Time to add better decor. It's just old looking. Everything else good!
A beautiful view and delicious food. A surprising bread basket with whole grain bread, yummy seasonal gingerbread, and current scones. Delightful!
Excellent service, good food and nice dining room, you can see Central Park.
Best place to go if you are visiting our Metropolitan Museum of art. Tablecloths, view ,service and food is good. Place to rest before taking on more exhibits! Can’t go wrong.
The room was indeed noisy. Too noisy. Perhaps some modification can be made? Other than that, it was pretty wonderful. I love this room. The food was good. Too bad no omelets for lunch but my hamburger was great. Thank your for having such a beautiful dining room.

The kabocha squash soup was outstanding! The Creekstone Farm burger was excellent.
Our waiter was attentive and thoughtful, made good suggestions and was happy to provide take out bags for our desert. The food was mostly good with one exception--the salad was minimally dressed and the dressing had minimal flavor.
An excellent dining experience in an elegant location. On the spot service. Reasonable prices for a quality meal among the Central Park treetops.
We were there for a anniversary brunch with friends. We were seated immediately. It would’ve been better if we were closer to the windows which provide a view of Central Park West. Food was brought out promptly. Service was impeccable. Our server was informative. They even gave us our dessert that said happy anniversary. It made a lasting impression on our guests. They were very appreciative of the entire event. We will return again.
The waiter spilled the water and didn’t apologize. He couldn’t find the wine I requested even after I told him the name and page number. Server also called out the price of the bottle of wine to confirm my selection instead of the name. “Is it this one? The $65 dollar one?” Other server brought us bread without butter—I had to request it. There’s no music so it feels strange in there. Food is completely forgettable. Would never return.
We always enjoy our visits. It's our "Let's impress our friends." dinner location.
Wonderful menu with many delicious selections. Hard to make a choice. Chocolate lava cakes were delicious. We had a window table with a view of the San Remo, the obelisk and fall colors. Good service.
The Met dining room is an amazing collection of excellent food, fabulous staff all within a wonderful ambiance. You begin to relax the moment you enter the space. The staff is so attentive without hovering. The prices are a bit high but the food and wine are indeed special. I had a great time with dear friends and getting the small dessert plate was the final and incredible end to a great afternoon.
Our dining experience was excellent as usual. Our server, Luis R. was very helpful in making recommendations!
We came for afternoon tea after walking around the museum and it was great. The tables by the window had nice views and plenty of light. The tea selection was really nice and the finger sandwiches and desserts were nicely presented and delicate. The only complaint I had was that you could only have 1 kind of tea, which seemed silly.... It's just tea lol. Overall it was a fun experience with my girlfriends!
Hosting visitors from Asia.
Came for tea on Saturday, November 2. The service was good. The food while it tasted very good was not enough for even a snack. The three sliver sandwiches need to be doubled or tripled. Tried to order something off the lunch menu, but they were only serving brunch and wouldn't sell anything ala carte. Left hungry.
Food was great and the view is lovely, but service was slow. There were so many servers and wait staff but there seemed to be confusion about who should clear and bring dishes and when. We gave our waiter our credit card before dessert came out so we could settle the bill in advance and he held onto it for 20 minutes and didn’t bring it back until we finished dessert! Still glad we went, as it gave us more time in the museum and the meal was delicious. Would go back and just prepare for so-so service.
We had a pleasant experience with excellent food and got some perks. We are frequent clients so we are well known by some waiters
The food here is, as usual, first rate. I had a delicious salad that gave me some new ideas for dressing up a green salad; my veal ragout with pappardelle was silky and sustaining. For dessert, an apple tartine like no
other, in shape, texture and taste: deliciously varied and apple all the way.
The only reservation I have is their placement of a frequent customer who likes to talk, and is alone, right next to us. Whoever is sitting there next to the window will inherit this role. Is there a solution? Generally, the atmosphere is fine and the service prompt enough to support it.
