The Mission - Kierland Commons
Sip a signature margarita with unique flavors such as cucumber jalepeno or aguacate (yes, we said avocado) as you watch your Tableside Guacamole made to your taste from more than a dozen fresh ingredients.
Home made tortillas, sauces and salsas are made fresh daily to accompany an assortment of meats and seafood prepared on a Plancha or a grill using pecan and mesquite wood that instills a rich flavor. And save room for dessert including our pumpkin bread pudding or expresso churros.

Service is incredibly slow.
Drinks are grossly overpriced.
But the food is pretty good.
Wonderful food and service, we were on the upper patio great seats.
Food. Is so delicious. Brilliant chef who uses lots of flavor. Very nice atmosphere.
The server was never around. Food was sent back. We were stuck in a corner table despite multiple tables being open in the restaurant. The atmosphere was nice but the food and the service made it so we would never return.
Best margarita ever!!
It was not bad, just was not great. The portions were micro size. Literally the smallest tortilla I have ever seen for the tacos. The salmon was good but again just very small. Beautiful place but even with an entree and two sides we left hungry.
We sat outside on the upper level. Our waiter was excellent.
I can’t remember his name, but we were there on a Saturday night.
My husband had the swordfish and I had the hangar steak.
We had the pork belly starter. Everything was excellent!
You all really should consider happy hour! Waiter was not warm & friendly and the friends that were new to restaurant commented on that :( We left earlier b/c of these 2 things...
The food was great. The servers seemed to mean well. Maybe it was an off day. I don't know if they were short on staff in the kitchen, with the wait staff, or what. It took about an hour to get our food and when we finally got it, it was lukewarm. And, it wasn't just our table that was getting this slow service.
Excellent service and delicious food
Overall the service was adequate but very slow and there seemed to be a lot of socializing and chatting amongst the staff and not a lot of attentiveness to guests. Churros sold out which was disappointing.
As always, cocktails and appetizers (pork belly lettuce wraps & guac) never disappoint but main courses did not meet expectations (pork shoulder special and chorizo porchetta - dry and chewey - not melt in your mouth as described by our server).
We arrived for our 5:30 reservation ordered the Valentine's Day special and did not get our entree for 90 minutes. Food fair. Noise level high with loud obnoxious sound. We will not be returning.
Our Open Table reservation was honored...barely. We showed up on time, but still were given a 90 minute time limit for our dinner. Unacceptable, rude, insulting, just about ruined dinner. Maybe they just treat Open Table reservations that way, but on any caseit makes me much less likely to use Open Table, recommend Open Table, or go to this particular restaurant, again. I'm 70 years old, I should have known better then to accept the time restriction and simply refused to sit down and just walk away.
We ate at your restaurant last year and was great food and service staff.
This time the waitress was terrible
We requested sauce on the side for wings. She said no problem as she was writing it down.
Guess what We just then cancelled the wings when they came.
There was 4 of us. We order two cocktails and a bottle of red wine for the other two people.
We had to request the wine as she did not bring it.
This was a business dinner and I must say my guests and I were less than impressed with the restaurant.
Way too loud, way overpriced and overrated! Never to return
Great decor. Interesting varied menu. Would return for certain. Our second visit.
Food and service was excellent! Tableside guac incredible!
The outside seating is very comfortable and the heaters helped as the sun was setting. The special was Swordfish and it was very good. The table side guacamole was good but was not a lot given the price.
I prefer the Mission in Old Town Scottsdale. I feel that the food and drinks are better there.
Great cocktails and amazing food. Cool atmosphere.
Service was very slow. When our entree arrived, we had to wait another 5 minutes for plates.
Awesome food and service. Beautiful view. Great bar.
Wait time was quite long after we ordered. All the entrees were very spicy. Music was very loud.
We don’t come for dinner as it is too loud.
Food was served cold, and average. The service was spotty at best and they weren't busy. Not on my return list.
Great food and the server was great. We have made the Mission a favorite.
We enjoy visiting The Mission for both lunch and dinner. We often bring business guests from out of town.
The waitress was great and gave us a brief history on the restaurant and the chef since it was our first time. Food was good, the value for what we received was mismatched in my opinion (small plates with high price). The atmosphere was cool though.
The food was wonderful as usual, but the blaring DJ + mediocre trombonist on the upper floor really killed the experience. Our table could barely hear each other. This was a Tuesday, not a Saturday. I’ll definitely stick to the other location in Old Town from now on.
Gorgeous setting. Top notch service and amazing food!
Food was excellent as always. Service was beyond terrible and disappointing.
Went with a friend and made a reservation for 6:45 pm! We were sat at exactly our reso time and had a great server with an even better table! Loved the place and will be back for more! (Food was awesome too- highly recommended any of skirt steak tacos!
$32 for three bite sized tacos...enough said.
Hostess lost my reservation. Had to show her my phone for proof of confirmation. They ran out of salsa! I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that had this problem! They brought out green salsa and we sent it back. The pork carnitas for two was very fatty. Loved the shredded kale salad though! Drinks were good too.
My husband and I always go to The Mission when in Scottsdale and have loved it. This time, we were there on a busy Saturday night. Our table was not ready when we arrived and we were seated about 15 minutes late. However, around 75 minutes after seating's, our waitperson informed us they needed our table, which was a VERY tiny two-top, with not enough room to hold our hurried plates. The food seemed even rushed and served. While I'm sure we'll go back, it won't be with the same loyalty and impression we've had in the past. Don't get me wrong---but it was still a 4-star night, but this time, it was NOT a 5-star experience.
The food and service was very good , I would recommend you try this restaurant
Amazing service and the food was delicious
