Everything was very good. Pork we had was dry.
One of our favorites when we visit Scottsdale. It never disappoints.
Had a reservation at 5 pm. No one was shown to a table until close to 5:15. I felt like we were trying to be upsold the entire time we were there.
Had to wait even with a reservation. It took a discussion with the manager to get our order served. Waiter was clueless. Ruined our evening .
Great food - highly recommend the tacos.
Great evening. Thank you for accommodating us outside. Two heaters helped.
Seated an hour after reservation time. Food was pretty good but very small portions. We all laughed when the food came out the plates were so sparse. For the price we had higher expectations. The service was good but nothing outstanding. The overall experience was average but the price was premium.
Ordered an old fashion could taste salt in the rim. Food still stuck to my glass. Didn’t even stay yo order food.
The noise level is awful. It is very hard to carry a conversation and the music has no melody....
just loud beats. Going out to eat should be pleasant and not have to scream to be heard.
This is one of my favorite restaurants, the food is superb and the service and servers are great.
Please do something about the sound ambience.
Everything about this place was top notch. The service was excellent, the restaurant itself was beautiful, and the food was so fire. Make a reservation here and don’t think twice about it.
First day for lunch this year at The Mission and it was worth the wait. Super fresh - made to order Guacamole and chips and salsa to start with their proprietary Mission Margarita!!!! Then the Chicken Torta, Pork Shoulder Tacos, and grilled street corn.... all fresh and flavorful!!!! Great service and ambiance and we will be back!!! Thank you to the great staff, as well ! Derek and Donna Rosenberg
The best guacamole in town. I would go back for that. It was Valentine’s Day and service was lacking. We have another “Fav” restaurant that we go to that serve the same food, menu style, servings and service is a higher value.
We probably won’t return soon.
very limited menu, small portions of guac. small menu choices.
Food was great! Service was lackluster. I know it was Valentine’s Day weekend but the server couldn’t answer specifics about menu items. He also made us do a lot of the ‘work’ I expect not to have to do at nicer restaurants like clearing plates, boxing leftover items...it was also super windy that night and the outdoor experience was not great. can’t plan weather but it definitely didn’t make the night any better. Not sure I’d come back for a meal honestly.
Family dinner. Wanted some place with good menu and indoor dining. It was a nice atmosphere and good food
It’s been a while since I’ve dined at the Mission. I remember it being better. I understand some things changed with the pandemic, but the food was sub par. The guacamole is not made to order like it used to be, or made at the table. The tacos were just ok, and the portion sizes are way too small for the money.
Couldn’t even hear myself think it was so loud.
The guacamole was terrific, but no more table side presentation like the old Mission in South Scottsdale. Hardly had time to eat it, the main course came so fast.
The fish tacos were absolutely tasteless, a real disappointment. The prickly pear margarita was a pale imitation of a margarita.
And, I assure you, with the stratospheric prices, this place ain’t no value, that’s for sure.
No more mission for this dude.
Our waiter was attentive and friendly which made for a great dining experience. The dishes were excellent/very tasty and the atmosphere was lively. We will definitely return.
The Mission is a fantastic spot to enjoy delicious food and drinks. The restaurant is beautiful and the bar is gorgeous. We made a reservation for the patio and then realized it was colder than we expected as we walked over so we were grateful to see heaters on the patio.
The guacamole was delicious! The chips and salsa were fantastic and the salsa had a wonderful smokey chipotle flavor. The sweet corn was amazing and between the corn and guacamole I didn't need anything else but we ordered the pork shoulder! It was also delicious and the corn tortillas served on a salt block were amazing.
The cocktails were delicious and they have a wonderful selection of tequila. The drink menu had some really great specialty cocktails and will have to try some one of these days.
From the moment we arrived the service from the host, bus, and wait staff was exceptional.
Dined with my friend! We got table side guacamole! Always a great staple! She got steak tacos and I had my favorite almerjes!! (Mexican soup) soooo good!! I'll always make the mission one of my favorite places to dine!
Loud for my taste. But the service and food was awesome.
Great food great, service is what we’ve grown a-custom to at the Mission be-it old town or Kierland. On this particular visit we requested on the reservation to be seated in the bar area. They couldn’t accommodate that and reason given was because we have a lot of big parties coming in so we’re unable accommodate the request. This is after they seated us in the upstairs dining area. Point being nobody really paid attention to the request. And yes we walked by multiple open spots in the downstairs bar area.
