Drinks were great. Food was good. Great ambiance. But the service spoilt the night. Service was terrible. Had to wait over 30 mins past reservation time to get seated. No one came to take order for another 30 mins. Took forever to bring the food as well.
Food and ambience are fabulous. Too crowded to talk effectively. Service slow at the end.
Excellent food and service in quiet outdoor seating area
Dinner last night was spectacular, we had the chilled corn soup with lump crab meat, and the special roasted cauliflower with baby beets as appetizer, both were refreshing and well seasoned, then we had the gnocchi, and the pasta carbonara as mid course, they were delicious. For entree, we had the chicken, and the dry aged ny strip, flavors were great, and same as the presentation. For dessert, we had the sticky toffee pudding, and sorbet with berries. The wine pairing suggestions throughout the meal from the GM was spot on. The service was impeccable and unpretentious. The space and the deco is gorgeous. It was a great experience and we look forward to dining here again. We highly recommend the Milling Room for a nice dinner out.
Our food took a while to come out. My dish was a bit cold when it came out after 30-40min after ordering. Our waiter forgot one order at the end.
Great location for Sunday Brunch. Beautiful room and excellent food and service!
service was outstanding. food was not up to usual standards: peaches in salad were hard, & fish was dry. perhaps this was because the restaurant was closed for a private affair.
Love coming here - service was a bit slow but everyone is super nice, and the food and drinks are delicious.
Amazing food! It was the best meal I’ve had in a long time.
Excellent food and not just in a "good local place" kind of way.
Food is okay, but pricey. Noise levels are relatively high, due to the big empty space. Service was way too fast, felt like we were being chased away even though the restaurant was not full.
Beautiful setting, outstanding food.
Our server, Miles, was excellent! He was extremely attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, and made excellent suggestions for the table. I really enjoyed the Waterloo cocktail (refreshing but not too sweet) and the fried oyster appetizer special. We’ll definitely be coming back!
The space is beautiful. The food was not up to par. The salad was underdressed abs overpriced, the pork was tough, the seafood overdone, the coffee lukewarm. Fro start to finish, a disappointment.
Was by myself and quite disappointed all around.
Been there twice before for dinner and those experiences were delightful in every way.
Food was delicious, atmostphere is unique and attractive and the wait staff was outstanding. Definitely a 10!
The food was really delicious, and the service was attentive. We were sitting at a corner table, and it was freezing. The people sitting next to us were complaining about the same thing—the bar area was like 10 degrees warmer than the main dining room
Great food!! Great customer service!!! Great ambience!!
Everything was fabulous! Great Saturday brunch.
I had dinner and brunch at the Milling Room recently and both times the food was terrific. Beautifully presented and delicious. The linguine alla carbonara was creamy and garlicky and the ricotta gnocchi was really nice too. Staff is friendly and efficient. Great to sit outside but indoor dining is a lovely atmosphere. This is my new go to on the UWS.
Great time ! Great food
Great food, impressive service. It was an early seating so the place was quiet.
The food and atmosphere is outstanding. Highly recommend!!
Anna the hostess is amazing! She’s incredibly helpful, warm, and kind and is an excellent manager!!
Even turning the storm the Wait staff were calm and lovely. The cod was fantastic!
This was our second time here and we loved every aspect. The service was impeccable and our food was delicious. We happened to be dining during the rain and thunderstorm from Ida and it was a beautiful space to miss out on the weather chaos.
The food was delicious, the portions were generous, the staff were attentive and friendly.
The dining room is beautiful with the atrium. Our proof of vaccination card was checked before entering. Melissa, i think she is the manager was very accomodating. The food was delicious and good presentation. I want to go back.
We were there for a late brunch with my elderly parents...the hostess was extremely accommodating, the service was lovely, and the food was delicious.
The food was delicious — everything was so fresh! The server and hostess could not have been nicer. Service of drinks was a little slow, but every place is short-staffed now. Outdoor dining space is very nice.
The food, service, and ambience at The Milling Room was good, prior to Covid. Now, it is excellent. The menu is creative without being bizarre; ingredients are fresh; the presentations attractive; and the service is absolutely wonderful.
originally planned to dine outdoors but once we saw the interior we had to eat inside. The place is designed beautifully and the seating is very spacious so we were not on top of other people. The service was impeccable the food was delectable.
Will definitely be returning. We started with the stone fruit and tomato appetizer which was seasonal and outstanding. The pork chop entrée and the salmon entrée were both excellent and served to perfection
Great ambiance for a friends reunion - fun atmosphere and still very able to visit with each other. everybody was able to find food they enjoyed. Will defiantly return
The menu changes daily, which tells you how much attention is paid to the food. Our choices included cold corn soup, salmon, and black cod, both fish lightly sauced and melt-in-your mouth delicious, plus the sticky toffee pudding and berries over black raspberry sorbet for dessert. I kept stealing bits of my friend's sticky toffee. We sat in the middle of the main dining room, where all the tables are separated by at least six feet. The high-ceiling ambience with its glass barrel vault is lovely, although because of all the hard surfaces, I imagine the noise level could become quite loud if the space were filled closer to capacity. As it was, we could converse without shouting. All told, a very pleasant dining experience.
We got there a little after the reservation time because of the rain and they were very understanding and accommodating.
We love this place. Absolutely delicious and excellent service.
The octopus appetizer is excellent and black cod with vegetables really well prepared with an excellent flavor.
Everything about our experience was outstanding. The food, the service, the decor was the best. WOW. We will be going back frequently.
Wonderful brunch experience with waiter Miles outdoors. Came back unexpectedly after park concert rain out and crowd in bar and had terrific service and drinks served by Thomas. Friendly staff snd great food and drinks. Terrific find!
