it wasn't even very hot when served. Everyone else enjoyed their dishes, so we were just unlucky to hit the lamb shank on an off night. If this dish had been as I expected, my review would have probably been 5 stars.
One of the few fine dining spots in park city. Food was good but everything else about the place was mediocre at best. Grossly overpriced to be sure...$300 for four people with no alcohol. Service was decidedly unimpressive which was by far the most disappointing. Many better smaller and less known options. Won’t be back.
Food was average at best, and the prices were way too high!
Excellent meal and service. “Bar area” table seating recommended — quiet and peaceful.
So very expensive and just not worth the price.
Service was overwhelmed and unable to keep up, forgot orders, etc. Felt like a lack of oversight in the front; definitely dropped the value of $50+ entrees.
Would never come back here. The worst meal we have had in a long time traveling. Service was horrendous and disorganized, although the waitress tried her best. Food was overpriced and awful. Do NOT order a salad for $18- it looks and tastes like something a 5 year old threw together. Mine was the spinach and pear salad that had a cup of spinach, tsp of blue cheese, some almond shavings, and a tsp of a terrible purée of pear, and four raspberries. See the attached photo!!!!
The Brussels sprouts were pathetic- tasted as if they are steamed and then quickly sautéed with ZERO flavor. And we had plastic in ours. We also had the elk chuck which was the only thing that was decently cooked and presented. Only thing I’d recommend this place for would be their chocolate soufflé for dessert. The rest of the meal and menu is unappetizing and definitely not worth the prices they put on their food. The unfortunately worst meal we have had in the past 3 years by far. The manager and waitress thankfully were apologetic and horrified, and comped us my pitiful pear salad, the plastic found in the bland Brussels sprouts and the soufflé for how awful this experience was.
Waiter was terrible❗️service was super weak, and the table they shoved us in was so lame for a place that charged so much. Food was average, overall just not worth the money. Definitely will not go back.
Food was very nice although I asked for lamb shank and they said they had run out, a bit disappointed as we were at a dinner reservation for 6:30pm.
Great food but very overpriced. Our server was not attentive to us but spent a lot of time with larger parties, obviously more concerned about generating larger tips. Had to be reminded about water and drinks several times.
Our Christmas dinner after the holiday with our best friends! Food was amazing! Comfortable and very friendly! Lindsay was the best server we have ever had!
Terrific food. Large portions. High quality. Great service. Very expensive!
We had high expectations with the average reviews we saw and the price tag on the menu. There were some pluses of course like the coat check at the host stand and professional manner of the host staff.
However, we were sat in the bar area where there was a server who said she was new after about an hour of being there and experiencing slow and inattentive service.
Someone new at a restaurant with that price tag should not be alone to serve 5-6 tables on their own.
First thing was our birthday girl ordered a wedge salad and asked for feta instead of bleu cheese and when the salad came it was covered in bleu cheese and she just ate it anyway. We asked for bread service after 30 min sitting there at the end of our salad course and the waitress said “oh yeah I forgot sorry let me get that.”
When our meals came one member of our party had also ordered a wedge salad and it came out with no bleu cheese at all when she didn’t modify anything about it.
There was also an order of fries at the table that burnt our mouths because of the level of salt on them. We just kept them and brushed them off because our server never checked on our food as she was overwhelmed by all the tables she had.
I do need to say that my elk was fantastic and perfectly prepared as well as my friend’s filet. We wished the sweet potato purée on the plate was an entire side because it was incredible!
After the free birthday dessert that our server offered was finished she dropped off the check. We tried to catch her because we needed it split up for individuals but we missed her and she didn’t reappear within earshot for 10 minutes. Once we finally got her attention we asked to split the check up. 15 min later she came back with split checks. 10 min after that she picked up our cards. We left saying wow 35 min for the check out process really soured the rest of the experience.
Overall we spent 2.5 hours, 430, and left disappointed with the forgetful service more than anything else.
The chilean sea bass was amazing! Also, save room for the berry crumble dessert!
In a town where virtually every restaurant is excellent, The Mustang stands out. The menu is not extensive (as top chefs tend to recommend) but there is plenty of variety, including specials, and the preparation is exquisite. Add attentive, knowledgeable service and you've got a winner. Just forgive them (we did) for squeezing in as many tables as physically possible - and allow for navigation time if you need to visit the (very nice) restrooms!
The food was very good. The service was terribly slow. Walking in we waited for a while for the hostess. The server was very slow getting to us and slow at drinks and orders. The restaurant tables are a little too close for comfort. For the price of the restaurant and how much we paid (over $300 bill), the service was just very disappointing. We do not plan to go back. There are amazing restaurants in Park City that have wonderful food and service for a good price that we’ll revisit over Mustang.
My 'go to' place in Park City for delicious food and a good selection wine list!
This restaurant has been consistently excellent throughout the years we have been coming to Park City. The service is great without being overbearing and it has a casually elegant vibe. The parsnip soup was divine. I have had the lamb shank before so I opted for the Osso Buco this time and was not disappointed. My husband had the duck and was very happy with his selection. I only wished I lived in Park City so I could bring the leftovers home.
Food was noting special and my Lamb was not falling off the bone as I would have expected.
As always the food was very good. I go there every year and will go back next year. I love their sea bass and fondue.
Food was excellent. They honored the reservation. Accommodates large parties. SO it can be very noisy when you are a small party.
The staff was spectacular.
Love this place!! New bar is cool.
The mustang is always excellent. The kitchen is kind enough to split entrees if asked and they will serve extra vegetables with the split. Desserts are super, so leave room for them!
Mustang is consistently one of the best restaurants in Park City--the trout is outstanding. The service is attentive and welcoming. The decor and setting are lively and attractive but not too noisy.
I get it, you are in a ski town... But the food was just okay and not worth the price. I had many better meals in town that was less expensive.
We had a wonderful time. The food, service and overall experience was impeccable. We had the best booth in the restaurant and couldn’t have enjoyed our experience more! Highly recommend and will return in the future.
One of the best restaurants in Park City. We’ve eaten there many times and have never been dissatisfied
Fabulous dinner with great service. We loved our waiter Ric and Garfield!! Thanks for a fun evening!
We were very disappointed with our experience at Mustang. The service was sub par and the food was definitely not great; especially for the price. It is not and was not a fine dining experience. We will not be back.
Visitd many tinmes, and always a great meal, with local, friendly service!
Best meal of the week! 2 of us had the chicken picatta and the other 2 had the sea bass...we all raved about it! Outstanding!
Everything about this restaurant is average. It claims to be fine dining, and is priced that way, but the food, service and atmosphere is not even close. Just average.
The food on average was mediocre. Two in our party ordered the duck, which was a tiny serving with 1 small potato on the side, all of which arrived barely warm. Others in the group ordered the lamb shank which had a better portion size. All entrees were vastly expensive given the taste and portion. The Mustang Mule, their signature drink, had very little flavor. The lighting in the restaurant was cold and harsh, and did not lend a nice ambience to the space. I wouldn't bother to eat here again.
Food was amazing, not cheap but everything we got was worth getting again. Elk, shrimp potstickers, peppers all delicious.
Great food. Service is also great but the restaurant is very small and crowded. Server keeps bumping into us. However we would definitely go back.
Nick our waiter...outstanding, our 4th time to Mustang..our favorite in Park City
Great food and warm/inviting atmosphere. Wait staff friendly and efficient. Willing to accommodate special requests. Great place for guests visiting Park City or just locals to grab a drink and/or dinner.
