The Mission – Old Town Scottsdale
Sip a signature margarita with unique flavors such as cucumber jalepeno or aguacate (yes, we said avocado) as you watch your Tableside Guacamole made to your taste from more than a dozen fresh ingredients.
Home made tortillas, and salsas are made fresh daily to accompany an assortment of meats and seafood prepared on a Plancha or a grill using pecan and mesquite wood that instills a rich flavor. And save room for dessert including our pumpkin bread pudding or expresso churros.

Swordfish was poor, not worth $45. This dish was recommended by waiter who did a poor job overall. Long wait for service. Place is overpriced, noisy, cramped and overrated. Would not recommend.
AmZing as always
Duck Carnitas Empanadas were delish. Loved our server’s personality and the atmosphere was very cool. It’s very dark, though.
Would def recommend. 👍🏻
Food was great - service was excellent - Daughter brought girlfriends from college to Scottsdale for first time and we decided to treat them to an authentic place their first night in town. It was perfect.
Delicious food, phenomenal ambiance and amazing service. The Hibiscus Margarita was delicious! Will definitely be back!
The Prickly Pear Margarita is so good! Rib eye for two, Duck confit empanadas and churros are AMAZING. Fun and energy is on point.
Beautiful place in general, a little to dark in my opinion and tables are very close together. Food is quality and portion sizes seem to be typical. Service was good although we did have to wait to order but our server was very accommodating.
If you’re in the area, this food cannot be missed. This is upscale Mexican cuisine and almost every dish is something you haven’t seen before. The service is very good as well!
Great food and good prices
Try the pork shoulder in any form!
This time I give The Mission an excellent review. The manager, Darva", was true to his word and took very good care of us. The wait staff was very attentive and very concerned about my wife's GF situation. The food is creative Mexican cuisine and the prices are very reasonable. I will continue to go to The Mission and suggest it to others.
We truly enjoyed this restaurant we ended up sitting at the bar and Jay waited on us. He was extremely nice and very helpful with us making our dinner choices. I will definitely go back it is really a nice restaurant and it was a lot of fun
One of the best restaurants to get together with friends in Old Town Scottsdale! Can’t beat their menu, atmosphere and service!
The food was amazing! We had a larger group and everyone was pleased with what they got. The service was also great. We will all definitely be going back when we are in Scottsdale next.
Amazing place! Kind of odd when we walked in because it’s so dimly lit, however the food and the service was AMAZING! our server Ty was awesome and accommodating with all my food restrictions. Gluten free and vegan choices!
I would highly recommend this restaurant! The food was amazing!
The server was nice and so helpful!
He gave us great suggestions on what to order! This should be on your list to check out when you are in Scottsdale!
Great spot - fantastic food, ambient & energetic. Not kid friendly though. A must visit!
Place was recommended by a friend and I'm so glad she did. This place is amazing
Food and service were great
Great atmosphere! Our server, Kyle, was personable, attentive, and friendly. He made great recs. Would definitely return when in town.
Amazing service as always and the menu never disappoints!!
Loved the inside. The bar looks cool as well. It was a bit noisy, but the food and service were great!
The food and drinks are good but the area of the dining room (to the right of the entrance as you are walking in) was very noisy. A lot noisier than usual even for seating going back to normal to pre-pandemic levels.
This was our second trip to The Mission. It’s hands down one of our favorites when we come to the area. The ambiance and decor is gorgeous. The food and drinks are impeccable. I highly recommend the pork shoulder tacos and their quac is to die for. We started at the bar with Jay who was super nice and helpful. Then moved to our table with Rich as our server. He was also super nice. The food is great and the staff is fantastic.
We read the great reviews and were not disappointed! We had shrimp tacos and the butternut squash tacos. To die for! The guacamole and salsa were fantastic. It was so good we are going to break our vacation rule and go back a second time before we leave.
I came here primarily to get the table side guacamole. After waiting 15m past my reservation, I sat down and ordered. Waited another 20m before asking the staff if my guacamole was coming. He looked at me and asked if I ordered guacamole. Sigh. Then within 3 mins guac appear pre-made. What a let down. Beyond that, food and drinks were just meh.
The mahi-mahi tacos were amazing. Loved the option for how spicy we wanted the guacamole. The cocktails were so good. The waitress recommended a margarita with ghost pepper infused tequila it was so good. Always our go too dining when we visit!!
Overall good experience. Would have preferred indoor seating for the ambiance and to be out of the heat but could not accommodate us. Guacamole and street corn were great.
Wonderful atmosphere. Service was outstanding. Food is pricey for what you get.
I had a margarita which was very good! I would go back.
Great place for a special evening.
Again, The Mission remains excellent at service food and ambience. It is remarkable how consistent these aspects are about this place. Excellent and memorable experience with friends.
Good was good but not seasoned enough with salt and the fried egg was over cooked.
I used to frequent this place a ton. It’s definitely not as good and special as it was - not even close. Now I’d say it’s just decent.
Horrible, slow service.
Great! Thank you!
Crispy Pork Belly!
At first, the hostess sat us outside (in 105 degree weather) and lied and said I had requested outside patio on my reservation. As if. Lol. But after throwing a mild fit we got inside as we were supposed to be with our month in advance reservation. Once inside - experience exceeded expectations. My advice is to be sure you somehow note on your reservation that you want to be inside only. That’s the whole point of dining at THE MISSION is to be inside THE MISSION. perhaps lunch time in the winter the patio would be nice but not on a June heat of the summer day time for sure.
The is always tasty and the service is perfect!!!
The lunch menu is a more limited than dinner, giving you a choice of appetizers and tacos, but everything was really good. The Mission margarita was fantastic!
