   The fish courses were excellent with the texture / cooking spot on and a delicious sauce. The steak was also very good and proper triple cooked chips were a real bonus. The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable We'll leave room for the dessert next time.

   Excellent food and service. Our waitress who we discovered was from our neck of the woods in the Midlands was very friendly and extremely helpful in booking a taxi for us. We had a lovely chat after a superb meal.

   We booked dinner at this lovely restaurant having read some great reviews. Since our visit, I read one of the most recent ones which wasn’t so great, and I am very surprised at the comments. I cannot believe the very pleasant owner, who we met briefly, would employ anyone who was unhelpful and grumpy. We were early and were greeted very warmly by a smiley Gemma who looked after us through the evening. The restaurant ended up being very busy and both Jessica and Gemma worked incredibly hard to make sure everyone enjoyed their evening. We went straight for the mains and my cod fillet was cooked to perfection, as were the divine chips, and the crushed peas and tartare sauce were beautifully tasty and seasoned perfectly. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his hake on a bed of samphire, leeks and salsa verde. To avoid a ‘domestic’, he had his own portion of fabulous chips! He then had room for a gorgeous brownie with peanut butter ice cream AND cream while I had a delicious raspberry crème brulee with a shortbread biscuit. We had a lovely bottle of wine which was very reasonably priced, as was the meal itself. We simply couldn’t fault our experience at the Millside. Gemma really IS a gem, and a huge asset to this restaurant. She could not have been more helpful, knowledgeable or friendly. We would not hesitate to visit again and we heartily recommend that diners ignore the odd negative review and book a table here. We just wish it was nearer to our home – we would be eating there very regularly! Thank you to all the hardworking team for a really enjoyable evening.

   We were pleasantly surprised by what we found. The menu was varied, the food good and the service first class. As it's local, we shall go again!

   I had the Lobster Linguine special and my husband the Rump Steak. Both meals were beautifully cooked and presented. Best pasta dish I have ever had - full marks to the chef.

   While on holiday in Lyme Regis we decided to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed, and were treated to a substantial Sunday lunch, cooked to perfection - beef and pork with excellent crackling, and interesting vegetables too. The children (3 and under) loved the chips on the childrens' menu. The staff were very friendly and looked after us all so well we just wished we'd had time for a return visit!

   We really loved the feel of this restaurant and felt very welcomed by the staff. Our waitresses were very friendly and chatty. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very classy. The only downside to the restaurant was the fact that there really weren't that many vegetarian/vegan options, so we ended up having to order a strange selection of (delicious) side dishes and starters! If the restaurant are able to, please consider adding some vegetarian dishes/salads to your menu - it would take my rating to 5 stars!

   Although the food is consistently very good - we dined there twice last week and have visited for three years, the service can be extremely slow - too slow be be comfortable with. There is a difference between not rushing the diner and keeping them waiting too long as is the case here. I think they need more staff in the kitchen. The front of house staff are excellent and so is the food but don't be in a rush and if you take children there do take plenty of things to occupy them!

    A late booking for 5 while on holiday from Birmingham, lovely restaurant, lovely friendly staff, quick service , great food even tho the beers were a bit pricey , overall fab
