As usual we had a wonderful dinner. Typically we have one of their steaks, but this time opted for the burger, mine with the truffle fries and my husband's with the fennel fries. Both were quite good. The food and service did not disappoint. The sad part of the evening was knowing that the restaurant will be moving its location to the suburbs. Having moved from the suburbs 25+ years ago, we were enjoying not always having to travel an hour to a restaurant with fantastic food and a great atmosphere.
Great place to celebrate a special occassion!...JUST too cold!
Best dining experience my husband and I have ever had and we’ve dined all over the country. I’ll give it an A+
Barely anyone there and the waitress sits us right next to a support beam right next by door .i had to wear coat entire time .my husband asked for mustard which all you guys have is homemade which was inedible . My steak was very good though
We always have a great meal at The Mulefoot. Their beer selection is out of this world and the food is amazing. We recommend the Mulefoot to everyone we know.
The food had really cooled off by the time it got to the table. This has been a problem every time we've eaten in the new establishment. They need to start preheating the plates or something. For the price, I'd have to think twice before going there again. Too bad as this was our favorite place.
Mulefoot always delivers! They have wonderful, local , seasonal menus. Although they did not have a vegetarian entree listed on their winter menu, I called ahead and the hostess checked with the sous chef if they could make me a plate out of available items. I had handmade fettuccine noodles in a light cream sauce with lemon zest and a side of sauerkraut red cabbage. So yummy!
The menu is set up in 3 courses and I highly suggest you try something from each course. I had the squash bisque soup (amazing), my vegetarian entree, and then a chocolate mousse tart with warmed pears and crushed hazelnuts for dessert. Everything was so delicious, even the drinks!
This was for a girl's night out with a friend from out of town and her 'foodie' soul was content!
If you are looking for exceptional customer service, wonderful food, and a cute downtown restaurant experience, I highly suggest dining here. :)
1st time visit, went to try, starting with their Winter Burger Special, sadly the burger was dry, slightly overcooked, the bun was stale and over grilled, not much to the accouterments, the fries were wilted and soggy with too much salt.
Phenomenal service! Servers made our family feel so welcome and checked back with us frequently. Food was top notch! Our party of four shared three appetizers — the FTT bacon, FTT sausage, and roasted beet hummus. For entrees, ordered the sheoherds pie, pork chop, and Tomahawk steak. Pear danish for dessert with delicious French pressed coffee. I can’t say enough about this wonderful restaurant. Casual dress code with gourmet-level food. Not a cheap dinner but definitely worth every penny!
I really appreciate the chef creating an off the menu vegan dish. Would love to see at least one vegan/vegetarian option on the menu as I would frequent this place more often.
Awesome food. Perfectly paired ora king salmon. Dessert was amazing with ice cream. Very attentive to details. Impeccable service. We were there to celebrate birthday. Fantastic evening. Drove over an hour to be there.
Great service and food but a little too pricey for me. Would go back for a special occasion though.
This is a hidden Jewel. The menu is anything but boring. Local meat and farm produce go into the meal. Excellent selection of wines and beers.
Megan, our server, made great recommendations, and her sever present smile added to the experience.
Will be back again. I may need to try the rest of the menu.
Brought my parents, because they were visiting us in Rochester from PA where they run an educational farm program. We appreciated the whole set up and the food was not only delicious but more sophisticated than I would expect this far off the beaten path.
Very cold evening, had to keep coat on my shoulders in restaurant. Food good but was not hot. Server offered to take back but we didn't want reheated food. A little on the bland side.
Great restaurant that takes pride in using local ingredients. The waitstaff is very knowledgeable with the menu and is eager to guide you through the reguarly changing menu. The menu changes to accommodate seasonal local ingredients. The chef is very creative with putting ingredients together that puts a new look on food.
They took my best friend here for her Christmas gift it was a surprise dinner at the chef's table. The dinner exceeded my expectations I would do it over and over again . I enjoy the atmosphere . The service is always great the wait staff is polite and friendly . Chef Mike has done a fantastic job creating a wonderful dining experience , with locally sourced food and creative menus! I am excited every time I go and have yet to have had a bad meal.
I wanted to love this restaurant especially since its brings a high end location to the area but I just didnt. Service was great and the restaurant was slow due to a snow storm. I gladly will pay 100/person for a great meal and drinks but this just did not deliver. Starters were good, but mail course (house cut) was dry as was the bread pudding. Dessert was ok but did not seem homemade, more assembled. Coffee was fresh and drinks were good. The did give us a $20 off due too their anniversary, if in the are again I may try again for apps and drinks.
