Overall enjoyable Bday dinner! Thx!
Surprisingly spacious, comfortable and attractive ambiance for Manhattan which was nice - we weren't sitting on top of the people at the next table on either side.
Food was excellent - we enjoyed a very nicely cooked octopus & chick pea starter and black cod and branzino entrees which were nicely done.
Lots of servers (waiter, someone who brought bread and olive oil, someone who brought salt and pepper, someone who brought our food) but the result was occasionally longish waits in between wanting help, but nothing to complain of, especially in these early post-pandemic days.
Beautiful space, friendly and attentive staff, food was delicious. One of my go-to space on the UWS
The room and ambience really inviting and good balance of refined and comfy.
Food was good.. not great. I had octopus appetizer as a main and would not recommend. Was all chickpea and no octopus. The pastas were good. Specialty cocktails a must ( esp the watermelon basil something) .
The grilled octopus is distinct...and great. Worth a try.
The food and service were wonderful. The salads, pork chop, bronzino, and brussel sprouts were terrific. The a/c was too strong at first but it warmed up. I thought the prices were high. For 3 of us plus tip it came to $250.
Excellent food and ambiance!!!
Just a beautiful place with terrific service and outstanding food.
Very uneven. Restaurant is beautiful and the space is so inviting. Food was very good. Not out of this world, but more than satisfactory. The service was lacking. Our server was overwhelmed from the start, which impacted the experience from the moment we got there. Food came late and the our sides only came out after we reminded our service team.
Fabulous!! Every dish was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Fish cooked perfectly! Staff all lovely and friendly! Can’t wait to go back!
Character, attention to detail, and delicious food. What more could you want. A great family to experience it with! Although the menu is pared down .... what is offered is outstanding. Portion size is perfect and dessert is great for sharing. Definitely on the list to come again the next time we’re in NYC!
Kyle, our server, was wonderful. He knew the ingredients and was helpful in deciding what wine and cocktails we should try. The food was delicious. Brussel sprouts were very tasty and the salmon tartare was refreshing. Our only concern was the lack of sir conditioning - especially considering that it was over 90 degrees outside.
This being my first experience at the milling room, my first impression is the beauty of the room with the skylight dome and relaxed cool decor. The hostess couldn’t be more cordial and our server, Kyle, was professional and friendly and extremely helpful deciphering some of the unusual menu items. While the menu is not extensive, each choice Had something different to offer. We had the Hamachi appetizer the fusilli and gnocchi all prepared to perfection. This restaurant is a treat in the area, a new find for me and I intend to bring many friends and family in the future. BRAVO!
Best service that I’ve had in a long time. Friendly staff. Wonderful food.
Great specialty cocktails
Nice bright and airy ambiance from skylights
A pleasant brunch with my wonderful granddaughter is hard to beat. We both had a good time and enjoyed our meal. Our waitress was particularly helpful which is not always true.
This place is amazingly decorated and the food is great
Everything outstanding. Ambience with lovely high ceilings as advertised. Music pleasing but not overbearing. Ingredients fresh and meals prepared perfectly.
Sitting outside after the heat of the day dissipated was very pleasant. The grilled eggplant with anchovy was excellent.
Lovely looking restaurant and out of the ordinary food (seasoning and preparation/presentation), except for some surprisingly luke warm and bland steak fries despite their exotic name. Service was efficient and warm. This restaurant has some very strict, not to mention offputting rules about last minute cancelltions or no shows. Read the fine print before making a reservation.
Fabulous. Food. Service. Ambiance. Wine list. Lovely date night with my husband. Would definitely go back again
An excellent experience!! The room is just beautiful, the service was wonderful and the food and wine were excellent. We ordered the kale salad, salmon tartare, bronzino and chicken and all were cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back.
The food was disappointing. Not actively bad, but totally boring. Drinks were very good. Excellent staff
Birthday, which I noted, but was never acknowledged at the milling room. This place has slid down from my favorites. Waitress was falsely enthusiastic and seemed fake with comments about all the “fantastic” entrees and appetizers, she stopped wearing a mask and was sneezing and coughing(into her sleeve). The music was inappropriate for fine dining, but luckily the place filled up by 8 pm so we didn’t hear it after that.matitre d’ claimed he couldn’t change it when asked.
I think food is overpriced . Branson’s was good though.
They need to hire more staff
Beautiful space, attentive staff, exceptional cuisine.
Best French toast I have ever had
Amazing service thank you Tomas, Betty, Neftaly for their care and hospitality. Food was excellent - especially pork chop and octopus. Cocktails are amazing also!
We had a joint birthday dinner at the Milling Room and it was absolutely perfect! It exceeded our expectations and we loved the food, drinks, kind and prompt service, and beautiful environment. Thank you for making our night so special!
Our first time... It was wonderful! Friendly and helpful staff. We arrived early and were given the choice of being seated or having a drink at the bar. Glad we chose the latter. Loved our martini and the comfortable setting. Nice to relax a bit before dinner. When we entered the dining room - we loved the decor, the light and the cleanliness. Our server was on point and very effective. We loved our appetizers (burrata & beets, shishito peppers and the octopus. Wow... Our entrees were also perfect. My husband's halibut special over broccolini was great. My asparagus and gnocchi also creative, fresh and perfect. Great wine list. Loved the experience... the food, the setting and the service. We'll be back...
Good place, especially outside dining, for dates and celebrations!
Great food and ambience. Definitely an excellent combination of tastes!
I made reservations for my family and I for Father’s Day. We sat outside the service was not great. Our female server never introduced herself and I felt like a burden since at that time we were the only family seated outside. I’ve dined at The Milling Room several times although indoors and I’ve always had exceptional service. The food and drinks are never in question. Overall we had a great day
Food was excellent! Definitely in the pricey range and some portions larger than others. Beautiful venue.
Very expensive for pretty average food.
Had a nice time, first time back since the pandemic. Pork Chop amazing. Wagyu steak, good, but probably not worth the price. Sticky toffee pudding very good. Sweet sauce was good. Could have used more candied pecans. Berry Vacherin good if you like a not very sweet, berry filled dessert. We miss the truffle asparagus appetizer and the duck.
The occasion was ‘special’ because we were out w/ friends inside a restaurant for the 1st time since Covid began.
The food is inventive and the staff friendly and accommodating.
I’ve been here so many times can’t believe I never left a review! The food is amazing, staff is friendly can’t go wrong with any occasion! Thank you!
We ate in their outside area and it was great!
Great spot. Open airy room. Good food and service. Recommended.
