The Morrison Ratings and Reviews
Very good rotating taps, craft beer selection. Burgers are simple but exceptional. Service good. My only strike against them was the unfriendly tone and general un-professionalism I got when I called about 45 minutes before our reservation to add one guest to our party. I am a patient and courteous phone speaker so that cam as a shock. In any case, our visit (part of 6) was very nice. Order the bread pudding even if you don't want bread pudding. Oh and the iron serving dish for the bread pudding was one million °
Very family friendly! Attentive and friendly wait-staff. ALWAYS a good time!!! They go all out with fun, festive holiday decorations!!! Only negative was that it was WAY too noisy that night. It's usually loud & that's ok, but you could not hear the person across the table from you that evening.
Great menu overall and the best staff in town! Everyone that worked there knew how to communicate in a very professional and friendly manner but above all they treated you like a regular patron (you feel like they're hooking you up even though it's just part of the deal - which I guess that's how it should be anyway) Would highly recommend for any occasion.
Upon arrival, they informed me that we still had to wait for a table, which was about 30 minutes because I brought my dog, which I stated in my reservation. I also requested a high chair or booster but they say us on a table top that cannot accommodate either. The patio is tiny, with barely any room for servers or patrons to get through.
On the other hand, once seated, our server was very friendly and attentive. The food was good quality and we enjoyed it.
Great meal and very reasonable prices. Got the double stacked burger with fries and a beer for $17. They have a whole page on the menu dedicated to whiskey which if I was not driving would have definitely tried. It was a little too dark inside for me (I have sensitive eyes) but food was worth it.
We first tried The Morrison a couple of months ago -- we had a great time. So when we were in the mood for a burger, we tried again. This time, we had a very charming server -- who knew very little. That would have been OK, except the food was -- how to put it? -- bad. We split a Filet Burger, which was a mistake -- the filet was tough and tasteless. How often does a burger taste better than a filet? We also split Fish & Chips -- or maybe we should say "Batter & Chips". Nothing worse than biting in and realizing that the batter is so thick that some of it didn't actually get cooked properly. The fries underneath were pretty greasy. The onion rings were a repeat of the fish. We left feeling just a bit queasy from all the grease. We won't try this place again.
We were well taken care of. The wait staff was courteous and attentive. Food was great. Our friends who were there for the 1st time were impressed. We were there for my husband's bday, and they gave him a huge bday balloon and comped dessert (the best bread pudding EVER!) Totally unexpected.
Very hard to hear my three-person group on a Saturday night; there are appeared to be several children's birthday parties, as well as about six TVs for not a very large space. The food was absolutely worth it though. Perfect cook on the burgers, good beer selection, excellent bread pudding which the manager arranged to have sent to our table - perhaps as first-timers, or he was nice enough to send merely as a courtesy for our long wait on service. Not unpleasant service, perhaps just a little understaffed.
This is a must stop and have lunch kind of place. Food was absolutely delicious, ( recommend the Morrison Filet Burger), and the desserts are even better. Jillian was our waitress and not only was she attentive and professional, but very personable. The owner Mark made several passes at the table and was equally as personable, which speaks highly of the establishment.
Will certainly be on the list of places to eat on our nest trip to LA
The food, drinks, and ambiance at The Morrison were great. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a fun place to hang out with friends or to meet new friends. The servers and operator gave the bat service I've ever experienced. Will be back again soon.
The place was hopping! It was our first time there and I expected it to be good, but it was more than that. Even though we were a bit late they reactivated our reservation and sat us down after a little wait, but considering the group ahead of us was waiting an hour for a table we were lucky. Their Valentine Special dinner was what we ordered and it was truly delicious! Since I had already read the details of it to my wife the waiter was surprised we already knew what we wanted. Just like that two glasses of delicious champagne were in our hands. The hot wings were everywhere at a large party table, so my wife really had the desire to try some. So we ordered the wings after we had already put in our order. The steaks came out with the mash potatoes and they were great. The sauce has a bit of a kick in spice, but we loved it. As we were finishing that, the wings came out. We had forgotten about them. We both had one or two but the taste was on the money. Took the rest home for later enjoyment. I gave my champagne to my wife and ordered a beer. The list was long and with awesome detail, I like knowing about my beers. I got the first IPA on the "hoppy ales" list and it was hoppy and I was happy. As part of the special we had our choice of desserts but I had read to try the bread pudding. We had that with an additional side of their Jameson flavored ice cream, what a delicious pair. Then to top it off, a tall gentleman whom we believe was named Marc, and we think is the owner or at least in charge, was so nice enough to comp our Jameson side as well as give ud two additional desserts of a dark chocolate and apple pie wrapped ice cream bars! Needless to say I came out a hero for my Valentine, my wife! Thanks Morrison!
