Home made tortillas, sauces and salsas are made fresh daily to accompany an assortment of meats and seafood prepared on a Plancha or a grill using pecan and mesquite wood that instills a rich flavor. And save room for dessert including our pumpkin bread pudding or expresso churros.

Waiter was attentive and wonderful! Beautiful place.
Loved the location.
I’ll be back for sure!
It was nowhere near the experiences we've had at the restaurant in Old Town. Drinks were weak but the table-side guacamole was awesome as usual. But from there it went downhill. 5 out of the 6 of us agreed that the portion sizes and quality of our entrees was disappointing. $30 for a chicken leg quarter and some rice? I won't be returning and I have a feeling my friends share the same feelings..............
We wanted a special Saturday night out. The Mission more than delivered. The food, service and overall experience were wonderful! Jordan, our server, was friendly and did an excellent job of taking care of us and making suggestions of things we might not have tried otherwise. He was attentive without being overbearing. The manager on duty, Joe, came around a couple of times to check to make sure everything was good. It was superb! The swordfish was fantastic and the duck taco appetizers were some of the best we've ever had. And the chocolate dessert was to die for. Would definitely go back ... one of the best dining experiences we're have in quite some time!
I want to thank the staff and everyone involved in making our first date experience amazing. Catherine our server was patient, attentive, and guided our meal. The teamwork of the staff was awesome.
I had requested flowers for the table and the Mission staff obliged. It was so thoughtful. What was even better was they thought enough knowing that it was a first date that they sat us upstairs away from the hustle and bustle on the first floor. We were sat practically alone and private. I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you Mission staff. I really appreciate it.
The Mission is a family favorite. We tried some new dishes this time and they were fantastic! The Pork Shoulder for 2 and the Porcetta were really flavorful and tender. Additionally, every taco dish I have tried has been wonderful. I am celiac so it is such a treat to find a great restaurant that really understands the threat of "contamination" and prepping food to satisfy each diner's needs.
Birthday dinner was awesome. Todd our sever took great care of us!
Favorite place, but this visit was very rushed and service was fair.
Really would like to love this place but for the price and amount of food you get is ridiculous! Almost $20 for 3 tiny tacos and we also ordered the flat iron steak and essentially there are 3 bites of steak. Won’t go back again ! Wonder how long this place will last. Everywhere else is packed except this place.
A great night with outstanding food and service!
Only outside was available. Unfortunately the misters weren’t close enough to us, so it was warm. Food was great! Service was not. Although our server was knowledgeable and friendly, she rarely was around!
Hands down the best service I have ever had at a restaurant. Not a single staff walked by us without a smile and asking how we were doing and if we needed anything. The food and drinks were absolutely phenomenal as well. I can't recommend The Mission Kierland enough.
The food, service and atmosphere were amazing! Tim was a knowledgable and engaging server.
Great margaritas, but they're a bit on the pricey side. The food is good, but wish they had a few more healthy options (vegan/vegetarian). You really have to read the menu descriptions and ask questions. They seem more than happy to make substitutions if requested. The service was friendly and prompt. Overall, it's a fun, casual place. Definitely worth a visit.
Cocktails were excellent Dinner was fantastic and the server was very knowledgeable and thorough w the menu. Great experience.
Enjoyed our first dinner here. Great service by Kathryn who had excellent suggestions for food and drinks. We order the dinners with duck and pork and enjoyed every moist, flavorful bite. The presentation was almost too good to eat. Afternoon dinner we also enjoyed a few cocktails at the downstairs bar. The entire staff was on par assuring we had the best experience.
Never disappoints. Excellent service. Lively atmosphere. Tableside guac. Margaritas. Street corn. Tacos. What more could you ask for?
The food is absolutely delicious!! You cannot go wrong with the table side guacamole and the tacos. The staff went above and beyond on service. Definitely will be back!
The food was good, service was good and the place was overall nice but nothing to warrant 5 stars.
Some interesting things on the starter menu. We like to share little plates tapas style. Our server didnt seem that knowledgable about the menu when we asked about certain items. The place is a bit noisy so we tried an upstairs table toward the back. The duck empanada was good the shell was nice and crispy but came with a lot of sauce flooding the plate. The pork belly was also good and the presentation was better. The roasted vegetable gorditas needed something to punch them up flavor wise. I really liked the mexican chocolate milkshake while everyone else liked the churros. Overall good, not outstanding. Wine prices are high but then thats Scottsdale.
Had a great time and the food was amazing as always. Great margaritas too!
Really enjoyed the original The Mission last time we visited AZ...was hoping for similar experience.
