Contemporary American
Modern Diner. Global Fare. Delicious Fun. This is The Mockingbird. Led by talented culinary duo executive chef Brian Riggenbach and front-of-house extraordinaire Mikey Corona, The Mockingbird offers a menu of comfort classics with a global twist and an ambiance of art deco diner whimsy. Walls are covered in beautiful custom-made wallpaper, painted tin tiles on the ceiling, windows open to two patios as weather allows and a larger-than-life mirrored bird sculpture overlooking the dining room. And then there’s the food and drink! Munch on a Mockingburger or Mac N Cheese (aka Feeling Grate!) while sipping an Old-Fashioned-ish or a Punchin’ Bag (ask about it – they are famous!). We also love hosting group events! We have a private dining room, an upstairs dining room and an enclosed patio, all perfect for bridal showers and bachelorette parties plus business lunches and corporate dinners. Y’all come see us!

This is by far our favorite restaurant in Nashville. The food is phenomenal, the decor is chic and the staff are attentive and friendly.

I would have rated the overall experience very good however I have one gripe. I ordered the short rib entree which was really good but it is served with shaved fennel on top. I HATE LOATHE fennel and there was absolutely no mention of it on the menu. In my FIRST bite I chomped down on a nasty sliver of the devil weed and wasn't pleased. Fortunately it was served on top and I was able to pick it all off and it didn't leave a flavor on the dish otherwise I would have had to send it back.

When something with such a strong flavor is in the dish it needs to be called out on the menu.

The service was great.

Went for brunch. SO disappointing. So loud conversation was impossible. Ordered 2 coffees, 1 w/ cream 1 w/stevia & a cinnamon roll for starters. Cream served in a tiny 'water-type' glass that spilled each time I poured. No spoons or stirrers...had to ask twice for those. My friend had to ask 2 more times for their stevia. Finally brought 4 packs of Splenda. Got servers attn and asked again for stevia. Told "we dont have stevia" Cinnamon roll came LOOKED amazing, in reality it was cold and rock hard. Asked for a box & took it home, revived nicely in microwave. I ordered the 'Merica. Per menu: scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, roasted potatoes, Texas toast and fruit. I asked for link sausage & wheat toast Server comes back to advise "we dont have links" I changed to bacon Food came, eggs looked like they had been baked in a casserole dish, dry and so hard they had a 'crust',(or been left under a warmer) potatoes oily and burnt (NOT roasted) Toast THIN (not Texas) & white, asked for the wheat I ordered." Response, "We dont have wheat bread". Fruit: 2 small slices of Orange. I said to my friend, "It'd be so easy to operate a good restaurant. Know what you have, what you dont & be attentive". These may seem like small oversights but so easily avoided/fixed. Inexcusable. First & Last visit.

Our beverages were better than our brunch. The drinks were fine, I recommend Church Punch but not the tang drink.

The food was so pretty and creative. Our server was relazed and conversational. The drinks in a bag were so fun! There were a lot of cool booth seating options and pretty interior design to look at wherever you sat. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.

Fantastic food and vibe. We got the bulgogi steak, Brussels sprouts, arancini, a pasta dish and the adult Capri sun drinks and everything was fantastic. Highly recommend!

The food and service were great! The Brussel sprout and beet small plates were my favorite. Our server was so kind to acknowledge my friend’s birthday with a piece of birthday cake. It was a little loud but otherwise we really enjoyed The Mockingbird.

Dining at The Mockingbird was great.
Highly recommend: Tequila Mockingbird cocktail. Don't Worry, Brie Happy & Sea Señor for appetizers. Hans It Over & In Pie We Crust for entrees. Let's Get Kooky for dessert.
Searching for the perfect comfort food? Order the Don't Worry, Brie Happy and In Pie We Crust. Both dishes will give you all the warm & fuzzies.
Sea Señor is a very light & refreshing dish with excellent flavors. The Hans It Over, pork schnitzel is a massive portion that is ideal for sharing. It was perfectly crispy and very salty. So so good!
The meal is not complete without their chocolate chip cookies. Served warm with a generous scoop of vanilla, this was the perfect end to a fantastic dinner.
Our waitress seemed to have a bit of a sour attitude, but the rest of the staff and the food really overpowered her odd demeanor.

We went to Mockingbird on a recommendation from a friend and we were very pleased. The food is very creative and delicious. So many places try to use gimmicks or over-think their menus to no avail. This is what people want! Prices were fair and portions were perfect. We will definitely be back.

The taco dish and fried chicken dishes were delicious, but like most places we’ve tried in Nashville, nothing that blew our minds. Great for the price, though. Our friends had the tequila mockingbird — veryyyyy good, highly recommend this one. The service is excellent and the wait staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and ready to recommend their faves. He complementary valet is such a nice touch since parking in the area is a bit of a pain. Please tip the staff! Overall a very nice brunch experience.

The Mockingbird, with a cool vibe and eclectic feel, presents with a unique menu and diverse offerings. The punch bag drink was yummy. And all 4 of us ordered different items which made for a palatal delight of trials. Bummer that the valet was so backed up we had to park ( and pay) elsewhere.
As we arrived, the noise level was nice, but by the end of the meal, the noise level of the party next to us made our conversation screech to a halt.

We were disappointed in the Mockingbird experience after having great food etc. at Chauhan's two other restaurants. It was not a good experience. Very loud as most of the patrons were young and if you are young that would not be a problem. The Menu was sparse and the only thing I thought I would like was the grits and mushrooms. It came in a small bowl, about a cup of grits with a few overly cooked mushrooms and a few leaves of spinach. It was so salty I could not eat it. I just nibbled at it and although the waitperson was excellent, she did not even ask me why I did not eat it. My husband had a soft taco filled with potatoes and chorizo and cheese, He liked it pretty well. We had one cocktail each which were served in small coupe glasses. Our bill was $73.00 which we felt was a waste of money. We will not return and would not recommend this restaurant.

I was really impressed with the eclectic menu - refreshing in a town known for hot chicken, BBQ and southern food. If you are looking for a change from the Nashville norm, this is the place. The only negative was that our entrees came far too quickly while we were still enjoying our appetizer (delicious ceviche!). That won't stop me from returning. Prices are reasonable. Ambience is a bit old diner/eclectic (like the menu).
