WELCOME TO THE MULE.
We’re not your traditional Mexican place. We just happen to think that tacos are a dish best served fun, with a side of liquor. Welcome to The Mule, where tacos, tequila and bourbon come to party.
Located in one of Hamilton’s most beautiful spaces, we think we’ll be your new favourite lunch spot, your regular late-night haunt and your go-to destination for a good drink. Our bartenders have crafted a bourbon- and tequila-focused cocktail menu that will surprise and fascinate, and we also have a variety of beers on tap.
And don’t forget the food. From baja wings to brisket tacos, our menu offers an approachable and fresh twist on your favourite flavours from way down south. Our tacos range from classic Mexican to weird-and-wild-you’ve-gotta-try-this. All of our food is 100% gluten-free and we offer a variety of fare that is sure to delight your vegetarian and vegan side.

Please note that your table will only be reserved for the standard seating windows (90 minutes for parties up 4 guests, and 2 hours for parties of 5+ guests). Please note that your table may overlap with our Bingo this evening, starting at 8pm. Participation is not required, but please anticipate a lively environment due to the other patrons. Only those who have booked specifically for Bingo will be guaranteed a table for the duration of the event.

The Mule is my fav restaurant in Hamilton. Everything is gluten free and I don’t have to worry about anything I order. Their queso dip is the very best! Dip dip dip Hurray my fav appetizer and the Knoxville Chicken Taco and the Brussels Sprout taco are my only orders. Disappointed the Lakeside Margarita is not on the list anymore but the Paloma Margarita is a very close second for me.

Got the trio dip: not enough, could’ve filled the small bowls. The tacos were tasty, but cold. For $7/taco, too pricey. Do not recommend and won’t return. There are better establishments for higher quality and value. Service was great though.

Overall the food is hot. The beverages are OK. I wish water had ice. That it was lemonade. The calamari was fried and breaded. It had a sauce. Next time I'll ask how the sauce was made looked like bechamel. I have no allergies but they asked if I had any. The seating is varied. I did not sample the bar drinks as I have gone dry. It was reasonably priced. I paid 25 including tip for a juice and a calamari entree. I guess it was fine.

Great meal and fantastic service. It was only us and one other family there when we went - and I found it strange that we were sat directly beside them. It didn’t ruin our experience by any means. We just thought it was a weird way of seating. The mule is one of our favs for guaranteed gluten free food! Another delicious dinner!

had the MFC to start and it was absolutely delicious Then had the blackened fish tacos, I wanted to have endless blacked fish tacos!! So flavorful Also had the spicy peach margarita…should’ve gotten a pitcher Will be back very soon

Food is amazing! Especially happy to have a fully gluten free restaurant that I don’t need to be concerned about cross contamination. Only thing I would love would be more comfortable seating. They are very tiny seats.
