Home made tortillas, sauces and salsas are made fresh daily to accompany an assortment of meats and seafood prepared on a Plancha or a grill using pecan and mesquite wood that instills a rich flavor. And save room for dessert including our pumpkin bread pudding or expresso churros.

i always love coming to this location of the mission! the food and ambiance never disappoint. the old town location has equally great food and service although it’s very dark and hard to see the menu/company you’re with. i will always pick the kierland location! love love love.
Nice people. Taylor is a great bar tender. David is an excellent waiter. Ambiance is fantastic. Food is great!
We would not recommend this restaurant without an overhaul of their service standards. We went on a quiet Sunday night and had long waits between visits from wait staff, even having to get up and ask our server for more drinks. The food was fine, but not good enough for us to return at this point.
We sat on patio. Food was tasty but service lacked. Had to ask to bus our table with appetizers and entrees. Had to bring payment in to someone different than our server.
Our concierge highly recommended this place; definitely not worth it. We waited 15 minutes for the server to acknowledge us, 90 minutes for our dinner, and never checked with us throughout the meal or if we needed anything else. This was a special occasion for us and we were very disappointed; food was just okay, service was terrible.
The food was absolutely amazing! I love the atmosphere! I thought it first the menu wasn’t going to be good for me but since everything was fresh , homemade my stomach did fantastic. And ...the flavors that were bursting through each bite were incredible! Wow this is a place you’d want to go and eat! I wish I could meet the chef! This is my first time here we have been to the other location but this one is equally as fantastic.
Food and service was good. I wrote on Open Table reservation and then told the hostess it was an engagement dinner and for them to do a dessert with Congratulations on your engagement. No acknowledgement or dessert.
Good service but food was just mediocre. Plenty of other options in this neighborhood.
Visiting from out of town and used Open Table to find a bite to eat. The great reviews were warranted. Interesting cocktails that were very good. I recommend the Bitter Bees. Dinner was great, we ordered a few different apps which were all quite good. Entrees were good as well. I got the pork shoulder tacos with pineapple habanero glaze. It was tasty but a bit more sweet pineapple than spicy habanero. I really like spicy so would have appreciated it being a bit higher on the Scoville scale. All in all, I would definitely go back.
The food was delicious! The service was not great. We were seated and the hostess explained they were out of menus - strange because we were on the early side of dinner at 5:45. The hostess said she’d bring menus when they became available. After a few minutes, we ordered cocktails and our server asked if we’d like an appetizer. We explained we we didn’t have menus. He made some suggestions for appetizers and we ordered those he recommended. A few minutes later he asked if we’d like to order dinner. We reiterated our lack of menus. He brought menus and about two minutes later, asked if we were ready to order. We reminded him we’d just gotten our menus and needed time to look at them. In the end, we felt rushed and felt like things were disorganized. Between water refills, appetizers, clearing plates and the menu confusion, there were constant interruptions to our conversation. We felt very rushed... I’m not inclined to go back soon, but the food itself was delicious. Maybe we’ll try their other location.
Very excited to take a new date to this place because of all the hype. Ended up having a bad experience from not being able pick a different table to sit at even with a reservation. The recommended appetizers were very dry and tasteless. The main course was also very disappointing for the price.
Definitely would not recommend to anyone.
Loved it great atmosphere, food and best margs.
Food and ambiance was amazing but the service was lacking as it always is when I dine here.
New Year’s Eve
We had a really fabulous time at The Mission on New Year's Eve! The food was delectable and the atmosphere was so festive in respect to the holiday.
Very loud. But food was amazing
Rushed, one menu for four people, food was just OK.
Enjoyed our meal. Weird service from the hostess that threw us off at the beginning. Our table server was great and made up for it. Great margaritas and food was very good.
Menu little limited. Would have liked more vegetable options
Our server was one of the best servers we have ever had. He attended to all details without interrupting in any way. The food was delicious but it was the extraordinary service that truly made our evening special and memorable.