Very loud could not hear the people at our table Server had to many tables was not able to check in regularly or provide basic utensils with dishes. Ordered items to share had to ask for spoons to serve and plates to put things onto. Surprise during Covid they would expect guests to share items with out a way to put onto individual plates stairs are a hazzard. If they have to tell you to watch your step and that the raised coverings are due to weather erosion. Maybe you should get that fixed 🧐.
Really great! Brunch was super! The chorizo and egg dish is wonderful as well as the ham torta. The kale salad is beyond amazing!
Waitress and staff were all very nice but delivery of food and beverages was erratic. We received our salad at the end of dinner and it took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine. Restaurant also needs some updates, especially to the dangerous stairs to the upper level (the rubber is lumpy and bubbling; tripping/fall hazard).
I’ve always enjoyed my meals here and recommend the pork shoulder for 2. It’s the best thing on the menu in my opinion. We were celebrating our anniversary and they brought us the best dessert of pumpkin bread pudding!
Honestly wasn't great at all. Ordered salmon which came very dry just with a few potatoes and they charge almost $35 per it which has no flavor and overdone. Food is pretty bad I wouldn't go back.
Delightful patio dining experience! Fabulous food incredible jalapeño cucumber margarita!
Best tacos, best poblano grits, best ambiance!! The service was great, the music awesome. Our waitress was lovely, knowledgeable and accommodating. The hostess welcomed us so warmly. We went with my 3 kids, who are kinda picky eaters and even they enjoyed. Probably better for date night or girls night, but overall an amazing place!
Great birthday dinner for my step dad! Visiting from out of town, but we will definitely be coming back when we’re back in Scottsdale.
Amazing customer service! We booked this reservation last minute and they only had outdoor seating, which was our preference anyway because of Covid. Upon arrival, the hostess went to seat us at a table outside next to the host desk where a lot of people were congregating. This was not ideal for us because we didn't want to take our masks off to eat around that amount of people. When I let the hostess know that we'd like to be move she quickly took care of the seating challenge and was really awesome about it. We were sat at the upstairs balcony which was very secluded, quiet, and had a great view. Our sever was awesome and very attentive. He took his time which we appreciated. I hate being rushed during dinner. Overall, it was a great experience and I'm impressed with the whole staff on how accommodating and easy they were.
Food was good, not fantastic, but good. The service and atmosphere is where it was really lacking. We made a reservation, and arrived on time. We were seated outside, in an area without auxiliary lighting (so only ambient lighting from the parking lot), and no patio heater. All the other tables had heat and light, but we were seated at the one that didn’t. The server was decent enough, but clearly wasn’t interested in resolving the issue. After asking twice, we were moved to a table inside, which was good. Still, service was very slow and unenthusiastic. They brought out the side dish by itself before the appetizer, which they brought with the entrees, waits for cocktail refills after ordering them was unreasonably long considering we were within a few yards of the bar.
Food was good and flavors were solid, but not worth the wait when compared to other restaurants in Scottsdale. Especially considering the cost, the service was well below what should be expected for a meal of this caliber. They are clearly trying very hard to put out a top notch menu and create a “fine dining experience.” They just need to focus on customer experience and hiring better employees to accomplish it.
Will definitely be back here! The ambiance was fun, good food, good service.
Ambience and cocktails were great. The food was so bad. Potatoes were less than half cooked, chicken had no flavor, guacamole was bland and needed salt, at the very least. Our server was busy with other tables, and didn’t ask about our meals until we were done. At that point, what could be done? We were disappointed with our terrible and expensive meal and ready to leave. The Old Town restaurant is one of my favorites and I don’t know how this location could be so bad.
I love their food. Service is horrible every time
The food and place was great but I didn't like that we were seated outside. I made the reservation 3 days before requesting to be seated inside. There was a lot of rain that day and I guess they decided to move all people from patio and balconies inside which make sense. But by the time we got in, there was no sitting inside available. They didn't even recommend to be seated inside with some time wait, they just sat us outside. Poor decision making.
Everyone loved the food! Service was spot on. Great great meal
Food was very tasty but also pricey. The mission margarita was terrible. No tequila was evident and the drink was $14. When I mentioned it to the waiter I was told that it was a common complaint but that they were made that way....claimed it was two ounces of tequila but very smooth....I can tell you there was none in the drink.
Had reservations at 7:15. Was not sat until 7:45. Staff said there was a party upstairs occupying the table we reserved for going on 4 hours. Was told by management that they asked the party to leave. 30 minutes after our scheduled reservation, we were not taken to the upstairs table we were told we would get but instead a corner table by the bar that had been opened since we arrived. Staff was very apologetic and offered a couple free appetizers for the inconvenience. Food was very good, fun atmosphere and a staff that cares about your experience