Unfortunately we missed the lunch hour and had the Afternoon Tea Service, which is an entirely different venue. Scones, little tea sandwiches and desserts were good, but not what we were interested in, and not a good value. Since we had a wonderful lunch there in the summer, we'll adjust our schedule and return for that.
We had a lovely and relaxing lunch after a great tour of the gallery.
The Dining Room has become my default food destination at the Met when a
visit corresponds with a meal time. Tasty food, good service and
pleasant atmosphere plus iconic view of the Park!
I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service and quality of food. My favorite museum restaurants has always been at the Getty. The Dining Room is equally as good.
We had lunch here on a Sunday and the only choice was pre fix. That was the first disappointment we couldn't order al la cart. The pre fix was $55 and IF the food was outstanding or even delicious I would have been ok. I had pasta that was overcooked and altho it was meant to be home made it tasted like frozen pasta. The soup was OK but not outstanding. For desert we had fresh fruit which included approx 10 slices of over ripe melon, and pineapple and another fruit I didn't recognize. I was shocked how poor the quality was. Service was excellent and the waiters could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Not their fault the food was bad. The room is quiet which is a blessing and the room is filled with light so ambiance is great. Would never have brunch here again as it is always pre fix and way over priced for food that's not worth it. During the week you can order al la cart so that is a better option.
A lovely & romantic candlelit evening at the most refined & delicious restaurant in the city. We feel blessed the long standing staff was still there to greet us. We appreciated the chef's willingness to accommodate the allergies we noted. Furthermore The Dining Room at The Metropolitan Museum of Art features what is in our impression the most beautiful view of any restaurant in the city.
We love the Met Dining Room. Great food and you can have a conversation. Plus it’s so fun to leave the Met after hours.
An elegant oasis. Lovely setting, great food, terrific service. Heaven on the 4th floor!
I dined there for lunch. The food, service and setting were all fantastic.
Loved that we were seated in the window as requested. Honored to be at the”Queen’s” table. Thanks so much!
My extended family including our new grandson, celebrated my wife’s special birthday day for brunch. Everything could not have been more perfect from the beautiful dining room to the excellent service and delicious food. As a long-standing member, I appreciated the discount and complimentary brunch alcoholic beverages. The Dining Room at the Met is a wonderful venue for special celebrations!
Great place but a bit overpriced. Most guests are members. And portions are small for the price. The food is fresh and very tasty. Chef is def good.
A lovely lunch once again on a sparkling day at our favorite New York restaurant The Dining Room at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We were concerned to learn the restaurant management company is changing & recommend the new management keep the same waiters, runners, busmen, & hosts who have served us with love, care, & friendship for so many years. Encore, encore, encore.
Good food, great service in a setting overlooking central park that can not be beat. It is civilized. Perfect for a rest when you are visiting the museum or otherwise.
I enjoyed the dinner at the Dining Room at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The ambiance was comfortable, the food inventive and delicious and the service good. I especially liked Mr. Maque (?) who kept an eye out for me. The grilled octopus was excellent and the broccoli rabe spread for the bread was so tasty. It is expensive, but a great way to relax with a glass of wine after enjoying the museum.
They have cut back on the bread selection. They used to put out a basket with rolls, cheese cracker, etc. we were served a plate with a roll for each and
A small piece of foccachio....I ordered salmon and the piece was less than an inch wide. When I commented to the waiter, he said”you’r e right”. My
Friend had a normal slice. It was good, it tiny.
Very slow service. Management fluttering around overlooking tables that needed service. For a restaurant space touting an elevated service to their cafe counterpart they unarguably delivered cafe quality service.
Beyond my expectations! Well worth the cost.
High end gourmet. This was a lovely break in between seeing the great art. I plan to eat here
Every time I come.
Beautiful setting located on the 4th floor of the Met. Great service, not rushed and very flavorful food.