Although our waitress was excellent and food superb our dinner was ruined by a mistake in the kitchen and 5 of us were finished by the time the last order was served. I should have sent all 5 back and asked they serve all at once. Leaves a bad taste to pay a lot for a good meal gone bad due to the restaurants error
Amazing food and service. Can’t wait to come back.
Restaurant was busy, but we did get seated right away. It is extremely noisy there and hard to carry on a conversation. You have to talk very loud to hear the person on the other side of the table. Service was good and prompt ( except for getting the check). Ordered a blood orange margarita. It was good, but at $14.00 was over priced as opposed to other places we have dined at before. Guacamole was good and made by our table side. Main course was wife had the salmon which she said was ok. I had chicken tacos. They give you 3 mini tacos which you could eat with one bite. That should be an appetizer. Guess you call their food modern Mexican. Which means they make the food small and pretty but up charge you on the food. And to top it off, they displayed a huge lighted cross over the bar ( had to be 10ft tall approx.). And they had other crosses throughout the restaurant. All in all a disappointed evening. Would I go there again? Would be extremely hesitant to have a meal there.
It was exceptionally loud in the restaurant and difficult to hear people talking at our own table. The reception staff and bartenders were less than welcoming and actually left a bad first impression (On top of the noisy restaurant.) The servers at our table were very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent but I would prefer eating at the original location and would recommend it over the Kierland location. This restaurant was beautiful but disappointing.
Food quality is not as good as in the past. Swordfish was fair. Chicken was tasteless. Usually the table prepped guacamole is great and done tableside. This tim the cart was not next to table which kind of ruins the process. Guests were disappointed after we told them how great it was. Perhaps holidays put too much stress on kitchen and wait staff
Good good, different combinations, and good service.
Great Latin American cuisine, good service, and great environment. Carnitas were a bit too sweet yet bland for me...
Understanding that it was a holiday you didn’t treat a regular like a regular. Our table was in the flight path to or from the kitchen and bathroom After chips and salsa we ordered and after at least 30 minutes with multiple our cold food came out. The chicken wings were burnt and inedible, the duck was cold, and pork shoulder and strip steak were coldest.
It was Christmas Day dinner and it’s was very busy! Three fish entrees were already out by 7:00. But overall a good experience and would recommend.
Terrible. We were told there would be a heater but when we sat down there was none for that table and then we were told that they were expecting a table for 10 so they couldn’t move us to another table where there was a heater it just went on and on and there was always an excuse why we couldn’t have a the heater. Then when I asked if there were any wipes after eating chicken wings the waiter told me that he would bring me a napkin that I could dip in the waterYour staff needs more training. The Kierland mission doesn’t hold a candle to the one in old town. We were really really disappointed and I don’t plan to return there are plenty of good restaurants in town with good service and well trained Servers and hosts. Too bad. The mission in old town is so good.
Food was good but unexceptional...had the fish tacos. Tiny portions. Friend had seafood soup. Tiny portion. OVERPRICED, will not return. Be prepared to spend a lot for a little.
I found the food bland and serving sizes small , especially for the cost. There are far better choices for really good mexican food. This was one of the few restaurants that had availability on Christmas and now I know why.
Overall outstanding experience. Good was amazing - especially Peruvian fried chicken. Wait staff very professional in all ways. Well worth a visit.
really good, exelent & pretty place...
We LOVE the Mission so it was a perfect place to go after church on Christmas Eve. The servers were excellent & the food was delicious, as always. Required dishes include: Street Corn & Guacamole. We also love the margaritas!
Christmas Eve, well spent.
Christmas Eve at the Mission has been our tradition for years now. Both our server Mel and dinner was amazing! The holiday pork chop was incredible and as always, all the food was spot on. Can’t wait to go back!
Sunday brunch. Our 51st Anniversary. First time visit to a new restaurant. Food was great. Service attentive and personable without being intrusive. Had guacamole made at the table and their version of eggs benedict. Absolutely fine.
Will plan on trying dinner there soon!
Food and service were good as always. We would eat here a lot more often if the prices were 15-20% lower.