The lady that made the guacamole was super friendly/quality. Our server was good but food...super average. Also the greeting/service at front door was well below average. Not a great experience.
The food was either under cooked or over cooked. Tried 3 dishes none of which came out right. Seems like a nice place and maybe it was an off night as the place was recommended by several people.
Great service! Love the food and the guacamole is wonderful!
Indoor is noisy but we sat outdoor by ourselves in the top patio and it was amazing!! Service was a little slow though but food was excellent!
Tim is the best server! Love this place and the food is amazing!
Food is always good and service is great.
I was excited to try The Mission for dinner and was majorly dissatisfied and disappointed. The service was slow and the table super cramped. While the ambiance is lovely the music was very loud and difficult to hold a conversation over. The food is very pricy for "elevated" Mexican food and the menu difficult to navigate. We ordered the pork tacos for two to share and it was very very dry. Our waitress forgot our appetizer and only offered to bring it our after dinner was served. The table sitting directly next to us was also dissatisfied with her service and lack of communication on the menu which lead to them ordering a $65 steak unknowingly. I would not recommend. There are much better restaurants in the Valley for the price we paid with much better service and food.
Value for price paid not very good. Cocktails were either extremely measured with very little main alcohol
Ingredient Or just bad and costly for low alcohol content Pricey filet for maybe 4 to 5 ounces max. You Let’s face it’s not Dominick’s or Mastros. Plates sat way too long on the table before being bussed. And $14 for a single avocado guacamole is crazy. Wait time for food was long, and the restaurant was NOT full. The excuse was that , “well three tickets just came in ahead of you.” I could care less since 2 or 3 other tables that came in way after us were served quickly. Maybe if you are put into the upstairs dining room that is the kiss of service death. It was also freezing in our spot where they turned down the air just before we finished. Skipped dessert at that point. I take some responsibility as I should have asked for a table downstairs , but did not as I usually would. This is my first and last visit to this Mission. They should have stuck with the original, unique and quaint one.
Food was OK but not worth the money. We ordered the table side guacamole, which was good. Unfortunately we didn't have much time to eat it because our main meal came out super quick. One of the entrees was the rotisserie chicken and it was dry. Not what I would expect for a $30 entree. My little tiny tacos were OK, not worth the money.
Also, it was my husbands birthday and apparently they came out and surprised him with dessert and a sparkler ceremony - while I was in the bathroom! I was gone for a few minutes, they couldn't have waited?
Some of the best food in town! The atmosphere and energy set this place apart. But the food is fantastic.
The food was excellent, however the service was not. We first waited at least 10 minutes until assigned a server. Our appetizers came out quickly but we waited over 45 minutes for our main dishes and were left with empty drinks the entire waiting period. I’m beyond disappointed with the service and lack of compensation as this was supposed to be a celebratory dinner for a graduation.
Loved the Avocado margarita
The fresh prepared guacamole was excellent
Well presented food great service
Fined there twice during our stay
The restaurant in general was good. Innovative, interesting food and decor. Prices reasonable. Huge selection of tequilas. Our waitress, though, was probably the worst I have ever had, which impacted our whole meal. In retrospect, she was probably new and untrained. Regardless, she was incompetent. We noticed that other waitstaff seemed to be fine so this may have been an anomaly.
Service amongst the worst I've ever had and I dine out 2 -3 times a week. There are many, much better, dining options in Kierland. Save your money and your time.
From the friendly hostess to the fabulous bar service from Nathan to our superb server Sarah our special night with friends and a Birthday Celebration was 5 Star plus! Thanks
The continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in all of Scottsdale. The food is consistently very good and the service is exceptional!
First time at this location but it has the same great food as the Old Town Scottsdale location. Sarah was terrific and is a very knowledgeable server. Food (pozole and lamb tacos) and wine were terrific!
We went for Restaurant Week/ the food was tasty and presentation was very good. However the food was slow to come and after we had finished our entrees waited 25 minutes for dessert. The lady who attended our table kept on saying she didn’t know what the problem was in the kitchen. That should worry most- in a restaurant no one working there should shame “ the kitchen “. The manager insisted on us not paying for our food which we did anyway leaving it all in cash as they refused to run our credit card. Having bad service should be corrected with good service for future customers not with free food. Bribes are dishonest!
This is one of my favorite places in Scottsdale! Some of the best food you'll find anywhere. This trip though was a bit disappointing because of seating options. Was originally told balcony was closed even though many tables were open and people were sitting up there and no reasoning was given. Then we were sat next to a young child even though there were many tables open near by and finally they wanted us to squeeze in by the stairs. We had a reservation and there were plenty of tables open but we opted for the bar.