We had our company Christmas dinner here. The food was outstanding... everyone loved what they had ordered. The service was great . They were great they didn’t rush us, most of the time the restaurants are on a time restriction when its close to Christmas to fit as many people in a day .. thank you for a wonderful enjoyable dinner ..
Drove 40 minutes for our anniversary dinner--worth the trek. The food was amazing, well thought out, interesting, and beautiful. The service was just as good; very helpful for first-timers. And to top it off, the staff signed a homemade anniversary card for us! We'll be returning for sure.
The roasted eggplant was divine-snapper was cooked to perfection-chocolate -mousse was exquisite-service impecable-we have never been disappointed
Celebrating sons end of senior year tennis Season
Soup was cold & that was not ketchup.
Basically not my thing.I will go back only if my wife makes me.
First time trying out restaurant.....exceptional experience.
It's unfortunate that after moving into their new building, food prep and quality have dropped drastically. Service was top notch, and the bar was on point. The kitchen is suffering. It wasn't worth the price paid.
Very good food and awesome service; however, way too expensive.
You get what you pay for, and this place is worth every penny in my opinion!
Chef Mike never disappoints. This place is great. It is a Foodie paradise!!! The staff really know what they’re taking about too. I love that the menu changes, and the food creativity is always top shelf. We will be back for sure many times to come.
Not only was the food amazing but the presentation was fantastic! Dining experience was great but It was really very loud - I did not expect that
The sea bass was good but the smoked cabbage did not go well with it. Also, we had to buy our bread, and it it was burnt when they bought it to our table!! We have been here many time, but the last couple times the food was disappointing, especially for the price we paid!!
Dinner was excellent, my Wagyu strip was one of the best pieces of beef I’ve ever had. The wife had lamb neck ravioli which I was equally impressed with. Salad and soups were freshly prepared and wonderful in both presentation and flavor. Service was slightly lacking - I assume due to the newness of our server, there were some timely delays and a miss. I would not let that deter from a fantastic dining experience. Small, but tight cocktail menu - lots of mid range spirit selections. Enjoyed, will definitely try and make it that way again.
The meal was exquisite, the server kind and observant at all times, and the atmosphere was relaxing. Would recommend The Mulefoot to anyone. 5 star all the way.
Great food, great service, a little touch of world class fine dining in Imlay city. It is always a true gourmet experience.
Forewarning, can get expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Our dinning experience was excellent, this was our first time at the new location, it is beautiful, the staff was very attentive as always. We had our daughter, who is a vegetarian, with us and the chef prepared a special vegetarian entree for her, which she raved about. We highly recommend this restaurant.
The martini’s were made just how we ordered them; our waitress, MaryAnn was cheerful, bright, knowledgeable & fun. The food was excellent, every bite was as good as the last and full of flavor. My filet mignon was melt in your mouth and my date had the pork porterhouse and it was the same. We will be going back again.
We took my daughter to the Mulefoot for her 15th birthday and it was excellent as usual! The food is prepared perfectly and the blend of flavors are amazing. We started with the bread baked there at the their bakery and it did not disappoint!! We had the rye and the sourdough with their homemade butter....I could live on just this bread but next was the Jowl bacon. If you are a bacon lover, this is a must!!! Next was their cut of the day and the pork was so juicy and flavorful!! My daughter liked it better than the filet mignon her boyfriend ordered! Lastly, we had dessert and their French Press coffee. A perfect ending to a tasty and satisfying meal with the most attentive service!! They even gave her a birthday card signed by the staff! I would eat here every day if I could!! Keep doing what you are doing!! We love it and the best part is that all the ingredients are grown and raised locally! Highly recommend!!! ❤️
This was a destination meal for us and worth the drive -- all the way from western Kentucky. It is expensive (to our budget), but you absolutely get what you pay for here. Trust these two chefs. They know what they are doing. Our only hold back is that places like this that do nothing to absorb sound can get very loud, and that's not conducive to a good meal; we were lucky it was a quiet Sunday evening. They say they love art. Great! Hang some textiles on the walls to absorb sound, and do something so the ceiling doesn't echo the noise. Next time we are there, we will do the chef's tasting menu with wine pairing. Can't wait!
Our waitress was wonderful! The pour-over coffee is my favorite. I had the salmon with polentoes and it was amaising. We did have the cauliflower gnocchi as an appetizer- outstanding!!
Great service from our server ellie and the bartender maria. Handcrafted cocktails we amazing and the appetizers, main course and desserts are fantastic too. Ive never had anything off the menu that hasnt been great.
