Contemporary American
Modern Diner. Global Fare. Delicious Fun. This is The Mockingbird. Led by talented culinary duo executive chef / partner Brian Riggenbach and front-of-house extraordinaire / partner Mikey Corona, The Mockingbird offers a menu of comfort classics with a global twist and an ambiance of art deco diner whimsy. Walls are covered in beautiful custom-made wallpaper, painted tin tiles on the ceiling, windows open to two patios as weather allows and a larger-than-life mirrored bird sculpture overlooking the dining room. And then there’s the food and drink! Munch on a Mockingburger or Mac N Cheese (aka Feeling Grate!) while sipping an Old-Fashioned-ish or a Punchin’ Bag (ask about it – they are famous!). We also love hosting group events! We have a private dining room, an upstairs dining room and an enclosed patio, all perfect for bridal showers and bachelorette parties plus business lunches and corporate dinners. Y’all come see us!

The waffle small plate was wonderful. I wish they would have had a better beer selection.

The Mockingbird is a great dining experience! Well worth the price :-) Wonderful ambiance and delicious food. The flavors were beautifully balanced in all the dishes we had that night. We will be back!

The brie grilled cheese was amazing!! And the Brussel sprouts were amazing. A little on the pricey side but definitely worth it! I would recommend getting two small plates.

The food was great and the portions were large. They were a little more than average in price and the restaurant itself was very dimly it.

We celebrated our anniversary at The Mockingbird on the suggestion from a friend. We had a great time! The wine selection was good, and our server took the time to answer our questions and make educated suggestions. Will definitely return in the future.

Small plates were delicious. Only one waiter working upstairs, which included taking care of a group of 14 near us. He was nice, but not very attentive to our table

The service was great as our server explained all aspects of the menu and helped with gluten free items. Food was good and flavorful.

I'd highly recommend this place for a really affordable but classy dinner. Its away from the hustle and bustle of the busy nashville nightlife but you still feel like your out on the town. The punch bag drink is a must. I had the brie cheese sandwich and it was outstanding. Terrific service. I did the reservations online and we even got in early on a Saturday night. Hurry up and go!

Very tasty and creative food - bul-go-gi steak with a potato latke! How awesome. That said, their fried chicken, while incredible breaded, needs WAY more flavor!

Mockingbird has such a refined and simply cool environment, and the food is amazing. The Tatchos are a must, as is the seasonal fruit punch in a bag (an adult capri sun). The staff was friendly and checked on us enough that we didn't have to ask for refills, but not so much it was creepy. Overall a great experience that we will repeat.

My friend and I enjoyed our Friday lunch at The Mockingbird. The food there is inventive and always interesting. My favorite is the vegetarian Rueben sandwich, but it was not quite as good this time as usual--chef was having an off day, perhaps. When I have visited on weekends for brunch the noise from the music and the crowd (this place is a favorite of Bachelorette parties, it seems) is just too much, so in the future I'll stick to weekday lunches.

I went to the Mockingbird for New Years Eve dinner. I ordered the New Years Eve 5 course special. Left disappointed and would be reluctant to go back. The service was disorganized and untrained. The food seems to be microwaved.

Service and ambiance was amazing but was not impressed with the food, charges gourmet prices but doesn’t live up to the standards. But the drinks were great! So maybe just go for them and an appetizer.

Restaurant was not packed and they sat us on the outside covered patio with no heat out there in December. We were all freezing and the food took longer to come out than expected. Restaurant has a cool vibe/look to it.

Loved the food - delicious! It was a prefect dinner for our visiting in-laws. Especially loved the pimento cheeses balls and Brussels sprouts. The decor is to die for- so reminded us of being on a 1920’s Art Deco cruise ship.

Great spot, interesting menu with good vegetarian options. Couple of misses on execution (posole just lukewarm, trout special a bit overcooked), but flavors excellent.

The service and staff were great. However, the food tasted alright. My husband had duck which was almost raw on the plate. My choice of fish was good. The wait time was way too long. We went there Christmas Eve and I understand that they were busy. But to wait 1.5 hours for the food was too much. We received free appetizers but I would have preferred for them to take some percentage of the bill instead of free appetizers. Overall, I might give the restaurant another try but I wasn’t too satisfied.

Food was fantastic! Service was mediocre. We had a table of 6 and if the waitress had been more attentive she would have made a lot more money on drinks and desserts. She hardly came by so we couldn't order more drinks and ran out of time for dessert.

Thank you for your critique, Apaiged. We are glad you rated our service high and will work harder at making sure guests enjoy our food as much as our servers. If you have time to let me know which dishes the two of you had we can share the feedback with the kitchen to review. We wish the both of you the best.
