Amazing food, the best we’ve had in Scottsdale. The service was amazing, our waitress went above and beyond, she made my mom’s birthday so special!! Highly recommend!!
Kyle did an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING job! The food was delectable! All the flavors incredible! The dessert was OUT OF THIS WORLD amazing. Bread pudding with caramel sauce and ice cream - an ABSOLUTE MUST!
Our waitress was outstanding- so pleasant and nice. And the food of course was first rate. We come here whenever we get to Phoenix
Really fantastic place to eat. Small place, definitely need reservations.
Food was excellent. The restaurant was too noisy though.
My wife and I shared the kale salad. It was very tasty and huge. We also had the pork shoulder tacos for 2. The flavors of their dishes are wonderful. I been here several times and have always had a great experience.
Server was outstanding and one of the best ever. Food exceeded expectations as well
We brought a friend from out of town. The food, drinks and service were great! He was very impressed! Gourmet Mexican food
The food was so good. We had the pork shoulder tacos and they were so flavorful and delicious. The drinks were very good. Our server was Jemar and he was so kind and had a great personality. I would definitely recommend this place.
A bit on the pricey side but Delicious food and drinks, romantic candle lit ambiance, and great service. We were hoping to have the duck confit empanadas but unfortunately they were out. Overall good dinner spot. Recommended.
Always amazing! Whenever I have friends visiting from out of town I take them to The Mission. Great service. Friendly staff. Amazing food.
Our waitress, Amanda, was fantastic. The food is always top shelf and pork is definitely their specialty. I get the pork tacos every time I visit and I'm never disappointed. My daughter had the chicken tacos and they were great as well. The street corn is almost like desert and fresh guacamole is a fantastic start.
Vacation dinner…highly recommend!!
AMAZING. Lots of hype online and it was even better than expected. The servers are truly gifted at their art describing the food. The flavors were fresh, and phenomenal and the ambiance was so cool. We felt like we walked into a speak easy and the dark restaurant lit up only by candles and the Himalayan salt bricks was the perfect back drop for the incredible food. Great spot in downtown Scottsdale!
This is the best place in town!!! The ambiance, cocktails, and food are all amazing! Service is phenomenal every time! Highly recommend!
Food was amazing! The waitress wasn’t the most attentive but overall a great experience.
Great restaurant. Loud but good environment. Delicious food.
Must do stop while on vacation
Hot dog is the bomb
The food was really good, but it's too loud to have a conversation and too dark to see the menu. Feels more like a bar than a nice restaurant.
As always, the food is amazing, service is outstanding. Our needs were met before we asked, like more chips, water, drinks before they ran out. Perfect timing. Jamar was truly great to work with. Of the two The Mission Old Town Scottsdale is really the best. Food is consistent every single time.
Everything is great at The Mission!! Start with the guacamole!!
Never had dinner there before always go for the Kobe beef hot dog at lunch. Disappointed in portion size of tacos for cost… I was still hungry after. They felt more like appetizers. Also one of my guests ordered a shot of tequila and they brought wrong one, he ended up with an $80 shot of tequila. It was fine but unfortunate. We will return but probably only for lunch due to disappointment in the portion size for the money.
We were excited for dinner at The Mission based on previous visits. The lights were so low that we had to use cell phone flashlights to read the menu and the music was too loud. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, but the timing of everything was off. It took 20+ minutes to get drinks, and nearly an hour for appetizers. The wine we'd ordered to go with our mains wasn't brought to the table until 10 minutes after the food. The Mission Margarita, Primarita, Wild Sea of Cortez Shrimp Aguachile, Duck Carnitas Empanada, and Almejas Al Vapor were all delicious! The Pacific Swordfish was a flavorful and well-composed dish, but the swordfish itself was dry and overcooked. Overall a successful evening, although we wouldn't return to The Mission based on this meal alone.
The Mission is a lovely, dark, cool place to hide from the desert heat. Great food and ambience, but shoddy -ish service (dishes came without parts of them, sauces left off, we were twice served another tables' orders. We had a great time anyhow :)
We were early so we sat at the bar, and had few drinks, made some new friends and continued to enjoy ourselves at our table. Everyone was so attentive. Will be back again.
Very average at best limited menu service above average tables too close
Food was excellent as always and they made my daughter feel special with a sweet treat for her bday.
Food was average and the tacos were tiny for the price. Fish tasteless. They eliminated the table side guacamole service and it just takes away from everything because you don’t get to tell them how tailor to your needs. The quality has gone down significantly post-Covid.
They created a table for our party of 7 which was awkwardly positioned along a busy aisle. Server was good, but took a long time to reach us and was a bit abrupt with some in our party. Get that this is a busy place though and the food (while steeply priced) was delicious. Maybe should quit calling their signature guacamole “tableside” when it comes out of the kitchen in a small bowl. Overall, brought a large group of visitors here and was underwhelmed.
The mission in old town used to be an amazing restaurant. Post covid, they have packed in more tables - so many that my chair was bumped by people just trying to squeeze by 6 times. Portions are smaller. Service is slower. And the prices have increased at least 40%. $52 for a marginally select grade untrimmed filet with gristle is absurd. Now the Mission in old town is just at or below average. With so many amazing restaurants in Scottsdale, it will be a long time in the queue before I return back.
The service was AMAZING!
Overrated restaurant in my opinion. Some of the food was really good others not so much. I’m pretty sure my Mahi Mahi tacos were just frozen cod from the grocery store with tartar sauce on top. The glass my beer came in was clearly dirty. This place wasn’t with the $100 my wife and I spent. We both walked away feeling ripped off. If you want to look at a pretty plate presentation then go here. If you want good tacos go find a hole in the wall place and spend $10.
Very dark (low light) environment. Food bland. Very different from our dining experience years ago.
Birthday, delicious Mexican street corn and salmon
The food at the mission is never a disappointment always quality and tasty. I had forgotten how loud this restaurant is, makes it very difficult to have conversation.
Amazing food, service, atmosphere. My favorite restaurant so far in AZ. Can't wait to go back.
Duck empanadas are the best!!!
Brussels sprouts were a bit bitter for my taste as a side and on the taco entree.
Overall this place is as great as I remember every time I come thru Phoenix.
Delicious Latin cuisine and beautiful decor make for a memorable experience.
