This was my second time at Mission and while the first experience was out of this world, this one left something to be desired. Extremely poor service where the staff at check in acknowledged that we were celebrating a birthday and the waiter brought us our check without even asking us how everything was and without even offering us dessert. The food was mediocre at best... Only worth going for the guac. Skip everything else.
I arrived early so the restaurant was not very busy. The waiter was very informative about menu recommendations. I chose the Caesar Salad, Mexican street corn and skirt steak tacos. They were each delicious! I would definitely visit the restaurant again if I return to this area.
Great, lively ambiance. Great place to bring friends.
We went to The Mission for lunch, celebrating my wife’s birthday. We were seated right away and were greeted by our server immediately. After water was brought to the table the server explained the cuisine and menu items. Once the meals were brought to the table we quickly learned that our 10yr old didn’t order correctly and wouldn’t eat, we had to order her a different entree which was brought immediately and without interruption of our meal. The server was very attentive and professional.
Great waiter. Provided excellence menu recommendations.
Looking to spend a lot of money and getting sub-standard service? This is your place. This restaurant has Michelan aspirations but Waffle House standards. I'll spend my arm and a leg somewhere else.
the food wasnt great and the service was just ok. wont go back there
Awesome. Fabulous experience will dine again soon
Hands down one of the best dining experiences ever. The food was great, but the service was phenomenal!!!
We had previously been at the other Scottsdale location and loved both the guacamole and pork shoulder tacos, so we ordered them again and were not disappointed.
hostess rude. We made a reservation a week ahead of time. She put us at an awful location. We asked to move and she rolled her eyes right at us. Server is friendly but only recommended the most expensive items on the menu.
Wonderful experience all around! We would love to be back
Too many reservations, got stuck on the patio overlooking the parking lot-no misters!! Loud music terrible service!!
Staff was friendly and took great care of us. I have food allergies and the chef was extremely accommodating. The food was delicious.
Carco was our amazing server! This wasn’t our first time to The Mission, but it was the first time to the Kierkand restaurant and Carco made it so much better with his dining suggestions and attentiveness! We will be back and we will request Carco!
Great service and great food!
Not what it used to be pre-Covid. The menu has shrank considerably, and the food quality and presentation just isn't plate-licking good as we remembered. Prior to Covid it was our favorite restaurant and we had tried at least half the menu with zero disappointments. It is still decent, but not fantastic. The noise level was uncomfortably high sitting at the bar, which is where we prefer to sit. Our bartender was fairly new, and he didn't even know what it used to be like to I suppose in all fairness he has no basis for comparison. Still, that is no excuse for his mediocre service - we sat for 10 minutes drinks empty waiting on our bill. Only when the last ordering customer had been served did we finally see our bill. We won't be going back.
Flavors were good
Portions are small and overpriced
$18.50 for 3 shrimp appetizer
As Tex-MEX goes $16.00 for small dish of rice and beans is ridiculous
Service was so moderate for the ambiance
Great food!!!! The best Mexican I’ve ever had!
Great atmosphere, service, drinks, guacamole, salsa, and kale salad. Pork shoulder tacos were overly sweet, dry, and lacking salt. I'd definitely order something different next time.
Service from the very beginning was an absolute let down. We made a reservation and when we got there everyone seemed completely flustered. We requested a table upstairs and the hostess assured us she could "make that happen". She walked us to our seat downstairs and when we got there, it was a tiny table in the corner next to the bathrooms and service station. I said, "I thought upstairs was available" and she looked at me like I was crazy. "Oh that is just for large parties tonight, there is no way you can sit up there." So all night we got to listen to employees yelling "corner" and patrons asking "is it this way to the restroom". The cocktail was tiny, weak, tasted like fruit juice and cost $14. The bartender forgot salt on my drink and the server swapped glasses at the table, a bit odd. Main course was delicious, and so was desert but there was a 30 minute gap between when we put in the desert order and when it was received. Oh and I had to box my left-overs myself. All in all the food was good but the service reminded me of Cheesecake Factory at best.
the waiters zipped around a lot and left our table multiple times before we could make a request.
food tasted really good but some of my meat was tough and hard to chew.
We had a fantastic meal! Brian was excellent as our server as was very attentive! Highly recommend this establishment!
good good good xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx good xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxgood
Went for Arizona Restaurant week and got a tasty variety of their most popular dishes. Service was excellent even for a very busy Saturday dinner rush. Looking forward to returning.
We had dinner here during restaurant week ($33 a person) and it was so good! Excellent margaritas, really interesting food including duck confit fried rice and pumpkin bread pudding. Next time we are in Scottsdale, we will be back!
Everything was top notch! We will definitely
Everything was excellent.
Food and waiter super good.
Only minor complaint is "techno boom boom" music playing loudly in background endlessly.
Had a late lunch, not that many people eating at this time. Waiter struggled to fill up my water and was not very attentive.
Not a lot of options on the lunch menu but we had a good experience.
The food is AMAZING! Try one of everything and you won't be disappointed.
The restaurant week selections did not disappoint. The crispy pork belly lettuce cups are awesome as is the pumpkin bread pudding. Our waiter was attentive and sweet. The hostess, MOD and busboys were all wonderful and we had a great date night
Creative and delicious food, fresh cocktails and outstanding decor. We loved this place and will return.
Management has got to clean this place. I was aghast at how dirty the patio furniture was. The chairs are grimy, there was food on the patio booth seats and the back cushions on the patio booths are just filthy. Tables leaning over, broken edges…not a good look. My husband’s food was delivered cold after a VERY long wait from the kitchen (however mine was fine) and the waiter did say he would remove from the bill, which was done, but I was disappointed that the MOD dud not make an appearance after our wait person said he would be coming over. He peeked out the door and scowled at us, but that was it. The menu and food are terrific, but this place needs some freshening up and better management.
Every morsal of food i ate was created with thoughtfulness. Jaime our waiter knew the ins and outs of the entire menu and was so attentive. Cant wait to return to this elevated latin cuisine experience!
Wonderful meal in every regard. Presentation was awesome.
Food was fabulous! Service by Matthew was excellent! A very pleasant experience.
Beautiful restaurant. Biggest flaw was service being very slow. We ordered both from restaurant week menu and regular menu. Food was average. Drinks were good. Would go back for ambiance and drinks.
The mission used to be our go to spot to take out of town guests but no more! The post Covid menu has been shortened along with the drink service. Sad, but true. Hopefully in the future, the original mission will return.
Amazing food and beautiful atmosphere!
