Guacamole prepared fresh at the table and was excellent. Tortas (sandwiches) were mediocre. I had brisket which was thin, tough and fatty. Wife at Cuban and it was just ok. Service was good and waiter explained everything thoroughly since we were new to the restaurant.

Food was very good. Table side guacamole was the best.

Great drinks - out of the ordinary margarita flavors - and the food was outstanding. Very popular so it's very busy inside but fun! The comments of "dimly lit" are true - but the food is worth using a flashlight for! We'll be back any time we are in Scottsdale!

Poor service...sent back grouper as it was not properly cooked and had odd fishy smell.

Extremely dark inside and very noisy. Mojitos were terrible. Food expensive and mediocre. This place is way overrated. I do not recommend it.

We have been there many times and recommended it to friends and family. Never disappoints and everyone we suggested it to has really enjoyed it also. Food and drinks are great. Don’t miss the tableside guacamole...amazing. One suggestion if you like it a little quieter...ask for outside patio, inside tends too be a little loud. Definitely one of our favorites whenever we’re in Scottsdale.

Entirely too loud music playing. Tables were small and cramped next to other diners. Waiter was outstanding and food was solid.

My husband and I were visiting from out of town and had several people recommend The Mission. We were not disappointed. The ambiance was just what we wanted: bustling but still romantic with candles throughout the restaurant. Our waiter was excellent, with great recommendations and service. We ordered everything to share, which was the perfect way to try several things. Even saved room for the fried banana and cinnamon ice cream for dessert. A must in Scottsdale!

Visit every time I’m in Scottsdale. A bit dark inside, but the food is fantastic and the service is always great. Tacos are incredible, and oddly, the kale salad is amazing.

The restaurant was very dark. We asked to sit outside and were told two larger parties were coming in so that wouldn’t be possible. We had 3 kids with us who did not have a lot of dining options.

The wait to be seated was barely a wait. We sit down and were astounded at how dark it was inside. The windows were open, so we could see the menus at least. Our server was very attentive. Our drinks were also constantly being refilled which was great. We ordered table-side guacamole. It tasted great, but the guy doing it seemed distracted by someone else and it came out VERY chunky.
Our food was definitely the highlight of the experience. I got the porchetta and it melted in my mouth. When our food arrived, however, they closed the blinds, so I really couldn’t even see what I was eating. I wanted to take a photo, but I didn’t want to disturb other diners with a flash. The food was awesome, however, my friends and I feel the prices are jacked up for what you’re really getting.
I see what this place is doing. They fill you up with chips and salsa, and CONSTANTLY refill your drinks to make up for the small portions. My entree was $30 but I would price that down to maybe $23.
Overall, the food was delicious, but it’s VERY dark inside the restaurant and the prices are high for the amount you actually get. Also, this whole place seems like it’s confused between wanting to be a fine dining establishment or a casual sit down Mexican place

Overpriced tourist trap! I enjoy a little ambiance, but this place was downright dark! Your eyes might adjust, but what's thr point? The sangria was good, but everything else was small portions for small amounts of food at ridiculously high prices. I have eaten at many of the finest restaurants around the country, and this was nothing special for the price! We ordered the guacamole made tableside. At $14, it seemed steep, but we ordered it anyway. It was good, but a small cup. We then ordered the pork tacos for 2 with 10 tortillas. You would think it would be plenty of food, but the tortillas were not much bigger than silver dollars...maybe 2 bites each, and they were slimy! The amount of pork on the skillet was a normal size portion for one. Since it didn't comw with any side item, we ordered the grits. For $6, we got a tiny dish with maybe 4 bites od grits...really? How can anyone think this is worth it? We ate at many other great places in Scottsdale, but his wasn't one of them!

The restaurant is solid. Wish the lights were a bit higher - very hard to read the menu. Lance our waiter underperformed, though he comp’d us a dessert in recognition of that fact.

We will certainly return.

We were on vacation and it was our anniversary. We made the reservation in January for this March. I called that day and asked for the reservation to be moved 45 minutes later and I was told No, because they were fully booked. When we arrived for our original time we over heard them telling people over an hour wait...We were sat on time, and they had open tables all around us.

Our waitress was terrible, she greeted us with a full stack of dirty dishes in her hands and asked what we would like to drink, as soon as we started to ask questions, she said she would come back when we were ready. It was all very fake and condescending from there on in.

A manager came by once early on and we did not say anything at that point remaining hopeful. After she walked away from us the second time I went to the waitress direct and mentioned it was our anniversary and to please help make it a nice experience. She mentioned she would send over a dessert, that was her idea of customer service.

The menu was full of ingredients and a little confusing the navigate, we were scowled at when ordering tacos for an appetizer, but then told it was ok.

The bus boy assistant was amazing and helpful. He was engaging in conversation and always there when our waitress was not.

Once our entrees arrived, we were never checked in on and needed help, so we had to get up to get another helpful busboy to assist.

Food was good. Entrees were tasty but not cohesive, the duck and grouper is what we had.

I left to go the the hostess stand and asked for the manager to stop back by, and that’s when they plopped the dessert in front of my wife, it was not a special moment as I had intended.

Bread pudding was good.

Overall food good, service was terrible.

We went to the Mission for lunch with our two kids while on vacation. It was amazing! The food and drinks were both awesome. I had the primarita and my husband had the strawberry mojito. The guacamole was done tableside and very fresh. Their pork tacos were outstanding. As well as the spinach salad. I guess the only thing I didn’t care for was the poblano grits... just because they didn’t have as much flavor as I was expecting given the description. We also sat outside which is the way to go here. Overall the food was amazing and highly recommended!

Very disappointed. An over-hyped restaurant. Lighting was so poor that we had to use our phone flashlight to read the menu and see our food. Everyone in the place was doing this. The food was not great and overpriced for the quality. Service was just ok. We will not be back.

food tasted very good, but serving size was very small. very pricey especially considering the small size of the servings. there is no ambiance unless you are a fan of eating in an extremely dark restaurant. service was very good. if you are not a big eater, price is no object, and you don't mind having difficulty making out the face of the person sitting across from you this place is great. not for me.

The food was really special! Homemade guac, wings and duck config empanadas were all fabulous. Dinner we had lamb tacos for 2 and pork tacos for 2 were both delicious. My only complaint was the extremely dark inside. If you can sit outside in the back, that's the place to be!!

We had the best waiter! The tables are very close to each other, so you do feel as though you are dining with a crowd, but the environment was overall - nice. We ended up sharing a few plates and very much enjoyed this. We had the cheese plate, the shrimp appetizer and the short rib tacos. All were fantastic!

Terrible service. Waited for drinks, coffee and water. The tableside guacamole was outstanding and very fresh. Brunch menu is limited and after calling ahead to see if we could order from the dinner menu, being told yes we could, upon arrival, we were told no! Ordered skirt steak, tough and small portions, too much sauce. Server seemed totally lost and unsure of menu items, drinks, etc.

We came for a bachelorette. Food was subpar. Lamb tacos, guacamole, Gordita, and cheese plate were amazing. Chicken tostadas and fish tacos were flavourless. Server didn’t even pay attention that some of the plates went back untouched. Mehh...not impressed and not sure what the hype was all about.
